How to use ScrollView in Android?

I have a very long activity with a scrollview. It is a form with various fields that the user must fill in. I have a checkbox half way down my form, and when the user checks it I want to scroll to a specific part of the view. Is there any way to scroll to an EditText object (or any other view object) programmatically?

Also, I know this is possible using X and Y coords but I want to avoid doing this as the form may changed from user to user.

Is there a way to programmatically scroll a scroll view to a specific edit text?

I have a `ScrollView` which holds a series of `Views`.  I would like to be able to determine if a view is currently visible (if any part of it is currently displayed by the `ScrollView`). I would expect the below code to do this, surprisingly it does not:

Android: how to check if a View inside of ScrollView is visible?

For part of my app, the user is presented with a list of names and is asked to group them as they see fit. 

(Note, the ListView code was copied verbatim from the Android Views tutorial.  I haven&#39;t yet customized it to my needs, I&#39;m just trying to figure out how to make this work.)

The basic layout is a LinearLayout, containing a ScrollView (called &quot;groupsScrollView&quot; in the code below), containing a RelativeLayout.  I have some buttons and text, and then my ListView beneath that, which displays the list of names.  All this is taller than the visible screen area, so the user is allowed to scroll vertically to see it all.

This all works beautifully, except when the page loads it is always pre-scrolled to the top of my ListView - in the middle of the page.  The text and buttons I&#39;ve created that tell the user what to do are not visible.  

I can grab the screen and scroll up, that works just fine, but I&#39;d like the screen to load having already been scrolled to the top.  The user shouldn&#39;t have to scroll UP to see the top of a freshly loaded page.  But everything I&#39;ve tried to programmatically scroll to the top of the screen has failed.

Here&#39;s my onCreate method:

The line &quot;mainScrollView.pageScroll(View.FOCUS_UP); is the problem.  It doesn&#39;t cause an error, but it doesn&#39;t seem to do anything.  I&#39;ve tried scrollTo(0,0), scrollDirection(View.FOCUS_UP), and everything else I can think of.  

Since I don&#39;t get an error I have to assume that these scroll commands are actually working, but that they&#39;re scrolling to the top of the ListView, rather than the top of the ScrollView or RelativeLayout that contains it.  This seems to be confirmed by Google&#39;s own description of the scrollTo(int x, int y) method where they say &quot;This version also clamps the scrolling to the bounds of our child.&quot;.  

So to make a long question even longer, how do I load a bunch of views on the screen contained within a ScrollView, and then programmatically scroll the whole thing to the top of the page so the user can interact with it?

How to scroll to top of long ScrollView layout?

I am having trouble with a scrolling `ListView` inside a `ScrollView`. I have an Activity which has some EditTexts in the top part and then a tab host with two tabs which have one ListView each. When the EditText views are focused, the soft keyboard comes up and as I  have a ScrollView, the content is scrollable. But the problem comes when there are more items in ListViews (ones in tabs), I am not able to scroll the ListView, even if there are more items.

View inside ScrollView doesn&#39;t take all place

I am using a `HorizontalScrollView` in a layout and I need to identify the user have reached the start and end point of the scroll.

For `ListView` I have tried a the `onScrollListener` and it is possible to find the start and end point of scroll.

I tried to do the same in my `Scrollview` but it seems not possible. Is there any other possible ways to achieve what I need.

Can I have onScrollListener for a ScrollView?

I&#39;m really tired looking for a solution for vertical and horizontal Scrollview.

I read that there are not any views/layouts in the framework which implement this feature, but I need something like this:

I need to define a layout within other, the child layout must implement scrolling vertical/horizontal for moving.

Initially implemented a code that moved the layout pixel by pixel, but I think that is not the right way.
I tried it with ScrollView and Horizontal ScrollView but nothing works like I want it to, because it only implements vertical or horizontal scrolling.

Canvas is not my solution because I need to attach listeners in someones child elements.

First a little background:

I have a layout inside a scrollview. At first, when the user scrolls on the screen, the scrollview scrolls. However, after a certain amount of scroll, I was to disable the scroll on the scroll view the move the &quot;scroll focus&quot; onto a webview inside the child layout. This way, the scrollview sticks and all the scroll events go to the webview inside it.

So, for a solution, when the scroll threshold is reached, I remove the child layout from the scrollview and put it in scrollview&#39;s parent.(And make the scrollview invisible).

I&#39;m having trouble with my code. I&#39;m trying to move the `UIScrollView` when I&#39;m editing an `UITextField` that should be hidden by the keyboard pop.

I&#39;m moving the main frame right now because I don&#39;t know how to &#39;scroll up&#39; in the code.
So, I did a little bit of code, it&#39;s working fine but when I edit an UItextfield and I switch to another `UITextField` without pressing on the &#39;return&#39; button the main view goes waaayyyyy to far up.

I did an `NSLog()` with my variables size, distance and textFieldRect.origin.y as you can see below. When I put two `UITextField` at the same place (y origin) and I do this particular &#39;switch&#39; (wihtout pressing return) , I get the same numbers, whereas my code worked fine for the first `UITextField` editing but not for the second editing.

My Android app has a main WebView (HTML loaded from a local resource) which I want to use the entire width of the screen and be able to make (vertically) scrollable. So I&#39;ve wrapped the WebView in a ScrollView in my layout XML, but no matter what I do I can&#39;t seem to be able to remove the scroll bar track from the right side of the scroll view. Even worse, I can&#39;t seem to be able to change the background colour of the scroll bar track.

The track takes up about 10dp&#39;s or so, which is creating problems for the HTML in the WebView. I&#39;d like the scroll bar to appear *on top* of the web view (iPhone style, if you know what I mean). Now, you could say &quot;why don&#39;t you change your HTML to be 10px thinner?&quot;, which is my fallback solution, but I&#39;d much rather not have to.

I need to make body part scrollable. How can i implement that scroll.
If there is any custom scroll method existing. i have tried `Scrollable` and `SingleChildScrollView` but does not meet up with my needs.
When i used `SinglechildScrollView` it occurs an error  BoxConstraints forces an infinite height. if i removed LayoutBuilder it causes A `RenderFlex overflowed by 22 pixels on the bottom` error

How to scroll page in flutter

I have a &#39;page&#39; that has a number of components on it, and who&#39;s content is longer than the height of the device.  Fine, just put all of the layout (the entire page) inside a `ScrollView`, no problem.

One of the components is a `ViewPager`.  This renders correctly, but the response to a swipe/fling is not performing correctly, it is jittery and doesn&#39;t always work.  It seems to be getting &#39;confused&#39; with the `ScrollView`, so only works 100% when you fling in an exact horizontal line.

If I remove the `ScrollView`, the ViewPager responds perfectly.

I&#39;ve had a search around and have not found this as a known defect.
Has anyone else experienced this?

ViewPager inside a ScrollView does not scroll correclty

I&#39;m using a `ScrollView` in Android and where the visible portion of the `ScrollView` is the same size as one of the cells inside the `Scrollview`. Every &quot;cell&quot; is the same height. So what I am trying to do is snap into position after the `ScrollView` has been scrolled. 

Currently I am detecting when the user has touched the `ScrollView` and when they&#39;ve started scrolling and working it out from there, but it is quite buggy. It also needs to work when the user just flicks it and it scrolls and then decelerates.

On iPhone there is a function that is something like `didDecelerate` and there I can do any code I want when the `ScrollView` has finished scrolling. Is there such a thing with Android? Or is there some code I could look at to figure out a better way of doing it?

I&#39;m using React Native and I&#39;m having trouble retaining vertical centering of elements as soon as I introduce a ScrollView.  To demonstrate, I created 3 apps with React Native Playground.  All examples have 2 pages, and they can be toggled by tapping the blue button.

**Example 1:**

This first example shows blocks centered vertically on page 2.  This happens because the container has these styles applied to it:

    justifyContent: &#39;center&#39;,

However, there&#39;s a problem as soon as you switch to page 2, because the entire content of the page doesn&#39;t fit, so we need a `ScrollView`.

**Example 2**

In this example, I wrap everything inside of a ScrollView.  This allows page 2 to scroll, but now I lost the vertical centering of Page 1.

**Example 3**

In order to try and get back the vertical centering of Page 1, I apply `flex: 1` to the `contentContainerStyle` of ScrollView.  This fixes the vertical centering on page 1, but I&#39;m no longer able to scroll all the way down to the bottom on page 2.

How to scroll the edittext inside the scrollview

I have added a scrollview and the subchilds inside the scrollview. At some point i need to scroll to a specific view.

The above layout was created dynamically. so i can&#39;t have the xml file posted here. Layout creation is completely dynamic. Even the number of child view inside the linearlayout may also vary.

So when i click on the button i need to get scrolled to a particular view say here when i click on button i need to scroll to the linear layout 4. 
I tried with the scrollTo method but it scrolls to the top of the scrollview. 

Please provide some suggestions.

Scroll to a specific view in scroll view

I&#39;m trying to make a layout like this:

The problem is that I don&#39;t want the `ListViews` to be scrollable. **I want them to be as high as they need to and make the whole screen be scrollable.** If I set the height of the `ListView` to `wrap_content`, that doesn&#39;t work. The only way to make it work is to set a specific height - but I don&#39;t know how many items will be in the `ListView`.

**I know that I should not put `ListView` inside `ScrollView`** - but I don&#39;t want the `ListView` to be scrollable, just to show all items.

Maybe there is a better way to make it work?


 

Non-scrollable ListView inside ScrollView

I have to design layout such that whole layout should scroll and inside layout I have to display related content in `Grid` form so I decided to use `GridView`.But problem is that I’m unable to use `GridView` inside `ScrollView` I have read documentation(Documentation also saying that we should not use `GridView` inside `ScrollView`) also.But I have to do this,so can any please give me some idea about this.Thanks

How to put GridView inside ScrollView

I&#39;m trying to create a screen with both text and images. I want the images to be laid out like a grid, as shown below, but I want them to have no scroll functionality other that the one provided by the surrounding ScrollView.

Grid of images inside ScrollView

I have a problem with a ScrollView that has inside of it a personalized GridView and other tipe of views.The first time I start the Activity, the ScrollView starts at its top, but if I visit the Activity other times the ScrollView starts at the beginning of the GridView.I used the class ExpandableHeightGridView found in [this link][1] for my GridView.

I&#39;ve tried using the code `scrollView.fullScroll(ScrollView.FOCUS_UP);` but it didn&#39;t work.And even with `scrollView.scrollTo(0, 0);` I didn&#39;t have success.
The only code that worked was:

        scrollView.post(new Runnable() 
          { 
             public void run() { 
                 scrollViewLuogo.fullScroll(ScrollView.FOCUS_UP); 
             } 
          });

but it makes a fast animation from the top of the GridView to the top of the screen and i don&#39;t like it.

Android ScrollView doesn&#39;t start at top, but at the beginning of the GridView

    -ViewController
    --View
    ---ScrollView (Top,Bottom,Leading,Trailing spaces to superview set to 0)
    ----ContentView (Top,Bottom,Leading,Trailing spaces to superview set to 0, Width equals with View (ViewController&#39;s child))

If i set a specific height constraint for my content view (e.g. 1000) the ScrollView works fine, but i got a static ContentView of 1000, which is not my goal, because my contentView got dynamic content, so it should be the height the content needs.

If i delete the height constraint for my ContentView, Xcode says:

    Missing Constraints:
    ScrollView need constraints for: Y position or height

ScrollView is actually pinned at top and bottom, so i don&#39;t know why Xcode want&#39;s a height constraint for the ScrollView...

What is the right way to go, when i want the ContentView height to be the height the content needs?

ScrollView doesn&#39;t scroll to the bottom

I&#39;m new to React Native, so am probably asking something very obvious, but please help.

I have a view wrapped in a touchable, so that the whole area responds to tapping. Then have a ScrollView nested inside the view. The overall structure is something like this:

            &lt;ScrollView&gt;
                &lt;Text&gt;Hello, here is a very long text that needs scrolling.&lt;/Text&gt;

    &lt;/TouchableWithoutFeedback&gt;

When this compiles and runs, the tapping is detected, but the scroll view doesn&#39;t scroll at all. I made the above code short and simple, but each component has the proper styling and I can see everything rendering fine and the long text is cutoff at the bottom of the ScrollView. Please help.

how to change color of the actual scroll in ScrollView android?

I&#39;m new to Flutter so I train myself by making a simple form. I realized while I was debugging on my iPhone the virtual keyboard triggered an error: `&quot;A RenderFlex overflowed by 29 pixels on the bottom&quot;`. I fixed this issue by wrapping my Container inside a `SingleChildScrollView`. 

The problem now is my Column&#39;s content is no longer centered. I can&#39;t figure out why ...

I added the property &quot;mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.center&quot; to my Column. It worked well before I wrapped it into the SingleChildScrollView.


If someone could help me and explain me why it doesn&#39;t work anymore I would really appreciated it :) 


Center widget vertically inside a SingleChildScrollView

Android&#39;s ScrollView (when scrolled or fling&#39;d) likes to set the focus of an EditText when it&#39;s one of it&#39;s children. It happens when you scroll and then release. Is there anyway to stop this behavior? I&#39;ve tried nearly everything I can think of and everything I&#39;ve read on StackOverflow. Nothing has worked for me. Below is an example layout If you&#39;d like to test it out. I&#39;m desperate to stop this dumb behavior.

Stop ScrollView from setting focus on EditText

I am building an Android application that uses the custom-built TwoDScrollView found here:

This same class can be found referenced at several other websites, and others on Stack Overflow have asked questions with regard to it.  I was using it in a previous Android application that I was building using Java/Eclipse, and I was having success.

With my current application, I wanted to use C# and MonoDroid.  I decided to rewrite the entire TwoDScrollView class in C#.  After rewriting it, and then using it in some layout XML, I get the following exceptions when trying to run my code:

The constructors to the TwoDScrollView class look as follows:

I can post the full C# code of my TwoDScrollView if anyone would like to see it.  It&#39;s essentially the same as the Java code bit for bit - except rewritten in C#.
