The WPF `DataGrid` has an `IsReadOnly` property that you can set to `True` to ensure that users cannot edit your `DataGrid`&#39;s cells.

You can also set this value for individual columns in your `DataGrid` as needed.

The DataGrid has an XAML property `IsReadOnly` that you can set to `true`:

If you want to disable editing the entire grid, you can set IsReadOnly to true on the grid.
If you want to disable user to add new rows, you set the property CanUserAddRows=&quot;False&quot;

Further more you can set IsReadOnly on individual columns to disable editing.

After the installation of OSX Lion, I tried to:

But I get this error:

I&#39;ve got a `DataGrid` with a row that has an image. This image is bound with a trigger to a certain state. When the state changes I want to change the image.

The template itself is set on the `HeaderStyle` of a `DataGridTemplateColumn`. This template has some bindings. The first binding Day shows what day it is and the State changes the image with a trigger.

These properties are set in a ViewModel.

WPF Error: Cannot find governing FrameworkElement for target element

I&#39;m using a WPF4.0 DataGrid. When double clicking on a cell in a new row everything works fine **unless** I&#39;ve added a cell style to that column. For example, I have a numeric column where I want the data right aligned so the xaml looks like this

The resulting selectable area on a new row is shown in the image as that small blue area.This is a very small target for the user to hit, and this happens to be the most likely column they will want to start with on a new row.

If I remove the CellStyle, the area works as desired but of course I lose the right alignment.

Does anyone know how to achieve both? 

**Things I tried** 

 1. Setting TargetNullValue on the binding to a format with some width.
    This works on existing rows but has no effect on a new row. 
 2. Setting MinWidth on the column, this did not affect the width of the new row selectable
    area.

Date formatting in WPF datagrid

I want to hide (or remove) all the borders of all the rows (and subsequently cells) in my datagrid, think a basic [HTML table][1]. I&#39;ve looked all over and most questions seem to be about styling them and not hiding them.

I&#39;ve already tried setting the BorderBrush and BorderThickness like so:

When the event is raised for the FileWatcher, because it creates a separate thread, when I try to run dataGridRows.Add(ds); to add the new row, the program just crashes without any warning given during debug mode.

In Winforms, this was easily solved by utilizing the Invoke function but I am not sure how to go about this in WPF.

In my XAML code, I want to set the `Background` color of each row, based on a value of the object in one specific row. I have an `ObservableCollection` of `z`, and each of the `z` has a property called `State`. I started out with something like this in my `DataGrid`:

I could bind the color to `SelectedItem`, but this will only change one row in the `DataGrid`.

How can I, based on one property change this rows backgroundcolor?
