I recently wiped my Mac and reinstalled OSX El Capitan public beta 3. I installed pip with `sudo easy_install pip` and installed virtualenv with `sudo pip install virtualenv` and did not have any problems.

Now, when I try to `sudo pip install virtualenvwrapper`, I get the following:

As the issue seems to be with the `six` package, manually trying to uninstall it with `sudo pip uninstall six` results in the same error. The output suggests using the `-H` flag as well, but I still get pretty much the same error:

Trouble installing m2crypto with pip on OS X / macOS

I am trying to move something to **/usr/bin** on OS X El Capitan. I have disabled rootless using the following commands: `sudo nvram boot-args=&quot;rootless=0&quot;; sudo reboot`,  but I keep getting the same error:

Setting environment variables via launchd.conf no longer works in OS X Yosemite/El Capitan/macOS Sierra/Mojave?

I&#39;ve been using `PDFTK` Server on `OSX pre 10.11` for over a year without any issues running commands on the command line.

After installing OSX 10.11 beta, I can no longer run any `PDFTK` Server commands on the command line.  It does not throw any error, all the commands I try to execute just hang indefinitely.

I installed from a pkg I downloaded from the `PDFTK` Server website as always:

I&#39;ve also tried installing from source with Homebrew.  The installation works, but I get the same results, the commands just hang in the terminal:

**I&#39;ve sent in the complaint to Apple via their Feedback Assistant application that gets installed when installing the beta two months ago without a response.**

I&#39;ve been told regarding the Apple Feedback Assistant:

&gt; Feedback Assistant for major bugs of the operating system where they
&gt; need additional information. It is not a way to obtain support, even
&gt; less so for a third-party application.

On OS X, I don&#39;t know how to go about figuring out if there is now a permission or path or even a Java issue after the upgrade.

Any help either trouble shooting the root cause or offering a fix is appreciated.

PDFtk Server on OS X 10.11

I just updated my Mac to OSX 10.11 El Capitan and some gems didn&#39;t remain.

The problem arose when I tried to run installations of different gems... e.g.:

    &gt; sudo gem install compass

Once I execute, I get the error:

    &gt; ERROR:  While executing gem ... (Errno::EPERM) Operation not permitted

This happens with other gems, as well...

I&#39;ve run Homebrew and tried to install Ruby again, but nothing is working.

I need to clean install vscode on my mac. I opened the terminal and removed the `.vscode/` from `~`. I also delete the `Visual Studio Code.app/` from `/`. However, after deleting all that and download a fresh copy, I installed and open the editor and the editor remembered the last project I had. For me, that means that it is something else I need to delete but I can&#39;t find it. I went to the documentation but can&#39;t find anything about uninstalling the editor. Does anyone know how to completely uninstall VSCode from mac?

I get the following error

I just wiped my Mac and did a fresh install of El Capitan. I&#39;m struggling to connect to Mysql now. Having gone through a web server setup process, I&#39;ve created a simple PHP test file:

I&#39;ve never seen that response from a connection before. How do I fix it if I can&#39;t connect?

In terminal I entered the command:

`mysql -u root -p`

This asked me for my password (current one) which I put in. I now have access to mysql commands but anything I try results in this error:

    ERROR 1820 (HY000): You must reset your password using ALTER USER statement before executing this statement.

How do I reset the password using `ALTER USER`?

I would like to auto start the MySQL server on startup. This was possible in Mavericks but seems to be not working on Yosemite.

After upgrading OS X my install of MySQL stopped loading on startup.

This [walk-through on MySQL][1] says:

So, I opened that file and it says:

I assume OSX dev&#39;s added the `# This file is going away` but I&#39;m not certain.

How to auto-load MySQL on startup on OS X Yosemite / El Capitan

It looks like in OS X 10.11 El Capitan, `dtruss` and `dtrace` can no longer do what they&#39;re meant to do. This is the error I get when I try to run `sudo dtruss curl ...`:

After upgrading from OS X Yosemite to OS X El Capitan Developer Preview, I tried to edit  **/System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ssh.plist** to change the default SSH port to a custom one. This is the process I&#39;ve been using for a couple of years.

The problem is that El Capitan doesn&#39;t allow me to change anything in this folder (not even with &quot;sudo&quot;). The folder and its files are marked as **&quot;restricted&quot;** when I list the contents with **&quot;ls -lO&quot;**. The same folder listing in previous versions of OS X does not show &quot;restricted&quot;.

Is this something new to OS X El Capitan? How can I edit files/folders that are **&quot;restricted&quot;**?

I found out this is due to a new feature introduced in **El Capitan** called **&quot;SIP&quot; (System Intregrity Protection)**.

I have erased and installed `OSX 10.11 El Capitan` and I have been following through [this tutorial][1] to get `MySQL` up and running on the new OS X. The first step was to download [MySQL For Mac OS X 10.9 (x86, 64-bit), DMG Archive][2] (works on 10.11, they recommended in the tutorial). While I were finishing installing the MySQL, I got the message saying that :

That was weird, I have never seen that kind of message. After that, I started MySQL via the Preference Pane and then use `/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql -v` command on the terminal for another step. I got an error message saying that : 

`ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user &#39;cheetah&#39;@&#39;localhost&#39; (using password: NO)`

I have also tried to access database through `Sequel Pro` using root as username and blank password, I got access denied message saying that : 

    Unable to connect to host 127.0.0.1 because access was denied.
    
    Double-check your username and password and ensure that access from your current location is permitted.
    
    MySQL said: Access denied for user &#39;root&#39;@&#39;localhost&#39; (using password: NO)

Okay, I also tried this again using root as a username but &#39;R&gt;gFySuiu23U&#39;  as a password (which was generated from MySQL). I got connection failed message saying that :

    Unable to connect to host 127.0.0.1, or the request timed out.
    
    Be sure that the address is correct and that you have the necessary privileges, or try increasing the connection timeout (currently 10 seconds).
    
    MySQL said: Your password has expired. To log in you must change it using a client that supports expired passwords.

How could I solve this problem? I remember that MySQL has never got automatically generated a temporary password like this, hasn&#39;t it ?

Unable to access MySQL after it automatically generated a temporary password

I&#39;m using **GIT** and am trying to push my code and getting the following error when using the ***Terminal***. I don&#39;t use **XCode**, I&#39;m using ***Android Studio***.

The command I tried using was:

    Errno::EPERM - Operation not permitted - /Users/../Pods/Pods.xcodeproj/xcuserdata/root.xcuserdatad

Here&#39;s my environment: El Capitan (15A279b), Xcode Version 7.0 (7A220), cocoapod 0.38.2.  Any ideas?  Thanks!!!

The reason I use xcode7 (and not 6.4) is that I need to target an existing project to iOS9 for testing.  And the reason I am using El Capitan is that xcode7 doesn&#39;t run under Yosemite.  And I need to replace a library (managed by cocoapod) that no longer works under iOS9. 

Here&#39;s how I install cocoapods in El Capitan
`sudo gem install -n /usr/local/bin cocoapods`
as suggested by this link https://stackoverflow.com/questions/30812777/cannot-install-cocoa-pods-after-uninstalling-results-in-error/30851030#30851030

`pod --version`

returns

`0.38.2`

Can not perform `pod install` under el capitan (15A279b)

I&#39;ve upgraded to El Capitan and since then I can&#39;t update my pods.

    $ pod update
    -bash: pod: command not found

So I&#39;ve tried to reinstall CocoaPods and got this:

    $ sudo gem install cocoapods
    ERROR:  While executing gem ... (Errno::EPERM)
        Operation not permitted - /usr/bin/xcodeproj

I am the administrator on this computer. Why is this happening? 

Cocoa Pods not updating pods on El Capitan

I&#39;ve installed node using `brew install node` and when I use the `node -v` I get following `v5.0.0`. However when I try to run the `npm` command I get `npm: command not found`. 

I&#39;ve tried to run `brew install npm`, however I just got following response `node-5.0.0 already installed`.

It happened with node also returning command not found, but that I fixed by running `brew link node`, however npm still does not seem to work.

How can I resolve this problem?
