Taking these item by item:

1. Currently, yes this is still the case. Keep in mind, our initial release is targeted at a *same-party* use-case, where the domain you&#39;re serving from basically doesn&#39;t matter (it&#39;s not user/developer-facing). If you want to use your API to drive a website, you can use your custom domain to have your user-facing content, and still make requests to your appspot domain using CORS. If you&#39;re building a mobile app, no one sees the domain at all.
2. Built-in support (i.e. using the `User` object) is limited to Google accounts, but you&#39;re free to build your own authentication scheme by checking the OAuth headers (or email/password if you must...)
3. (From the comments, regarding GA status). Endpoints is now GA.
4. (From the comments, regarding public APIs). Your APIs must be public, but you can limit the clients that can make requests. If you want to make a secret API, i.e. the existence of the API must itself be protected, that&#39;s not currently supported. I&#39;d be curious to hear how popular a request this is, but I suspect it&#39;s not a blocker for most people.

I have tried installing boost onto my desktop, and, done as the posts suggested in terms of linking. I have the following code:

Now I have tried linking with the following:

I keep getting the following error:

I&#39;m trying to use a callback method `addToCount` instead of anonymous function in `forEach`. But I can&#39;t access `this.count` in it (returns `undefined`).

For what function I can use in android to display the number into different formats.

A response from JetBrains [issue tracker][3]: Change line 55 of the snippet from sys.stderr to sys.stdout. stderr stream is always colored with red color while stdout not.

Now colours are properly displayed.

I need to store API keys and other sensitive information in `app.yaml` as environment variables for deployment on GAE. The issue with this is that if I push `app.yaml` to GitHub, this information becomes public (not good). I don&#39;t want to store the info in a datastore as it does not suit the project. Rather, I&#39;d like to swap out the values from a file that is listed in `.gitignore` on each deployment of the app.

Securely storing environment variables in GAE with app.yaml

I was wondering what the difference between App Engine &amp; Compute Engine are. Can anyone explain the difference to me?

What is the difference between Google App Engine and Google Compute Engine?

I am aware that other people have tried to resolve this issue but have thus far found a suitable answer.

The error is, on start up, eclipse gets hung up on &quot;Android SDK: resolving error markers&quot; furthermore, if I try to interact with it, it freezes completely and I am forced to force quit.

I find it odd that it needs to resolve the error markers multiple times but I assume this is just for each project in my workspace.

Other things to note being that all that currently exists within my workspace is an Android Application, an App-engine endpoint project for the before application, and 4 needed referenced libraries. All mentioned projects are open. Is this a matter of me overloading the IDE or perhaps there is some loop I threw it into? I find it hard to imagine that this is a unique circumstance.

UPDATE:
When I delete the app engine endpoint project from the workspace and restart eclipse, it loads fine. When I bring it back in, all good. But when I restart from there, it goes into error loop again. I am convinced that I have a circular reference in there somewhere but I cant figure out where. Thanks for your help.

Say I have an Android application that connects to a .Net API for receiving/setting data. The confusion that I have is regarding how to sign-up/login the user first time and authenticate it every time they make a request to the API.

 - If I just use username/password based authentication they won&#39;t be safe
   enough?
 - And I can&#39;t save that username/password in the device
   for of course security reasons?
 - Should I issue a GUID for every user at the sign-up, save it in their device and retrieve every time during an API request?

I&#39;m building an iOS app using a Storyboard. The root view controller is a Tab Bar Controller. I&#39;m creating the login/logout process, and it&#39;s mostly working fine, but I&#39;ve got a few issues. I need to know the BEST way to set all this up.

I want to accomplish the following:

 1. Show a login screen the first time the app is launched. When they login, go to the first tab of the Tab Bar Controller.
 2. Any time they launch the app after that, check if they are logged in, and skip straight to the first tab of the root Tab Bar Controller.
 3. When they manually click a logout button, show the login screen, and clear all the data from the view controllers.

What I&#39;ve done so far is set the root view controller to the Tab Bar Controller, and created a custom segue to my Login view controller. Inside my Tab Bar Controller class, I check whether they are logged in inside the `viewDidAppear` method, and a perform the segue: `[self performSegueWithIdentifier:@&quot;pushLogin&quot; sender:self];` 

I also setup a notification for when the logout action needs to be performed: `[[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(logoutAccount) name:@&quot;logoutAccount&quot; object:nil];`

Upon logout, I clear the credentials from the Keychain, run `[self setSelectedIndex:0]` and perform the segue to show the login view controller again.

This all works fine, but I&#39;m wondering: **should this logic be in the AppDelegate?** I also have two issues:

- **The first time they launch the app**, the Tab Bar Controller shows briefly before the segue is performed. I&#39;ve tried moving the code to `viewWillAppear` but the segue will not work that early.
- When they logout, all the data is still inside all the view controllers. If they login to a new account, the old account data is still displayed until they refresh. **I need a way to clear this easily on logout.**

I&#39;m open to reworking this. I&#39;ve considered making the login screen the root view controller, or creating a navigation controller in the AppDelegate to handle everything... I&#39;m just not sure what the best method is at this point.

I have created my own User class which worked fine but now I am getting an error whenever I go to the **/Account/Register** page. The error is:

Anti-forgery token issues

I&#39;m building a Rails API and have successfully built a way for a user to authenticate using Omniauth Identity.

We simply post to auth/identity/callback from the client, passing in an auth_key and password.  
The server then returns a doorkeeper token that the users then uses from then on to access the app and identify themselves.

We&#39;d now like to implement a Facebook login from the client, but are having trouble making it work, both theoretically and practically.

On a simple Rails App with Omniauth Identity, you&#39;d simply call auth/facebook, but if we put a link from this in the client, it calls the server and the server then logs:

`INFO -- omniauth: (facebook) Request phase initiated.`

The app is set up correctly in Facebook with an ID and Secret, so perhaps the log-in prompt is getting returned to the server?

I&#39;m getting confused though chaining the authentication.  Any help gratefully appreciated!

I would like to add Authorization to a controller, for multiple Roles at once.

Normally that would look like this:

I am trying to decide which option to go with. (or another if it is better)
This is for a messaging type app where there will be high volume of notifications and database writes.

**Option 1** - Google App Engine using Cloud Endpoints and Cloud Datastore&lt;br/&gt;
Pros:&lt;br/&gt;

 - Able to build out an API the way I would like.
 - Scalable

Cons:&lt;br/&gt;

 - More work implementing a notification system. (Which will end up being Firebase Cloud Messaging)

**Option 2** - Firebase&lt;br/&gt;
Pros:&lt;br/&gt;

 - Able to use the Firebase Database, Firebase User Authentication, Firebase Cloud Messaging(notifications)
 - Detailed use statistics for all devices&lt;br/&gt;

Cons:&lt;br/&gt;

 - No API

**Option 3** - Would it be possible to combine Google Cloud Endpoints and Firebase?
