I would like to output a bit of Facelets code conditionally.

For that purpose, the JSTL tags seem to work fine:

However, I&#39;m not sure if this is a best practice?  Is there another way to achieve my goal?

I started using JSF 2.0 with Facelets recently and got puzzled by new composite components knowing existing `&lt;ui:include&gt;` and other templating techniques offered by Facelets 1.x. 

What is the difference between those approaches? Functionally they seem to offer about the same: `&lt;ui:param&gt;` vs `&lt;cc:attribute&gt;`, `&lt;ui:insert&gt;`+`&lt;ui:define&gt;` vs tag files, reuse of the existing templates. Is there anything besides syntax and clear interface specification in case of composite components? Could performance differ?

When to use &lt;ui:include&gt;, tag files, composite components and/or custom components?

I want to put a packman game on my *.xhtml page.(I am using jsf 2 and primefaces 3.5)

I&#39;d like to use non breaking spaces in my JSF page. I know, in plain HTML I could use `&amp;nbsp;` for this and this works fine. However, when I put those `&amp;nbsp;` in a Facelets page, then it errors as follows:

How is this caused and how can I solve it?

So basically I have:

How to use &amp;&amp; in EL boolean expressions in Facelets?

Facelets relies on XML namespaces to work with XHTML. How are HTML 4, and as far as I know, HTML 5 do not support namespaces. Also HTML 5 has some new elements that are not available in XHTML. Even HTML 4 and XHTML have some differences regarding elements and attributes they support.

The question is: Is it possible to render HTML 4/5 documents using Facelets? If so, how?

that I wrote all to resolve a &quot;stupid&quot; issue for the JSF2 framework, the fact that I can&#39;t link directly to a page stored in a `/WEB-INF` subfolder. After that I did some research on Google and Stackoverflow I would know a thing: How do I structure a JSF2 web project? 

In particular, where exactly do I put the XHTML pages?

Which XHTML files do I need to put in /WEB-INF and which not?

I&#39;ve done [tutorial about Facelets templating][1]. 

Now I&#39;ve tried to create a page that isn&#39;t in same directory as the template. I&#39;ve got problems with page style, because of styles are referenced with relative path like so:

I can use absolute referencing by starting with `/`:

I saw some examples creating the JSF pages with `.jsp` extension, other examples creating them with `.xhtml` extension, and other examples choose `.jsf`.
I just would like to know what the difference is between above extensions when working with JSF pages, and how to choose the appropriate extension?

I have difficulty in removing border from a specific PrimeFaces `&lt;p:panelGrid&gt;`.

I have been able to remove border from the cells with:

But

Does not work.

Been try to learn JSF, and sometimes I see the URL is `*.jsf` and sometimes is `*.xhtml` or `/faces/*`. Can someone fill my knowledge, please? When I create a JSF using Facelet, the file extension is `.xhtml`, so where does `.jsf` URL extension come from?

Sometimes I see JSF URL is *.jsf, sometimes *.xhtml and sometimes /faces/*. Why?

I&#39;m using JSF with facelets and I need to get the request and session parameters inside the JSF page. In JSP pages I got this parameter like that: `&quot;${requestScope.paramName}&quot;` or `&quot;${sessionScope.paramName}&quot;`. But now after using JSF there are only beans and you can&#39;t get any value except bean attributes.

NOTE: The session attributes what I need is auto filled using acegi security so I can&#39;t get any access to them.

It works in .jsp files, but not xhtml.

I google a lot, and in many places (including MyFaces wiki) it is said - &quot;Eclipse can&#39;t work with xhtml and facelets&quot;

Since this works with .jsp files, I assume there might be some mechanism with which to activate that content assist.

I started working on a project, which has already a large codebase, so changing the extensions is not an option. Additional plugins are aslo undesirable, but acceptable if nothing else works.

(I&#39;m asking the question to verify if someone hasn&#39;t found a witty workaround to this issue - otherwise I know it&#39;s not possible)
