I have seen other apps do it where you can import the last photo from the Photos app for quick use but as far as I know, I only know how to get A image and not the last (most recent one). Can anyone show me how to get the last image?

I just set up my first ionic 2 app (I&#39;ve used ionic 1 fairly extensively). I&#39;m trying to use the [ionic-native camera](http://ionicframework.com/docs/v2/native/camerapreview/) preview plugin.

**The setup was pretty straight forward:**

**Then I copied and pasted the example code into the about page:**

Any ideas why cordova isn&#39;t loading?

Using `iOS 10.0` last beta. I had tried to use Camera to scan barcode in my app, and it crashed with this runtime error.

We are trying to use the native camera app to let the user take a new picture. It works just fine if we leave out the `EXTRA_OUTPUT extra` and returns the small Bitmap image. However, if we `putExtra(EXTRA_OUTPUT,...)` on the intent before starting it, everything works until you try to hit the &quot;Ok&quot; button in the camera app. The &quot;Ok&quot; button just does nothing. The camera app stays open and nothing locks up. We can cancel out of it, but the file never gets written. I am developing a very simple video app. I use the official control: UIImagePickerController.

Here is the problem. When presenting the UIImagePickerController for the first time, the iOS will ask for the permission. The user can click yes or no. If the user clicks no, the control is not dismissed. Instead, if the user keeps clicking the start button, the timers go on while the screen is always black, and the user can&#39;t stop the timers or go back. The only thing the user can do is to kill the app. The next time the UIImagePickerController is presented, it is still a black screen and the user can&#39;t go back if clicking start. 

I was wondering if it&#39;s a bug. Is there any way we can detect the permission of the camera so that we can decide to show the UIImagePickerController or not?

The new camera2 API confuses me. I want to develop an app **(for Android APIs 10 - 21)** which uses the device&#39;s camera. As stated [here][1], I should use the &quot;Camera&quot; API. 

However, when I try to add the &quot;Camera&quot; API *(android.hardware.Camera)* to the manifest&#39;s user features, [it is marked as deprecated][2]. On the other hand, I cannot change it to the &quot;camera2&quot; API *(android.hardware.camera2)* since it is only compatible with Android API 21+ (Android 5 - Lollipop) - Would have linked it too, but I can only add 2 links.

Not only do I want my app to run on older versions of Android, but also the newest one...

How to access camera on iOS11 home screen web app?

I am new to Xcode (using 4.3) and am not sure how to save an image to the device&#39;s camera roll.  All that I have done so far is set up an IBAction for the button to save the image. What library method or function can I use to save an image to the user&#39;s camera roll?

I am using a Preview to display what the camera see&#39;s on the screen.

I can get everything working fine, surface created, surface set and the surface is displayed.

However it always displays the picture at an incorrect 90 degree angle in portrait mode.

Such as in the picture:

I am aware that using the following code will set the picture straight:

    setRequestedOrientation(ActivityInfo.SCREEN_ORIENTATION_LANDSCAPE);

However I have the Preview within an Activity that has other elements in it and it does not make sense for my Activity to be displayed in landscape mode. (Its disabled by default)

So I was wondering is there anyway to just change the orientation of the Preview? And leave the rest of my Activity correctly displayed in Portrait mode?

Or anyway to rotate the preview so that it is displayed correctly?

Android - Camera preview is sideways

I am getting this error only in iOS 7 and the application crashed. 
In iOS 6, I never get any error, just once of memory warning when opening the camera.

    Snapshotting a view that has not been rendered results in an empty snapshot. Ensure your view has been rendered at least once before snapshotting or snapshot after screen updates.

Here is what I am doing.

    imagePicker = [[UIImagePickerController alloc] init];
    [imagePicker setDelegate:self];
    [imagePicker setSourceType:UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera];
    [imagePicker setAllowsEditing:YES];
            
    [self presentModalViewController:imagePicker animated:YES];

I did tried to delay the `presentModalViewController`, but I am still getting the same message. After few seconds (7-10), the application crashed.

This error is only present in iOS 7. 

Anybody has the clue?



UIImagePickerController error: Snapshotting a view that has not been rendered results in an empty snapshot in iOS 7

I am using OpenCV (2.4) and Python (2.7.3) with a USB camera from Thorlabs (DC1545M).

I am doing some image analysis on a video stream and I would like to be able to change some of the camera parameters from my video stream.  The confusing thing is that I am able to change some of the camera properties but not all of them, and I am unsure of what I am doing wrong.

Here is the code, using the cv2 bindings in Python, and I can confirm that it runs:

I want to set the camera orientation according to the device orientation in Android but nothing seems to be working. I tried to rotate the Surface as well as the camera parameters but the camera preview in portrait mode always comes upside down. I would need to rotate it by 90 degree clockwise for it to be correct. But the problem is, the image on some devices every time it gets rotated. For example, on a Samsung device it works good, but on a [Sony Xperia][1] the image gets rotated by 90 degrees and on [Toshiba Thrive][2] (tablet) by 180 degrees.

When my app tries to access the camera for the first time on iOS 8, the user is presented with a camera permission dialog, much like the microphone one for microphone access in iOS 7.

In iOS 7, it was possible to invoke the microphone permission dialog beforehand and see if the permission was granted (see [this question][1], for example). Is there a similar way to invoke the camera permission dialog in iOS 8? Can the dialog be combined for microphone AND camera access permission?

I&#39;ve been trying to implement an application that requires camera preview on a surface.
As I see the things, both activity and surface lifecycles consist of the following states:

1. When I first launch my Activity: `onResume()-&gt;onSurfaceCreated()-&gt;onSurfaceChanged()`
2. When I leave my Activity: `onPause()-&gt;onSurfaceDestroyed()`

In this scheme, I can do corresponding calls like open/release camera and start/stop preview in `onPause/onResume` and `onSurfaceCreated()/onSurfaceDestroyed()`.

It works fine, unless I lock the screen. When I launch the app, then lock the screen and unlock it later I see:

`onPause()` - and nothing else after the screen is locked - then `onResume()` after unlock - and no surface callbacks after then. Actually, `onResume()` is called after the power button is pressed and the screen is on, but the lock screen is still active, so, it&#39;s before the activity becomes even visible.

With this scheme, I get a black screen after unlock, and no surface callbacks are called.

Here&#39;s a code fragment that doesn&#39;t involve actual work with the camera, but the `SurfaceHolder` callbacks. The issue above is reproduced even with this code on my phone (callbacks are called in a normal sequence when you press &quot;Back&quot; button, but are missing when you lock the screen):

I have a simple program that draws the preview of the `Camera` into a `SurfaceView`. What I&#39;m trying to do is using the `onPreviewFrame` method, which is invoked each time a new frame is drawn into the `SurfaceView`, in order to execute the `invalidate` method which is supposed to invoke the `onDraw` method. In fact, the `onDraw` method is being invoked, but nothing there is being printed (I guess the camera preview is overwriting the text I&#39;m trying to draw).

This is a simplify version of the `SurfaceView` subclass I have:

How to draw an overlay on a SurfaceView used by Camera on Android?

I wish to simulate camera in the android emulator using the webcam. Basically I need to only take photos with the camera in the emulator (live preview is not needed i.e if it makes it any easier)

I followed the tutorial [here][1] which is the only one I could find that was close to my requirements 

But many of the libraries used in that tutorial(like android.hardware.CameraDevice) are not available in present sdk and are replaced by new libraries(like android.hardware.camera).

Any help on how to do this in the present sdk(2.1 or 2.2) would be much appreciated.

Using Camera in the Android emulator

I&#39;m developing an app for Android 2.1 upwards.  I want to enable my users to select a profile picture within my app (I&#39;m not using the contacts framework). 

The ideal solution would be to fire an intent that enables the user to select an image from the gallery, but if an appropriate image is not available then use the camera to take a picture (or vice-versa i.e. allow user to take picture but if they know they already have a suitable image already, let them drop into the gallery and pick said image).

Currently I can do one or the other but not both.

If I go directly into camera mode using MediaStore.ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE then there is no option to drop into the gallery.  

If I go directly to the gallery using Intent.ACTION_PICK then I can pick an image but if I click the camera button (in top right hand corner of gallery) then a new camera intent is fired. So, any picture that is taken is not returned directly to my application. (Sure you can press the back button to drop back into the gallery and select image from there but this is an extra unnecessary step and is not at all intuitive).

So is there a way to combine both or am I going to have to offer a menu to do one or the other from within my application?  Seems like it would be a common use case...surely I&#39;m missing something?

Single intent to let user take picture OR pick image from gallery in Android

I am using intent to launch camera:

    Intent cameraIntent = new Intent(

	getParent().startActivityForResult(cameraIntent, CAMERA_PIC_REQUEST);

and using:

    Bitmap thumbnail = (Bitmap) data.getExtras().get(&quot;data&quot;);
    photoImage.setImageBitmap(thumbnail);
    photoImage.setVisibility(View.VISIBLE);

But it is only a thumbnail, how do I get the full bitmap? I know I can use my own Activity and use:

    Camera.PictureCallback()

But is there anyway to do it using Intent?

It works for photo selected from gallery, but for camera intent, data.getData() returns null.

Android Camera Intent: how to get full sized photo?

I&#39;m trying to recreate the condition where the following code returns `AVAuthorizationStatusNotDetermined`:

    AVAuthorizationStatus authStatus = [AVCaptureDevice authorizationStatusForMediaType:AVMediaTypeVideo];

However, the iPad appears to remember camera permissions even after the app is deleted and reinstalled, and so either Authorized or NotAuthorized is returned every time. Any idea how to reset the permissions so that NotDetermined is returned?

iPad remembering camera permissions after delete—how to clear?

I am using this code, but unfortunately it doesn&#39;t work.

After a user has denied camera access, I want to ask them for permission to use the camera again the next time they try to load it (in this case it&#39;s a barcode scanner using the camera view). I always get `AVAuthorizationStatusDenied` and then `granted` always automatically returns `NO` even though I ask for it again in code.

Many of my users are e-mailing me saying &quot;my screen is black when I try to barcode scan&quot; and it&#39;s because they have denied camera access for some reason. I want to be able to prompt them again because most likely the denial was a mistake.

Is there a possible way to do this?

Is there a way to ask user for Camera access after they have already denied it on iOS?

I have created an app with a button and wrote onClickListener for that button. I have tried several sample code examples and none of them worked. They all bring up the Android camera app and don&#39;t take photographs. I want some code which I can put in my onClickListener so when I press the button on the screen, a picture will be taken.

How can I make the camera take a picture when I press a button in an Android activity?

I did some research and found out that I need to add

    mCamera.setPreviewCallback(null);

as a workaround for Android&#39;s camera stack

method called after release() exception unable to resume with android camera

I need to access web camera using Java. This is what I want to do

1. Access web cam 

2. Now the user can see web cam working because his face is visible on screen
(have heard some libs are there which doesn&#39;t show the video output of webcam) 

3. when user click save button, take a snapshot and save it



I have tried number of ways to do this, from a long time.

1. JMF - Now it is dead
2. FMJ - Now it is dead too
3. VLCJ - too much because I am not creating a music/video player and it expect VLC to be installed
4. Xuggler - too much and hard work
5. JMyron - didn&#39;t work
6. JavaFX - I thought it could do it, but seems like it can&#39;t


I am even satisfied if the library is just ONLY doing the above mentioned, because that&#39;s enough for me. But I expect it to be simple too. Really great if it is not using DLLs, because it is not platform independent if it does. Really appreciate if it can DETECT the camera, without manually passing the camera name and other info as have do in VLCJ (because there might be thousands of camera brands, so I can&#39;t create a list of thousand elements in it). And, I am creating a desktop application, not web app.

If you know a library like this, please be kind enough to let me know. Other libraries (which might not suit to all of my requirements, but suits to the basic requirement) also welcome. Please help

Hey I am designing  an app in android studio. In which i require permission of camera. I have included `    &lt;uses-permission android:name=&quot;android.permission.CAMERA&quot; /&gt;
`  in the the AndroidManifest.xml file. It is working properly in all versions of android except Marshmallow. How do I get camera permission by default? If not possible how do I ask it from user?
