I&#39;m new to MVC, and am not following how you&#39;d do paging and sorting on a grid.  I&#39;m used to using the asp.Net GridView control with an ObjectDataSource pointed at objects in our business layer - and in that case the ODS handles all of the paging &amp; sorting using the methods that our ORM generates on the objects.


I&#39;ve looked at using the same ORM with MVC - and things work out fine there - i just loop thru the collections to build the table on the page - but without the ODS to handle the paging &amp; sorting, i&#39;m confused as to how I&#39;d handle that.  Would I have a separate controller for the paging and sorting? 

I understand that I need to roll my own - but where do I start?  I&#39;ve created a CustomerController, and a view that displays a table of customers that looks like below - and I want to sort on FirstName or LastName columns.  My Model has a Sort() method on it that&#39;ll take a string sort expression in the format that would be used by a GridView/ODS pair.  Would I create a new Action on my CustomerController called Sort, and put an ActionLink in my header?

Paging &amp; Sorting grids with ASP.Net MVC

I have a `GridView` with an associated `DataKey`, which is the item ID.
How do I retrieve that value inside the `RowCommand` event?

This seems to work, but I don&#39;t like the cast to `LinkButton` (what if some other command is firing the event?), and I&#39;m not too confident about the `NamingContainer` bit.

How to autosize and right-align GridViewColumn data in WPF?

There are &lt;em&gt;lots&lt;/em&gt; of solutions on the internet attempting to fill this seemingly very-basic omission from WPF. I&#39;m really confused as to what would be the &quot;best&quot; way. For example... I want there to be little up/down arrows in the column header to indicate sort direction. There are apparently like 3 different ways to do this, some using code, some using markup, some using markup-plus-code, and all seeming rather like a hack.

Has anyone run into this problem before, and found a solution they are completely happy with? It seems bizarre that such a basic WinForms piece of functionality is missing from WPF and needs to be hacked in.

Best way to make WPF ListView/GridView sort on column-header clicking?

In C# how do I still show the headers of a gridview, even with the data source is empty. 

I am not auto generating the columns as they are all predefined. 

Currently what I am doing is the following.

Get a DataTable back from a stored procedure, then set the DataSource of the gridview, and then call DataBind().

This works fine when I have data, but when no rows are returned then I just get a blank spot where the grid should be.

What I don&#39;t understand is why the line `android:columnWidth=&quot;60dp&quot;` is necessary, because [auto_fit](http://developer.android.com/reference/android/widget/GridView.html#attr_android:numColumns) is expected to find the right number of columns.  
Without the line `android:columnWidth=&quot;60dp&quot;`, it displays a grid 3 rows and 2 columns.

Grid of images inside ScrollView

I have a problem with a ScrollView that has inside of it a personalized GridView and other tipe of views.The first time I start the Activity, the ScrollView starts at its top, but if I visit the Activity other times the ScrollView starts at the beginning of the GridView.I used the class ExpandableHeightGridView found in [this link][1] for my GridView.

I&#39;ve tried using the code `scrollView.fullScroll(ScrollView.FOCUS_UP);` but it didn&#39;t work.And even with `scrollView.scrollTo(0, 0);` I didn&#39;t have success.
The only code that worked was:

        scrollView.post(new Runnable() 
          { 
             public void run() { 
                 scrollViewLuogo.fullScroll(ScrollView.FOCUS_UP); 
             } 
          });

but it makes a fast animation from the top of the GridView to the top of the screen and i don&#39;t like it.

Any suggestion??
