I want to set the map view zoomed to 1km radius but cant figure out how?

The doc says that the zoom level 1 will map earths equator to 256 pixels. So how do I calculate which zoom level I need to set so that the map view shows area in 1KM radius?

After reading a few blog posts I wrote the following code:

The idea is that first I calculate **Meters per pixel** in the zoom level 1, which according to google shows equator of earth using 256 pixels. Now every subsequent zoom level magnifies by a level of 2 so I half the meters per pixel for every zoom level. I do this until I have a zoom level where **meters per pixel** multiplied by the **screen width** gives me less than 2000 i.e 2 Km across.

But I dont think that the zoom level I am getting is showing the map of 2Km radius. Can some one tell me what I am doing wrong here?

Android - Google Maps api v2 - Disable Zoom control

I have multiple subplots in one figure. The X axis of each plot is the same variable (time).  The Y axis on each plot is different (both in what it represents and the magnitude of the data).

I would like a way to zoom in on the time scale on all plots simultaneously. Ideally by using the rectangle zoom tool on one of the plots, and having the other plots change their X limits accordingly. The Y limits should remained unchanged for all of this. Auto fitting the data to fill the plot in the Y direction is acceptable.

If I set the zoom of a tab to 120%, then when opening new tabs, Visual Studio 2012 should open them with a 120% zoom factor and not 100% (the default).

But when reopening, Visual Studio the Zoom Percentage should be preserved (120%).

Is there is any way to solve the issue?

Is there a common way to show a big image and enable the user to zoom in and out and pan the image?

Until now I found two ways: 

 1. overwriting ImageView, that seems a little bit too much for such a common problem. 
 2. using a webview but with less control over the overall layout etc.

Visual Studio 2010 adds a zoom setting on the bottom left of the text editor (to the left of the horizontal scroll bar) and also adopts the &lt;kbd&gt;Ctrl&lt;/kbd&gt;+mouse scroll idiom for zooming in and out.

The former is fine, but I dislike the latter as I am occasionally still holding control when I start scrolling my source code (which results in the text size radically changing and completely throwing me off whatever I was doing).

Pan &amp; Zoom Image

If you specify axis limits in ggplot the outlying points are removed.  This is fine for points, but you might want to plot lines that intersect with the specified range, but ggplot&#39;s `range` or `xlim/ylim` methods removes these.  Is there another way to specify the plot axis range without removing outlying data?

I have a `UIWebView` which inside a `UIScrollView` (scrollview contain another component)

I tried to enable multitouch both on **Interface Builder** or **Programmatic** on `UIWebView` but it still cannot zoom for html, do I need to handle both zoom in at the `UIScrollView` and `UIWebView`?  Or anything I haven&#39;t to set?

I tried most of the samples but in all of them the image in the ImageView itself is getting Zoomed-in and Zoomed-out, while I want to Zoom-in and Zoom-out the ImageView. it turns out that the problem was the non-standard quotes because I had copied the meta tag from a website that was using them, whoops

How do you disable viewport zooming on Mobile Safari?

I have plots of 3-axis accelerometer time-series data (t,x,y,z) in separate subplots I&#39;d like to zoom together.  That is, when I use the &quot;Zoom to Rectangle&quot; tool on one plot, when I release the mouse all 3 plots zoom together.

Previously, I simply plotted all 3 axes on a single plot using different colors.  But this is useful only with small amounts of data: I have over 2 million data points, so the last axis plotted obscures the other two.  Hence the need for separate subplots.

I know I can capture matplotlib/pyplot mouse events (http://matplotlib.sourceforge.net/users/event_handling.html), and I know I can catch other events (http://matplotlib.sourceforge.net/api/backend_bases_api.html#matplotlib.backend_bases.ResizeEvent), but I don&#39;t know how to tell what zoom has been requested on any one subplot, and how to replicate it on the other two subplots.

I suspect I have the all the pieces, and need only that one last precious clue...

Matplotlib/Pyplot: How to zoom subplots together?

I&#39;m familiar with using Google Maps Javascript API. Recently I started using MapKit framework for an iphone project, but I&#39;m having a hard time to figure out zooming and setting a region on map.
 
In Google Maps API I used to use integer zoom levels like 8, 9, 10 along with straightforward function setZoom(). The only equivalent method I can see in the MapKit framework is setRegion:animated. As I understand, I need to set a region&#39;s span&#39;s latitude and longitude &quot;delta&quot; values to specify zoom level. But I really don&#39;t have an idea what these values represent(I read the documentation).
 
When I use a MKMapView delegate and trace the span values in regionDidChange delegate method results don&#39;t seem to correlate each other. It&#39;s ok when I zoom out and see the span delta values are increasing as specified in documentation. But suddenly I drag the map without zooming and delta values become 0.0. 

Can somebody please explain what is the reference point to these span and delta? Or is there any algorithm to convert an integer zoom level(like 9) to these delta values? 

As a bonus question is there any way to specify a minimum-maximum zoom level on a MKMapView :)

Is there a way to zoom into a D3 force layout graph?

There are some methods in WebSettings related to zoom:

 - WebSettings.setSupportZoom
 - WebSettings.setBuiltInZoomControls

I noticed they work differently on some devices.
For example, on my Galaxy S pinch to zoom is enabled by default, but on LG P500 it is disabled (And now I don&#39;t know how to enable ONLY pinch to zoom, but hide zooming buttons).

On P500 when I call `setBuiltInZoomControls(true)` I get both these variants working (multitouch and buttons).

How to enable multitouch zoom and disable zooming buttons on devices such an LG P500? (Also, I know the same problems are on HTC devices)

1. How can I detect the page zoom level in all modern browsers? While this [thread][1] tells how to do it in IE7 and IE8, I can&#39;t find a good cross-browser solution.

2. Firefox stores the page zoom level for future access. On the first page load, would I be able to get the zoom level? Somewhere I read it works when a zoom change occurs *after* the page is loaded.

3. Is there a way to trap the `&#39;zoom&#39;` event?

I need this because some of my calculations are pixel-based and they may fluctuate when zoomed.

I was looking for some css properties that I never used and came to know about `zoom` property of **css3**

 - What is the similarities and difference between them?

 - When to use Zoom and when scale? Both do pretty much the same job.

Zoom Vs. Scale in CSS3

I have to implement image zooming, I have tried with so many codes.But i didnt get full idea of gesture events. I want to implement when we apply double tap, image will be zooming according to the touch place(event x and y).I have to implement only zooming at this time no pan.Can any body suggest me ?

    Actually i have implemented that viewflipper with images, if i try to apply pan and zoom effect, sometimes images will be changed.**I want to implement zoom effect for where the user is clicked**.

I used to use ZoomWin: https://github.com/vim-scripts/ZoomWin for toggle between one and multiple windows in Vim. But this plugin has one big issue. When I`m trying to restore multiple windows(vertical split) there is about 2-4 sec delay.

Do you know how to avoid that lag? Or maybe is better solution for that.
