To use alternate credentials for a single operation, use the `--username` and `--password` switches for `svn`.

To clear previously-saved credentials, delete `~/.subversion/auth`. You&#39;ll be prompted for credentials the next time they&#39;re needed.

These settings are saved in the user&#39;s home directory, so if you&#39;re using a shared account on &quot;this laptop&quot;, be careful - if you allow the client to save your credentials, someone can impersonate you. The first option I provided is the better way to go in this case. At least until you stop using shared accounts on computers, which you shouldn&#39;t be doing.

To change credentials you need to do:

 - &lt;code&gt; rm -rf ~/.subversion/auth &lt;/code&gt;
 - &lt;code&gt; svn up &lt;/code&gt;
 ( it&#39;ll ask you for new username &amp; password )



since your local username on your laptop frequently does not match the server&#39;s username, you can set this in the ~/.subversion/servers file

Add the server to the [groups] section with a name, then add a section with that name and provide a username.

for example, for a login like `me@svn.example.com` this is what your config would look like:

    [groups]
    exampleserver = svn.example.com

    [exampleserver]
    username = me

The side effect is that it clears out all authentication data and you have to re-enter your own username/password.

I was trying to understand more on `Transfer-Encoding:chunked`. referred some articles:

I still didn&#39;t get very clear picture. I understand setting this encoding allows server to set content in chunk to the browser and cause partial rendering of content at a time that makes web site responsive.

If I&#39;ve a web application that serves dynamic content (ex: JSF based web app) hosted on IBM WAS, most of the web pages are designed to server rich static content with lots of CSS and JS files + dynamic content. How can I set transfer-encoding &#39;chunked&#39; for my pages? Or in other words:

- How do you decide which page will have `&#39;Transfer-Encoding: chunked&#39;` and how do you set it for that page?

In our project we made the decision to reduce the build time by using pre-built binaries. Weekly/monthly we create a stable release and commit it to the repository. The build uses these binaries instead of building everything from source. 

For build speed this is fantastic. But, unsurprisingly, it really bulks up the SVN checkout size. Our trunk currently sits at ~22&amp;nbsp;GB. I realize this is not the intended usage of Subversion. But we don&#39;t have an alternative at the moment.

But I&#39;d like to improve the current situation. The `.svn` folder makes a big contribution to the size of trunk on disk. When the binaries are updated, it seems to keep several bases in the .svn folder. That is, if a binary is 4&amp;nbsp;GB there is a copy in the `.svn`. If it&#39;s updated then the `.svn` folder holds the original base plus the new base and bulks up to 8&amp;nbsp;GB for that one file.

Is it possible to tell Subversion not to keep a base in the `.svn` folder for certain files? Through google I found a similar question, *[How to decrease .svn folder size?][1]*.

The answer Simon received was

 - Use a partial checkout (which won&#39;t work for me as I need the binaries)
 - This is not yet a feature of Subversion
 - It was discussed, but will not be a feature until at least Subversion 1.8

Luckily for me subversion 1.8 has been released. Was this feature added?

I did not notice it in [the release notes][2]. Though &quot;Directory and property storage reduction&quot; looks promising.

Reducing the size of the .svn folder

I&#39;m developing a ColdFusion website using Aptana. We&#39;re using SVN for version control.

I renamed a few files and am now trying to commit one of them, but I&#39;m getting the following error:

    &#39;SVN Commit&#39; has encountered a problem.
    org.apache.subversion.javahl.ClientException: Illegal target for the requested operation
    svn: Commit failed (details follow):
    svn: Cannot commit &#39;R:\myPath\My-New-File-Name.cfm&#39; because it was moved from &#39;R:\myPath\My-Old-File-Name.cfm&#39; which is not part of the commit; both sides of the move must be committed together

This seems to indicate that I need to commit both the previous file (that was renamed) and the new renamed file together. How can I commit a file that no longer exists...?

How to view changes made to files on a certain revision in Subversion

I&#39;m building an iOS app using a Storyboard. The root view controller is a Tab Bar Controller. I&#39;m creating the login/logout process, and it&#39;s mostly working fine, but I&#39;ve got a few issues. I need to know the BEST way to set all this up.

I want to accomplish the following:

 1. Show a login screen the first time the app is launched. When they login, go to the first tab of the Tab Bar Controller.
 2. Any time they launch the app after that, check if they are logged in, and skip straight to the first tab of the root Tab Bar Controller.
 3. When they manually click a logout button, show the login screen, and clear all the data from the view controllers.

What I&#39;ve done so far is set the root view controller to the Tab Bar Controller, and created a custom segue to my Login view controller. Inside my Tab Bar Controller class, I check whether they are logged in inside the `viewDidAppear` method, and a perform the segue: `[self performSegueWithIdentifier:@&quot;pushLogin&quot; sender:self];` 

I also setup a notification for when the logout action needs to be performed: `[[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(logoutAccount) name:@&quot;logoutAccount&quot; object:nil];`

Upon logout, I clear the credentials from the Keychain, run `[self setSelectedIndex:0]` and perform the segue to show the login view controller again.

This all works fine, but I&#39;m wondering: **should this logic be in the AppDelegate?** I also have two issues:

- **The first time they launch the app**, the Tab Bar Controller shows briefly before the segue is performed. I&#39;ve tried moving the code to `viewWillAppear` but the segue will not work that early.
- When they logout, all the data is still inside all the view controllers. If they login to a new account, the old account data is still displayed until they refresh. **I need a way to clear this easily on logout.**

I&#39;m open to reworking this. I&#39;ve considered making the login screen the root view controller, or creating a navigation controller in the AppDelegate to handle everything... I&#39;m just not sure what the best method is at this point.

I have created my own User class which worked fine but now I am getting an error whenever I go to the **/Account/Register** page. The error is:

Anti-forgery token issues

I&#39;m building a Rails API and have successfully built a way for a user to authenticate using Omniauth Identity.

We simply post to auth/identity/callback from the client, passing in an auth_key and password.  
The server then returns a doorkeeper token that the users then uses from then on to access the app and identify themselves.

We&#39;d now like to implement a Facebook login from the client, but are having trouble making it work, both theoretically and practically.

On a simple Rails App with Omniauth Identity, you&#39;d simply call auth/facebook, but if we put a link from this in the client, it calls the server and the server then logs:

`INFO -- omniauth: (facebook) Request phase initiated.`

The app is set up correctly in Facebook with an ID and Secret, so perhaps the log-in prompt is getting returned to the server?

I&#39;m getting confused though chaining the authentication.  Any help gratefully appreciated!

I have a `http.proxy` line on my repository configuration file that I would like to &#39;turn on and off&#39; easily without having to remember and type again the whole configuration every time I&#39;m behind or free from this proxied connection.

Another possibility would be to use this repository configuration file when I&#39;m behind the proxy and when not, use a global/local configuration file without any proxy setup.


Can I comment out a line in a .git/config file?

I create a `package.json`, I run `npm install`, it works alright. It creates a `node_modules` directory in my root folder (which I can change by using `--prefix` option). However, I don&#39;t like underscores all that much. I want to change the name of the directory NPM downloads the modules to. I want it to be named `nmods` or `node-modules` or something like that.

Bower can do a similar thing by reading the `directory` property inside a `.bowerrc` file in the current dir. Is there a way to do the same with NPM?

Can a custom directory name be used instead of &#39;node_modules&#39; when installing node packages?

What would be the best way to store DB config (username, password) in an open source app that runs on node.js / Express? Two specific questions:

1. Shall I put it into a separate config.js file in `/lib` folder, for example, and never include it into the master repository that is publicly available on GitHub?

2. To inlcude the config, is it as simple as `require(&#39;./config.js&#39;)` from the file that needs it or is there a better way of doing it?

Best way to store DB config in Node.Js / Express app

I have multiple property files that I want to load from classpath. There is one default set under `/src/main/resources` which is part of `myapp.jar`. My `springcontext` expects files to be on the classpath. i.e.

I also need the option to override these properties with an external set. I have an external config folder in `cwd`. As per spring boot doc config folder should be on classpath. But its not clear from doc if it will only override the `application.properties` from there or all the properties in config. 

When I tested it, only `application.properties` gets picked up and rest of properties are still picked up from `/src/main/resources`. I have tried supplying them as comma separated list to `spring.config.location` but the default set is still not being overriden.

How do I make multiple external config files override default ones?  

As workaround I currently used `app.config.location` (app specific property) which I supply through the command line. i.e 

    java -jar myapp.jar app.config.location=file:./config

 and I changed my `applicationcontext` to
