How do I bind a List&lt;CustomObject&gt; to a WPF DataGrid?

I need to present a large number of rows of data (ie. millions of rows) to the user in a grid using JavaScript.

The user shouldn&#39;t see pages or view only finite amounts of data at a time.

Rather, it should appear that all of the data are available.

Instead of downloading the data all at once, small chunks are downloaded as the user comes to them (ie. by scrolling through the grid).

The rows will not be edited through this front end, so read-only grids are acceptable.

What data grids, written in JavaScript, exist for this kind of seamless paging?

I bind my datagrid using

For some reason I get an empty row at the bottom. And sometimes after clicking on some buttons and checkboxes in the grid, more empty rows are added.

Why is this? And how do I block this?

I have a DataGrid with first column as text column and second column as CheckBox column. What I want is, if I click the check box. It should get checked.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;
But, it takes two click to get selected, for first click the cell is getting selected, for the second clicks the check box is getting checked. How to make the check box to get checked/unchecked with a single click.

I am using DataGrids in XAML (not Silverlight) with resizable columns, the DataGrid will expand if the user resizes the screen.

Currently if the widths of all the DataGrid columns are less than the width of the DataGrid I get an extra &quot;column&quot; appearing which is unclickable and serves no purpose.

Does anyone know how to make one column always resize to fill all the remaining space?

My WPF application generates sets of data which may have a different number of columns each time.  Included in the output is a description of each column that will be used to apply formatting.  A simplified version of the output might be something like:

I&#39;m constructing a datagrid in Windows Presentation Foundation, and I have a problem. When a user double-clicks on a cell in my datagrid, the cell goes into edit mode. I want to prevent that. Instead I want users to be able to select the full row - not edit values in it.

When the event is raised for the FileWatcher, because it creates a separate thread, when I try to run dataGridRows.Add(ds); to add the new row, the program just crashes without any warning given during debug mode.

In Winforms, this was easily solved by utilizing the Invoke function but I am not sure how to go about this in WPF.

This renders fine. However on the **Button_Click** method, is there any way I can get the row on the datagrid where the button resides? More specifically, one of the properties of my objects is &quot;Id&quot;, and I&#39;d like to be able to pass this into the constructor of another form in the event handler.

Button in a column, getting the row from which it came on the Click event handler

I&#39;ve got a `DataGrid` with a row that has an image. This image is bound with a trigger to a certain state. When the state changes I want to change the image.

The template itself is set on the `HeaderStyle` of a `DataGridTemplateColumn`. This template has some bindings. The first binding Day shows what day it is and the State changes the image with a trigger.

These properties are set in a ViewModel.

This is really annoying.

I&#39;ve seen some references to this problem [here][1] and on various locations on the web, with no real solution.

I can verify that the clipboard is locked when this exception is raised in Visual Studio, as I couldn&#39;t copy paste the message (had to write it to a file). Also, the clipboard wasn&#39;t locked before the copy process started.

How to solve this problem?

I&#39;m new to WPF. I just want to know how should we add columns and rows programmatically to a DataGrid in WPF. The way we used to do it in windows forms. create table columns and rows, and bind it to DataGrid. 


I believe WPF DataGrid is bit different the one used in ASP.net and Windows form (correct me if I am wrong).

I have No. of rows and columns which I need to draw in DataGrid so that user can edit the data in the cells.

I have a `DataGrid`, bound to Database table, I need to get the content of selected row in `DataGrid`, for example, I want to show in `MessageBox` content of selected row.

Get selected row item in DataGrid WPF

simple question: How can I set a padding on a dataGridCell in WPF?
(either one at a time or on all cells, I don&#39;t care)

I have tried using the `DataGrid.CellStyle` property by adding a setter on the `DataGridCell.Padding` property as well as using the `DataGridColumn.CellStyle` property in the same way with no effect.

I also tried using the `DataGridColumn.ElementStyle` property with no more luck.

I&#39;m kind of stuck there, has anyone managed to get a padding applied on a dataGridCell?

NB: I&#39;ll add that no, I cannot use transparent borders to do this, since I already use the border properties for something else. I also cannot use the margin property (which seems to work, surprisingly enough) as I use the background property and I don&#39;t want any &quot;blank&quot; space between my cells.

Date formatting in WPF datagrid

When I run the following **Northwind WPF Toolkit Datagrid** code from [this article][1], I get a datagrid, but there are **no scrollbars** and hence the user can only see part of the datagrid. I am using the newest version March 2009. 

**What do I need to specify so that the WPF Datagrid has scrollbars?**

I tried putting the datagrid in a ScrollViewer but that didn&#39;t help.

how can I enable scrollbars on the WPF Datagrid?

I&#39;m using a WPF4.0 DataGrid. When double clicking on a cell in a new row everything works fine **unless** I&#39;ve added a cell style to that column. For example, I have a numeric column where I want the data right aligned so the xaml looks like this

The resulting selectable area on a new row is shown in the image as that small blue area.This is a very small target for the user to hit, and this happens to be the most likely column they will want to start with on a new row.

If I remove the CellStyle, the area works as desired but of course I lose the right alignment.

Does anyone know how to achieve both? 

**Things I tried** 

 1. Setting TargetNullValue on the binding to a format with some width.
    This works on existing rows but has no effect on a new row. 
 2. Setting MinWidth on the column, this did not affect the width of the new row selectable
    area.

I&#39;ve already tried setting the BorderBrush and BorderThickness like so:

What must be done to get a WPF DataGrid with cells that wrap text instead of truncating it?

Right now when a text is bigger and don&#39;t fit in a column the text is truncated and users can&#39;t see it value cos the DataGrid&#39;s IsReadOnly property is true. What I want is that the text in cells be wrapped and the cell height (NO CELL WIDTH) increased the amount needed to show all the text.

I want to create a `DataGrid` control in WPF in which there is a button in the first cell of each row. Clicking this button will show `RowDetailsTemplate` or the SubRow.

However, when I try to use the same code from within ViewModel, it doesn‘t work (`FindResource` is not available), besides, I don’t think this is the right approach (i.e. to use `x:Key` in MVVM).

I would really appreciate any help to point me what is the right way to implement `CollectionViewSource` and `DataBinding` with `DataGrid`.
