I have 4 textfields on a register screen and i have it set up so that when the user presses next on each text field, the next text field is focused. Code below:

On the return of the final text field, I am calling a check for errors function (below). Within that if there is an issue with any field I want to focus that text field so the user can easily correct it. What is happening is that the text field with the error is focusing (as instructed by the checkForErrors functions)for a second but then the focus is switching back to the password text field. I also tried adding in `self.passwordField.resignFirstResponder()` into the last else of the above function and that makes the password field lose focus but then the text field with the issue encountered is not gaining focus at all (not even for a second as before) How can I fix this?

focusing a text field in swift

I am new in Flutter. I am looking for TextField value to always uppercase but I did not find any resource on that.

Another issue is the TextField onChanged event debounce implementation. When I type on TextField it immediately fires **onChanged** event which is not suitable for my goal. The onChange event will fire after 500ms on every text changed.

I am new to flutter and I am creating login form, for that I have used TextField  and added prefix icon but I am getting some extra spaces in between textfields (user id and pin) and before the prefix icon. I have also tried InputDecorationTheme but it didn&#39;t work.

How I can enforce that only a certain number of characters can be provided as input in a TextField Widget. In the Flutter docs for Text Fields (https://flutter.io/text-input/) it says you can remove the underline by passing `null` to the decoration. However, that also gets rid of the hint text. 

I do not want any underline whether the text field is focused or not.

`convertFrom`, includes a TextField. When I tap on this text field, the Android keyboard appears on the screen. This changes the screen size, so the widgets resize like this:

Is there a way to have the keyboard &quot;overlay&quot; the screen so that my Column doesn&#39;t resize? If I don&#39;t use `Expanded` widgets and hardcode a height for each widget, the widgets don&#39;t resize, but I get the black-and-yellow striped error when the keyboard appears (because there isn&#39;t enough space). This also isn&#39;t flexible for all screen sizes.

I&#39;m not sure if this is an Android-specific or Flutter-specific.

I am building a form with multiple text inputs using following widgets: Form, TextFormField. The keyboard that appears doesn&#39;t show &quot;next&quot; (which should shift the focus to next field) field action instead it is &quot;done&quot; action (which hides the keyborad).

How do you set the cursor position in a text field using jQuery?  I&#39;ve got a text field with content, and I want the users cursor to be positioned at a certain offset when they focus on the field.  The code should look kind of like this:

What would the implementation of that setCursorPosition function look like?  If you had a text field with the content abcdefg, this call would result in the cursor being positioned as follows: abcd**|**efg.

Java has a similar function, setCaretPosition.  Does a similar method exist for javascript?

jQuery Set Cursor Position in Text Area

I have a form_for written in the following manner:

As you can see the 2 textfield are disabled because they are autofilled by a jquery function and I don&#39;t want let the user handle them.
The problem is that in this way, the view doesen&#39;t pass that parameters to the controller because are disabled !!!
Is there any other way to pass not editable text_field to the controller, taking care that I don&#39;t want to use hidden field because I want to show the results to the user inside a textbox

Flutter textfield background color on focus

I was trying to build a border for my text field like:

    return TextField(
      ...
     border: OutlineInputBorder(
      borderSide: BorderSide(
       color: Colors.red, 
        width: 5.0),
        )
      )
    )

But it always return a black border with 1.0 as width. 
The only way that I found to change the color was to create a ThemeData where I specify the hint color, but I could not find a way to change my width.

I have a simple TextField that binds to the state &#39;location&#39; like this,

Customizing Increment Arrows on Input of Type Number Using CSS

I have a Flutter TextField which gets covered by the soft keyboard when the field is selected. I need to scroll the field up and out of the way when the keyboard is displayed. This is a pretty common problem and a solution is presented in this [StackOverflow post][1].

I think I have the **ScrollController** part figured out but how do I detect when the **TextField** has been selected? There doesn&#39;t appear to be any event method (e.g. onFocus(), onSelected(), onTap(), etc).

I tried wrapping the TextField in a **GestureDetector** but that didn&#39;t work either -- apparently the event was never captured.
