Facelets is a XML based view technology. The `&amp;` is a [special character][1] in XML representing the start of an entity like `&amp;amp;` which ends with the `;` character. You&#39;d need to either escape it, which is ugly:

    rendered=&quot;#{beanA.prompt == true &amp;amp;&amp;amp; beanB.currentBase != null}&quot;

or to use the `and` keyword instead, which is preferred as to readability and maintainability:

    rendered=&quot;#{beanA.prompt == true and beanB.currentBase != null}&quot;

**Unrelated** to the concrete problem, comparing booleans with booleans makes little sense when the expression expects a boolean outcome already. I&#39;d get rid of `== true`:

In addition to the answer of BalusC, use the following Java RegExp to replace `&amp;&amp;` with `and`:

    Search:  (#\{[^\}]*)(&amp;&amp;)([^\}]*\})
    Replace: $1and$3

You have run this regular expression replacement multiple times to find all occurences in case you are using &gt;2 literals in your EL expressions. Mind to replace the leading # by $ if your EL expression syntax differs.

How to find out client ID of component for ajax update/render? Cannot find component with expression &quot;foo&quot; referenced from &quot;bar&quot;

I want to change the size of a PrimeFaces component. For example, a [`&lt;p:orderList&gt;`][1]. It has a class called `ui-orderlist-list` which is defined in `primefaces.css` with a fixed 200x200 dimension. No matter what I do in my `theme.css`, it is overwritten by this attribute and there is no way I can make the content part of a `&lt;p:orderList&gt;` wider.

For other components I might want to override just one instance of a component, not all. 

Can anyone please tell me how can I do all this?

that I wrote all to resolve a &quot;stupid&quot; issue for the JSF2 framework, the fact that I can&#39;t link directly to a page stored in a `/WEB-INF` subfolder. After that I did some research on Google and Stackoverflow I would know a thing: How do I structure a JSF2 web project? 

In particular, where exactly do I put the XHTML pages?

Which XHTML files do I need to put in /WEB-INF and which not?

I have a problem with a p:selectOneMenu, no matter what I do I cannot get JSF to call the setter on the JPA entity. JSF validation fails with this message:

&gt; form:location: Validation Error: Value is not valid

I have this working on several other class of the same type (ie, join table classes) but cannot for the life of me get this one working.

If anyone can throw some troubleshooting/debugging tips for this sort of problem it would be greatly appreciated.

Using log statements I have verified the following:

 1. The `Conveter` is returning correct, non `null` values.
 2. I have no Bean Validation in my JPA entities.
 3. The setter `setLocation(Location location)` is never called.

When trying to reference a managed bean in EL like so `#{bean.entity.property}`, sometimes a `javax.el.PropertyNotFoundException: Target Unreachable` exception is being thrown, usually when a bean property is to be set, or when a bean action is to be invoked.

There seem to be five different kinds of messages:
