How do I count the number of tr elements within a table using jQuery?

I know there is a [similar question](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/613024/count-number-of-table-rows-between-two-specific-rows-with-jquery), but I just want the total rows.

I&#39;ve got a very large MySQL table with about 150,000 rows of data. Currently, when I try and run

    SELECT * FROM table WHERE id = &#39;1&#39;;

the code runs fine as the ID field is the primary index.
However, for a recent development in the project, I have to search the database by another field. For example:

    SELECT * FROM table WHERE product_id = &#39;1&#39;;

This field was not previously indexed; however, I&#39;ve added one, so mysql now indexes the field, but when I try to run the above query, it runs very slowly. An EXPLAIN query reveals that there is no index for the product_id field when I&#39;ve already added one, and as a result the query takes any where from 20 minutes to 30 minutes to return a single row.

My full EXPLAIN results are:

I just want to copy one row to insert into the same table (i.e., I want to duplicate an existing row in the table) but I want to do this without having to list all the columns after the &quot;select&quot;, because this table has too many columns.

But when I do this, I get the error:

I can handle this by creating another table with the same columns as a temporary container for the record I want to copy:

The simple task of adding a row to a `pandas.DataFrame` object seems to be hard to accomplish. There are 3 stackoverflow questions relating to this, none of which give a working answer.

Here is what I&#39;m trying to do. I have a DataFrame of which I already know the shape as well as the names of the rows and columns.

    &gt;&gt;&gt; df = pandas.DataFrame(columns=[&#39;a&#39;,&#39;b&#39;,&#39;c&#39;,&#39;d&#39;], index=[&#39;x&#39;,&#39;y&#39;,&#39;z&#39;])

Now, I have a function to compute the values of the rows iteratively. How can I fill in one of the rows with either a dictionary or a `pandas.Series` ? Here are various attempts that have failed:

    &gt;&gt;&gt; y = {&#39;a&#39;:1, &#39;b&#39;:5, &#39;c&#39;:2, &#39;d&#39;:3}

Very uninformative error message.

Apparently that is only for setting individual values in the dataframe.

    Exception: Can only append a Series if ignore_index=True

Well, I don&#39;t want to ignore the index, otherwise here is the result:

It did align the column names with the values, but lost the row labels.

I have a pandas data frame like this:

       Column1  Column2  Column3  Column4  Column5
     0    a        1        2        3        4
     1    a        3        4        5
     2    b        6        7        8
     3    c        7        7        

What I want to do now is getting a new dataframe containing Column1 and a new columnA. This columnA should contain all values from columns 2 -(to) n (where n is the number of columns from Column2 to the end of the row) like this:

      Column1  ColumnA
    0   a      1,2,3,4
    1   a      3,4,5
    2   b      6,7,8
    3   c      7,7
How could I best approach this issue? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Merge multiple column values into one column in python pandas

How do I make the background change of a table row in `Bootstrap 3` on hover. The table class I am using right now is `table table-striped`. I tried to add a extra class to the `&lt;tr&gt;` tags within the table and made the css like this `.table-row:hover{background:black;}`. Now only the non-striped rows are working. Isn&#39;t there a class in bootstrap that will allow me to easily implement this? Or should I use `JQuery` to fix this? I really cannot figure this one out by myself.

From the example that I linked, it seems tr styling doesn&#39;t even work in Firefox. (And anyway, text-decoration only applies on text afaik)

If I want to remove 5 rows, I currently use the following command, which in my opinion is rather convoluted:

How would you accomplish task, is there a convenient function that I can use in R?

When the application is started, none of the rows is selected. But I would like to show that the first row is already selected.

Programmatically select a row in JTable

I have a UITableView where when I put it in editing mode, I want selective rows to be selectable, however, they are not. Is there a way I can force them to be selectable?

I have a table full of tracking data for as specific course, course number 6.

Now I have added new tracking data for course number 11.

Each row of data is for one user for one course, so for users assigned to both course 6 and course 11 there are two rows of data.

The client wants all users who have completed course number 6 any time after August 1st 2008 to also have completion marked for course 11. However I can&#39;t just convert the 6 to 11 because they want to preserve their old data for course 6.

So for every row that has a course number of 6, is marked as complete, and is greater than the date August 1st 2008, I want to write the completion data over the row that contains the tracking for course 11 for that specific user.

I would need to carry over the data from the course 6 row to the course 11 row so things like user score and date of posted completion is moved over.

Here is the structure of the table:

    userID (int)
    courseID (int)
    course (bit)
    bookmark (varchar(100))
    course_date (datetime)
    posttest (bit)
    post_attempts (int)
    post_score (float)
    post_date (datetime)
    complete (bit)
    complete_date (datetime)
    exempted (bit)
    exempted_date (datetime)
    exempted_reason (int)
    emailSent (bit)

Some values will be NULL and userID/courseID obviously won&#39;t be carried over as that is already in the right place.

I have a data frame `(df)` and I was wondering how to return the row number(s) for a particular value `(2585)` in the `4th column (height_chad1)` of the same data frame? 

I&#39;ve tried: 

    row(mydata_2$height_chad1, 2585)

and **I get the following error:**

    Error in factor(.Internal(row(dim(x))), labels = labs) : 
      a matrix-like object is required as argument to &#39;row&#39;

Is there an equivalent line of code that works for data frames instead of matrix-like objects?

How do you get ROW numbers in `QTableView` using `QStandardItemModel` I used below selection model and behavior as

    setSelectionBehavior(QAbstractItemView::SelectRows);
    setSelectionMode(QAbstractItemView::SingleSelection);

and if you have your own way of selecting can you explain how it works.
