I just started a new Android project, &quot;WeekendStudy&quot; to continue learning Android development and I got stumped compiling the default &#39;hello weekendstudy&#39; compile / run.  I think that I missed a step in configuration and setup, but I am at a loss to find out where.  I have an AVD configured, set and launched.

When I press &#39;run&#39;, the SDK is building a file main.out.xml and then fails as this:

android sdk main.out.xml parsing error?

Lately Google and Intel have published a new way to run the emulator, which should work much better than the previous version (which has emulated ARM CPU). Here are some links about it: [this][1] and [this][2].

However, after installing the new components and creating a new emulator configuration as instructed, I get an error and I also can&#39;t see any improvements. I&#39;ve tried both API 10 and API 15, and with GPU enabled and disabled. None of those configurations helped. I&#39;ve also tried it on two different computers and didn&#39;t get any boost (and got the same errors).

It seems that on the posts I&#39;ve read about it, nobody had any problems with it and all report a much faster emulator.

The error it shows is:

    emulator: Failed to open the HAX device!
    HAX is not working and emulator runs in emulation mode
    emulator: Open HAX device failed

Why is it happening, and is there a way to fix it? Is there anyone else who gets those errors or vice versa?

By the way, I have an Intel CPU, if that could be a problem.

So I&#39;m trying to create an AVD Simulator, and I keep getting the &quot;No system images installed for this target&quot; error when trying to create a 4.2.2 system even though the image is installed (See picture of SDK Manager).

My system is x64, does that make a difference?

Why emulator is very slow in Android Studio?

I just recently downloaded the Android SDK.  
Downloading all the packages in the &quot;SDK Manager&quot; will take way too much time. So I&#39;m wondering whether I should deselect all the platforms except the latest one.  
Do I need all the platforms or which ones do I need?

I decided to try Android Studio 2.0 having used Eclipse in the past but I&#39;m having considerable difficulty getting the AVD to load correctly. I&#39;ve done quite a bit of googling and research into the problem, both here on SO and Google.So far nothing has worked.

The emulator simply hangs on the android load-up screen ever time I try to run it. I&#39;ve seen it advised to use Genymotion but I would first prefer to resolve the issue natively in Android Studio to feel confident going forward using the IDE for building projects.

Here&#39;s what I&#39;ve tried:

 - Complete reinstall of Android, SDK and SDK Tools
   
   
 - Install and configure of Intel x86 accelerator

   
   

 - Lowered the RAM amount to 512 in AVD settings

   
   

 - Multiple attempts at deleting and recreating AVD&#39;s

   
  

 - Tried creating different AVD phone models(Nexus One,Nexus 5x etc.)

   
   

 - Resetting ADB in AVD Monitor Tool

   
   

 - Starting ADB server from terminal

   
   

 - Restarting Android Studio multiple times after changes

   
   

 - Running SDK/SDK Tools updates several times

   
   

 - Made sure the SDK path is correct

These are the majority of the &quot;solutions&quot; I found either on other similar SO questions or by googling none of which has resolved the problem. 

When I run the emulator currently it displays the following in the run window:

    /Users/&lt;username&gt;/Library/Android/sdk/tools/emulator -netdelay none -netspeed full -avd Nexus_5X_API_23
    Warning: requested ram_size 1024M too big, reduced to 512M
    emulator: WARNING: Increasing RAM size to 1024MB

The emulator shows up fine in the Android AVD Monitor devices pane and even appears to go through the entire booting process on the emulator screen itself but never gets to the Android home screen.
Also, Logcat seems to be looping continuously through dozens of errors and warnings, which don&#39;t offer any clear indication of what the issue might be or direction of how to resolve it.

I feel like I&#39;ve exhausted every idea and not sure how to move forward.Just for the record, I am running El Capitan 10.9.2 with a 2.4gh Intel Core 2 Duo and 4gb ram.It&#39;s not the fastest machine for sure but should be capable of running Android Studio and the emulator. 

Any help or guidance resolving this problem is gratefully appreciated!

AVD Emulator stuck on loading screen in Android Studio

I&#39;ve set up the Android SDK and Eclipse on my machine running Windows XP and AVDs (Android Virtual Devices) are saved to &quot;Documents and Settings\\*user*\\.android&quot; by default.  Is there any way to change this behavior?  I have all of the other components saved in a directory on a separate partition and would like everything to be consolidated.  Obviously not a huge deal but does anyone here know a workaround for this?

Possible to change where Android Virtual Devices are saved?

Now I have to download and install the Android SDK and [AVD Manager][1], and then install the APIs, tools through the UI. Is there a way to automate this process?

This problem was discovered when I tried to run the Android emulator in Eclipse. Can&#39;t figure out what happened. I searched online for the solution, but it seemed to be vague and I don&#39;t understand clearly.

Emulator error: This AVD&#39;s configuration is missing a kernel file

When I switch to landscape mode (&lt;kbd&gt;NUMPAD 7&lt;/kbd&gt; or &lt;kbd&gt;CTRL&lt;/kbd&gt;+&lt;kbd&gt;F11&lt;/kbd&gt;) the emulator rotates the screen to landscape orientation but the Android OS and none of the apps rotate. So everything is sitting sideways. Is there something in the AVD configuration that needs to be set in order for the device to rotate properly?

After googling quite a bit I am unable to find the answer to this question. Is google play store officially support in avd emulators. 

I know it was once stopped , then I hear that it was brought back after specific version of android. I am using avd android version 4.4.3 (api 19) google app . I dont see a google play store app there. Am I suppose to expect it? Or is there an official apk for google play store that can be installed on the avd officially?

I know if you change a android phone from portrait to landscape sometimes the app relays its self out on the screen.. so how do I simulate rotating a phone with the emulator?

I have Windows 8.1 pro with an AMD processor. I installed the Android SDK and Eclipse. It works but the problem is that when I Create AVD and launch it shows this error:

I am new to Android Studio and I am having problems while using the emulator. When I try to run it keeps crashing saying:

Cannot launch AVD in emulator:QT library not found

After updating to Android Studio 2020.3.1 canary 15, when I try to run an emulator, it gets killed with this error:

&gt; The emulator process for AVD Pixel_4_API_30 has terminated.

It was working correctly in the previous version (4.1.3), but now after installing the new one, it shows the same error.

I&#39;ve tried some solutions had suggested in almost similar cases; however, It still doesn&#39;t work.

1. I deleted my emulator (also I cleared inside of directory: /.android/avd/) and created a new one again
2. I updated the HAXM installer to version 7.6.5
3. I tried to run an emulator with lower APIs but...

Android Emulator issues in new versions - The emulator process has terminated

Does anyone know, if vendors provide or if there is a site where one could download AVD profiles for existing android devices on the market so you can run your apps in the emulator and basically see how they will run on said devices?

I know it&#39;s pretty easy to create a new device but it&#39;d be great if one could just download the config file for each device and run it.

Why AVD Manager options are not showing in Android Studio

I can&#39;t change the graphics to software as I&#39;m sure this is the fix for my AVD not launching. 
The option is greyed out (see screenshot). Has anyone has experience with this? I couldn&#39;t find anyone who had the same issue.

I&#39;m running the latest version of Android Studio on Ubuntu 17.04.

Can&#39;t change emulated performance of AVD in Android Studio

After installation of Android SDK, there was created `.android` folder on the `E:\` drive. As far as I know this is the default folder of Android Virtual Devices for configuration files.

How can I move `.android` folder to a different location?

(eg. from `E:\.android` to `E:\Android\.android`)

This problem sounds similar to a [few][1] [others][2], except in my case the OK button is not grey-ed out. But for those who would rather not click the links...

Trying to create or edit an AVD from within Eclipse, after entering my settings, the &quot;OK&quot; button seems to be &quot;clickable&quot;, but when I click it absolutely nothing happens. ![clickable but useless][3]

I&#39;ve made sure I have the appropriate system images installed, and that the target platform matches the API being used. Clearly a CPU has been chosen, skin set, etc... all the things that would make the OK button greyed out, which it&#39;s not.

I can create/edit AVDs if I run the AVD manager from *outside* eclipse, so this isn&#39;t the end of the world, but I feel there&#39;s a solution to this particular problem and I want to help solve it.

I&#39;ve tried running eclipse as an administrator (that&#39;s what stopped the AVD manager from crashing outside of eclipse). I&#39;ve tried just waiting around, or clicking multiple times. Looking at the Task Manager, no new processes begin when I click OK, nor does eclipse&#39;s CPU or RAM usage increase at all. The &quot;Edit Android Virtual Device&quot; window doesn&#39;t even go away.

Any clues?

(Running Indigo with the ADT plugin, btw, not the bundled version, which failed to work in a different way. Java 1.6.0 45. Windows 8, unfortunately. Plenty of RAM etc)

Cannot create or edit Android Virtual Devices (AVD) from Eclipse, ADT 22.6

I&#39;m not sure what changed but the physical keyboard from my computer no longer works for the emulator (running kitkat in Nexus 5, x86). When i look in AVD at the device&#39;s advanced settings, there&#39;s nothing for a hardware keyboard. Where is this setting?

Seems like I&#39;m having some problems after updating my android sdk tools and platform-tools using the sdk manager. The problem is that, after updating, I found that the avd or sdk options in the windows dropdown menu in eclipse are gone! And, I can&#39;t find any option to create an android project from file-&gt;new projects any more. 

I tried removing the ADT from eclipse and the software site &quot;https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/&quot; from &quot;available software sites&quot; and then reinstalled the ADT from &quot;https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/&quot; using help-&gt;install new software. The installation was successful, but I still don&#39;t have any option for shortcuts to the SDK manager or the AVD in eclipse, and neither can I create a new android project.

By the way, the android perspectives are not gone, they are still here. Also, I can manually open the avd and sdk manager from the directory where I have installed them.

Can anyone please show me a workaround? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

About every 4 second after I start the emulator device from my Android Studio project an error message is printed into the Run window. It&#39;s extremely annoying because it hijacks the focus. If I&#39;m in the Debug window it switches to the Run window every 4 seconds because of this error no matter what I do. 

This started a day ago, but I don&#39;t know what induced it. I use the same emulator devices for several months now. Maybe an upgrade of some portion of Android SDK? The external SDK Manager is not invokable any more.

The messages start to come right after I boot up this API 25 wear emulator. One workaround is to make that tab float, then it doesn&#39;t hijack my focus; I move it to my second monitor.

How to prevent Android Studio / AVD &quot;CANNOT TRANSLATE guest DNS ip&quot; error messages?

I have added a second Virtual Device to test a different screen resolution (QVGA), but now I wanna switch back to the first AVD (HVGA) again. How can I set the virtual device in Eclipse to be used by default or even specifically for my project? In the properties I can only set the API level.

I also couldn&#39;t find any information in the [command line tool documentation][1] to set this manually.

While running an app on the `virtual device (AVD`) created on `Android studio` (in `Windows 10`), I am getting an error and panic.

Android 4.0 is now released. I have just updated my [ADT][1] plugin and downloaded the 4.0 SDK. But when I try to create an [AVD][2] for Android 4.0, Eclipse tells me &#39;Unable to find a &#39;userdata.img&#39; file for ABI armeabi to copy into the AVD folder&#39;.

I found `d:\android-sdk-windows\platforms\android-14` missing the &#39;images&#39; folder which other versions have. This folder may have &#39;userdata.img&#39; that create an AVD should have.

Where should I to get &#39;userdata.img&#39;, and how do I create an AVD for Android 4.0?

How to create an AVD for Android 4.0

Dragging and dropping an Android Package *.APK into an AVD (Android Virtual Device) throws a cryptic error:

    The APK failed to install.
    Error: Could not parse error string

* I&#39;ve tried an AVD with the latest API (28) and one that matches my own phone (Nougat 7.0)
*  The APK is a python Kivy APK built with buildozer
*  I am new to Android development. I don&#39;t even know where to begin to debug this. Is there a better log?
* If I upload the APK to the AVD via the file manager and install it fails as well.
* HOWEVER, if I upload this same APK to my actual Android Device, IT WORKS! Not only does it install, but it opens and runs my app just fine with no errors
