I want the FAB to float on top of the keyboard. that&#39;s it.

For example

 1. Open a new `Blank Activity` template project with Android Studio
 2. Change the Hello World `TextView` to `EditText`
 3. See image below:

The material design documentation has an example of Google Maps showing two floating action buttons next to one another (actually, one above the other).

How is this done? I have two FAB&#39;s in a coordinator layout, but they end up on top of one another, so you only see one button.

Two floating action buttons next to each other

I&#39;m trying to create a floating button in my app. The button is there, but the image in the button is a bit upwards (see image).

I can&#39;t figure out what&#39;s wrong with it. Below is part of the XML for floating button.

The button is showing where I wanted it. The only problem seems to be the image inside isn&#39;t center. Why is this happening? 

**EDIT**:
After some more looking around I realized the image itself was having problem where the image isn&#39;t actually centered and there are space at the bottom side (which cause the image to being push upward).

Android: Floating Button Icon is not centred

The title is pretty self explaining.

The following code does not render shadow below the Floating Action Button. What can be done to render shadow? Is this feature really not supported even on API 21+?

How to add shadow to the FAB provided with the android support design library?

How to change FAB icon in an Activity during runtime. I have this code -&gt;

    FloatingActionButton fab = (FloatingActionButton) findViewById(R.id.fabMainActivity);

I know this is possible using `fab.setBackgroundDrawable();` but i am a newbie to android, don&#39;t understand how to do this.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

I want to align to bottom right my FAB.

Used this layout behaviour for `FloatingActionButton`. 

When I see `logcat` only constructor is getting called. `onNestedScroll()` doesn&#39;t get called when I scroll the list.

Flutter - FloatingActionButton in the center

I guess you have seen the new Android design guidelines, with the new &quot;Floating Action Button&quot; a.k.a &quot;FAB&quot;

For instance this pink button:

My question sounds stupid, and I have already tried a lot of things, but what is the best way to put this button at the intersection of two layouts?

In the above exemple, this button is perfectly placed between what we can imagine to be an ImageView and a relativeLayout.

I have already tried a lot of tweaks, but I am convinced there is a proper way to do it.

How can I add the new &quot;Floating Action Button&quot; between two widgets/layouts

I am using FAB button along with RecyclerView in a Fragment. This Fragment is an instance of a TabViewPager. I am having a issue with the FAB button. I have placed the RecyclerView and the fab button inside a FrameLayout, where the FAB buttton is positioned bottom right. Now the problem that I am facing is the FAB button is not fully visible. Its half of the portion is hidden as shown in the screenshot below. Can any one help me to solve this issue. Thanks in advance.

**Note:** The FAB is aligning properly once it is scrolled. The problem arises only if it is ideal (before scrolling done).

Floating Action Button not showing fully inside a fragment

I am trying to hide my FloatingActionButton `fabLocation` programmatically with :

    fabLocation.setVisibility(View.GONE)

but it does not work.

If I add `android:visibility=&quot;gone&quot;` in my XML layout, `fabLocation` is hidden when I run my activity but it reappears when I scroll.

The new floating action button should be **56dp x 56dp** and the icon inside it should be **24dp x 24dp**. So the space between icon and button should be **16dp**.

I have been trying to change Material&#39;s Floating Action Button color, but without success.

But none of the above worked. I have also tried the solutions in the proposed duplicate question, but none of them works; the button remained green and also became a square.

P.S. It would be also nice to know how to add ripple effect, couldn&#39;t understand that either.

Set FAB icon color

Recently, I read these posts:

- [Android Design Support Library][1]
- [Android Support Library, revision 22.2.0][2]
- [FloatingActionButton][3]

But, none of them give me a detail example about creating a new `FloatingActionButton`. It&#39;s so hard to understand, which is why I am asking this question.

Can anyone give me an example about it?

Android Design Library - Floating Action Button Padding/Margin Issues

I&#39;m trying to figure out how can be modified FloatingActionButton from android support library. Can it be used with the text instead of image?

Something like this one:

I see it extends ImageButton so I think not. Am I right?

Is this correct in terms of Material Design in general?

Yes, I am using an `AppCompatActivity`.

I noticed I am using an older version of appcompat:

    com.android.support:appcompat-v7:22.1.1


This seems to be up to date:

    compile &#39;com.android.support:design:22.2.0&#39;


Also,

    minSdkVersion 16
    targetSdkVersion 22


Now, I do set the Visibility to `GONE` in some case for my FAB, but this is after it inflates so that can&#39;t be the issue.


Now, this works with my 5.1 device, but the users who have issues have 5.0.


Is this a known bug or maybe I am doing something wrong?

InflateException with FloatingActionButton from Official Design Library

No mater the color of the icon (a vector drawable), the icon inside the FAB (from the library and from the default) is always black. I have narrowed down the problem to the material design theme, since using the old `Theme.AppCompat.Light.DarkActionBar` instead of the new `Theme.MaterialComponents.Light.DarkActionBar` the icon inside the FAB gets the color of the original vector drawable.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how to solve it?

Granted the specs never say anything about rounded corners, regardless it is possible to do, just unsure of how to go about it. Currently using the AppCompat library and target set to 21.
