I just updated my Android SDK Tools to version 21.1. Unfortunately this is causing an error when I load the Android Developer Toolkit:

&gt; The Android SDK requires Android Developer Toolkit version 21.1.0 or above.
&gt; 
&gt; Current version is 21.0.1.2012-12-6-2-58.
&gt;
&gt; Please update ADT to the latest version.

When I upgraded the SDK I was warned that I might need to upgrade ADT. I tried to do so by going to Help &gt; Check for Updates. Unfortunately this returns a message that &quot;No updates were found.&quot;

In case I&#39;ve missed something here&#39;s a screenshot of my Android SDK Manager:

Am I missing an install package? Do I need to go about updating ADT (Eclipse) another way? Should I just download a new copy of ADT?

I updated the Android SDK tools from revision 11 to revision 12, and the emulator now fails to start.  When I try to run emulator.exe, I get:

The path to emulator.exe is *C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\tools*.

Starting the Android emulator in SDK tools, revision 12

I just updated cordova + ionic in my app, after that i installed successfully Android-SDK v22 via Android SDK manager. 

But after the running command:

    cordova build android 

I always get the following message:

I just recently downloaded the Android SDK.  
Downloading all the packages in the &quot;SDK Manager&quot; will take way too much time. So I&#39;m wondering whether I should deselect all the platforms except the latest one.  
Do I need all the platforms or which ones do I need?

Android SDK Manager - Do you need to install all Android platforms?

I decided to try Android Studio 2.0 having used Eclipse in the past but I&#39;m having considerable difficulty getting the AVD to load correctly. I&#39;ve done quite a bit of googling and research into the problem, both here on SO and Google.So far nothing has worked.

The emulator simply hangs on the android load-up screen ever time I try to run it. I&#39;ve seen it advised to use Genymotion but I would first prefer to resolve the issue natively in Android Studio to feel confident going forward using the IDE for building projects.

Here&#39;s what I&#39;ve tried:

 - Complete reinstall of Android, SDK and SDK Tools
   
   
 - Install and configure of Intel x86 accelerator

   
   

 - Lowered the RAM amount to 512 in AVD settings

   
   

 - Multiple attempts at deleting and recreating AVD&#39;s

   
  

 - Tried creating different AVD phone models(Nexus One,Nexus 5x etc.)

   
   

 - Resetting ADB in AVD Monitor Tool

   
   

 - Starting ADB server from terminal

   
   

 - Restarting Android Studio multiple times after changes

   
   

 - Running SDK/SDK Tools updates several times

   
   

 - Made sure the SDK path is correct

These are the majority of the &quot;solutions&quot; I found either on other similar SO questions or by googling none of which has resolved the problem. 

When I run the emulator currently it displays the following in the run window:

    /Users/&lt;username&gt;/Library/Android/sdk/tools/emulator -netdelay none -netspeed full -avd Nexus_5X_API_23
    Warning: requested ram_size 1024M too big, reduced to 512M
    emulator: WARNING: Increasing RAM size to 1024MB

The emulator shows up fine in the Android AVD Monitor devices pane and even appears to go through the entire booting process on the emulator screen itself but never gets to the Android home screen.
Also, Logcat seems to be looping continuously through dozens of errors and warnings, which don&#39;t offer any clear indication of what the issue might be or direction of how to resolve it.

I feel like I&#39;ve exhausted every idea and not sure how to move forward.Just for the record, I am running El Capitan 10.9.2 with a 2.4gh Intel Core 2 Duo and 4gb ram.It&#39;s not the fastest machine for sure but should be capable of running Android Studio and the emulator. 

Any help or guidance resolving this problem is gratefully appreciated!

AVD Emulator stuck on loading screen in Android Studio

I installed via `apt-get install android-sdk`.

However, doing a `find / -name sdkmanager` reveals there is no such binary anywhere on the system.

On my Mac, the binary exists in `$ANDROID_HOME/tools/bin`.

However, on the Ubuntu system (the system with the issue), the binary does not exist there:

    $ ls $ANDROID_HOME/tools/bin
    e2fsck
    fsck.ext4
    mkfs.ext4
    resize2fs
    screenshot2
    tune2fs

Where is the `sdkmanager`?

Not sure why the above didn&#39;t install `sdkmanager`, however, one solution I found was to install manually (instead of via apt-get) by downloading the Linux files at https://developer.android.com/studio/#downloads under the &quot;Command line tools only&quot; header.

There are a **lot of system images** piling up on my disk in the android sdk folder. i hardly use the emulator. May be once in 6 months. Most of my development is directly on device. What i wanted to check was, **will removing the system images (at least for the old APIS i.e. &lt; 22) impact the development?**

**Also, the google apis folder seen below. Should i keep it for all versions or just the one in the latest suffice?**

I just downloaded and installed the new Android SDK. I wanted to create a simple application to test drive it.

The wizard created this code:

R cannot be resolved - Android error

I have installed Android Studio on my MacBook Air (OS Version 10.11 El Capitan) and have successfully written a small &quot;hello, world&quot; app and installed on device (Nexus 7) and ran on AVD.  All I want to do now is be able to build the app and install it on device from the command line as opposed to Android Studio.  I&#39;m following the directions here:

The problem is I can&#39;t find the Android SDK on my machine!  I assume it&#39;s there because otherwise the program wouldn&#39;t compile and run through Android Studio?  Perhaps that&#39;s a bad assumption?  I&#39;m new to Macs (I&#39;m used to Windows) so I don&#39;t know the best way to search for the Android SDK.  So my questions:

1.  How do I find Android SDK on my machine? Or prove to myself it&#39;s not there?
2.  If it&#39;s not there how do I install it?
3.  How do I change PATH to include Android SDK?

I was trying to start a flutter project for an App using bluetooth to communicate. For that, I was using [flutter blue][1].

Unfortunately, when trying to run (on an Android device) the first example I created I was met with the following error:

After updating to **Android Gradle plugin** `3.6.0` (released Feb 24, 2020), several project independently started failing with:

    No version of NDK matched the requested version 20.0.5594570. Versions available locally: 21.0.6113669

It&#39;s quite simple to &quot;fix&quot; this locally by installing the older expected ndk version:

However, my question is: Where and how is this older version specified? And how do I update it so it matches the latest version `21.0.6113669`?

I downloaded the latest Android SDK tools version 24.4.1. I used the command line to install SDKs. I typed `y` when asked

But when using Gradle 3.1 to build, the follows shows up

I checked `~/.android` and `/opt/android-sdk` where Android tools are put. Neither contain folder named `licenses`.

Since gradle android plugins [2.2-alpha4][1]:

Failed to run sdkmanager --list with Java 9

I rarely do something for Android so I&#39;m a bit confused. While back there were two type of installations - Android Studio and just Android SDK. I have IDEA so I don&#39;t need Studio. Typically I download SDK that have UI tool to download its components.

I just got https://dl.google.com/android/repository/tools_r25.2.3-linux.zip and I can&#39;t see UI SDK Manager in it. There is `bin/sdkmanager` shell script. But it&#39;s kinda inconvenient for my purpose because going through output of `--list`, copy-pasting packages names and running `sdkmanager` would take too much time.

What&#39;s the way of installing this quickly now ?

PS. I&#39;m on Ubuntu 16.10 in case it matters.

PS2. I just tried `sdkmanager &quot;platforms;android-25&quot;` as per [documentation][1] but it gave no output after me agreeing to terms. Where did it install SDK files? Did it even install it? Amazing.

Is GUI for Android SDK manager gone?

I&#39;m attempting to build my first F# Android project in Visual Studio 2017 *(Community Edition)*.

Immediately after creating a new project by using the F# - Android - Blank App template, the error window in Visual Studio displays the following message:

&gt; The project Foo is missing Android SDKs required for building. Double-click on this message and follow the prompts to install them.

No amount of double-clicking on the message causes prompts to appear.

Flutter does not find android sdk

I&#39;m trying to get set up with an Android development environment using IntelliJ in Ubuntu 12.04. I create an Android Application Module, but when I try to build, I get the following error:

Android Hello-World compile error: Intellij cannot find aapt

Since updating to `ADT` 14 I can no longer build my project. It was building fine prior to updating. 

The error:

Similar issues have been reported and I have tried the suggestions there including

 - Restarting `Eclipse`.
 - Cleaning the project and rebuild - Disable &quot;Project-&gt;Build Automatically&quot; option, then &quot;Clean&quot; and &quot;Build&quot; project, then try to run. reset &quot;Build Automatically&quot; option to On
 - Re-installing the `Android` Developer Tools
 - Re-installing Eclipse (updated to the latest version 3.7.1)
 - Created a new project importing from the file system
 - Created a new project from subversion.

I just installed Eclipse and Android SDK in Mac OS X.

I imported the project to Eclipse and i get the Unknown command &#39;crunch&#39; error while running the project.

I am facing an issue on ubuntu 12.04 as :

Please suggest a solution.

Would you please help me, I am stuck to create a new project in react-native Like below screenshot. I have able to run old projects. but I am not able to run a new project

I still do not fully understand all the tools.  The following is my limited understanding based on Google&#39;s latest documents:

 - **Android SDK Build-tools** used to be components of **Android SDK Platform-tools**. They have been decoupled from Android SDK Platform-tools, so that the build tools can be updated independently of the integrated development environment (IDE) components.
 - **Android SDK Platform-tools** are customized to support the features of the latest Android platform.  They are backward compatible so that you always use the latest update of **Android SDK Platform-tools** even your app targets older Android platforms.
 - **SDK tools** are platform independent and are required no matter which Android platform you are developing on. 

I still do not understand the rationale of taking **Android SDK Build-tools** out of **Android SDK Platform-tools** which has a single instance and is easy to manage the update. The only possible reason that I can think of is that some apps have to rely on older build components to build them.  Google&#39;s document mentions this, but does not explain why. Looking at the release notes, you will notice that updates of **Android SDK Build-tools** are primarily for fixing bugs or/add support for new platforms. The only reason that I can think of for some apps to use older versions of **Android SDK Build-tools** is that they rely on certain bugs of **Android SDK Build-tools**. These apps would not function normally without being built with these bugs.  I wish Google could explain this better by giving one or two examples showing why these bugs in the tools are critical for certain apps.

What are the Android SDK build-tools, platform-tools and tools? And which version should be used?

Could anybody post a working solution for setting `ANDROID_HOME` via the terminal?

My path to the Android-SDK is `/Applications/ADT/sdk`.


Setting ANDROID_HOME enviromental variable on Mac OS X

I&#39;m developing android and ios app with Google [flutter][1].  
when I add a new dependency like `shared_preferences` to `pubspec.yaml` and then execute `flutter run` in terminal, I got this error:  

&gt; * What went wrong: A problem occurred configuring project &#39;:shared_preferences&#39;.  
&gt; You have not accepted the license agreements of the following SDK components:   [Android SDK Platform 27].

I know why it happens! because the latest Android SDK platform on my system is 26 . it trys to download sdk 27 and then fails. no problem! I go to library cached folder which located here :   
&gt; C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\Pub\Cache\hosted\pub.dartlang.org\shared_preferences-0.3.1\android  

and edit `build.gradle` file and change `compileSdkVersion 27` to `compileSdkVersion 26`. it works.  
so far I have to do this for all new dependencies,   
**Is there any way such as defining a global build.gradle file for all dependencies?** so no need to edit each `buil.gradle`s individually.
