As titled, I&#39;d like to know how to modify the `gradle.build.kts` in order to have a task to create a unique `jar` with all the dependencies (kotlin lib included) inside.

I found this sample in Groovy:

Running JAR file on Windows

I have a JAR with 4 classes, each one has Main method. I want to be able to run each one of those as per the need. I am trying to run it from command-line on Linux box.

    E.g. The name of my JAR is MyJar.jar

It has directory structure for the main classes as follows: 

    com/mycomp/myproj/dir1/MainClass1.class
    com/mycomp/myproj/dir2/MainClass2.class
    com/mycomp/myproj/dir3/MainClass3.class
    com/mycomp/myproj/dir4/MainClass4.class

I know that I can specify one class as main in my Manifest file. But is there any way by which I can specify some argument on command line to run whichever class I wish to run?

I tried this:

    jar cfe MyJar.jar com.mycomp.myproj.dir2.MainClass2 com/mycomp/myproj/dir2/MainClass2.class /home/myhome/datasource.properties /home/myhome/input.txt

And I got this error:

    com/mycomp/myproj/dir2/MainClass2.class : no such file or directory

(In the above command, &#39;/home/myhome/datasource.properties&#39; and &#39;/home/myhome/input.txt&#39; are the command line arguments).

 2. Select

I am trying to generate an executable jar for a small home project called &quot;logmanager&quot; using maven, just like this:

I added the snippet shown there to the pom.xml, and ran mvn assembly:assembly. It generates two jar files in logmanager/target: logmanager-0.1.0.jar, and logmanager-0.1.0-jar-with-dependencies.jar. I get an error when I double-click on the first jar:

    Could not find the main class: com.gorkwobble.logmanager.LogManager. Program will exit.

A slightly different error when I double-click the jar-with-dependencies.jar:

    Failed to load Main-Class manifest attribute from: C:\EclipseProjects\logmanager\target\logmanager-0.1.0-jar-with-dependencies.jar

I copied and pasted the path and classname, and checked the spelling in the POM. My main class launches fine from an eclipse launch configuration. Can someone help me figure out why my jar file won&#39;t run? Also, why are there two jars to begin with? Let me know if you need more information.

Building executable jar with maven?

I need to run a java jar in server in order to communicate between two applications. I have written two shell scripts to run it, but once I start up that script I can&#39;t shut down / terminate the process. If I press &lt;kbd&gt;ctrl&lt;/kbd&gt;+&lt;kbd&gt;C&lt;/kbd&gt; or close the console, the server will shut down. Could anyone help me how to modify this script to run as a normal server?

I&#39;ve got a simple project in Gradle 4.6 and would like to make an executable JAR of it. I&#39;ve tried `shadow`, `gradle-fatjar-plugin`, `gradle-one-jar`, `spring-boot-gradle-plugin` plugins but neither of them adds my dependencies declared as `implementation` (I don&#39;t have any `compile` ones). It works with `compile` e.g. for `gradle-one-jar` plugin but I would like to have `implementation` dependencies.

This has stumped me, and any coworkers I&#39;ve bugged for more than a day now.  Just to cull the answers, for now at least, third party solutions to this are probably out due to licensing restrictions and company policies (e.g.: tools for creating exe&#39;s or packaging up jars).  The ultimate goal is to create a jar that can be copied from my development Windows box to a Linux server (with any dependent jars) and used to populate a database (so classpaths may wind up being different between development and deployment environments).  Any clues to this mystery would be greatly appreciated!

NoClassDefFoundError while trying to run my jar with java.exe -jar...what&#39;s wrong?

I have files in resource folder. For example if I need to get file from resource folder, I do like that:

    File myFile= new File(MyClass.class.getResource(/myFile.jpg).toURI());

I&#39;ve **tested** and everything **works**!

The  path is

**But**, If I create jar file, using , **Maven**:

...and then start my app:

    java -jar MyJar.jar

This exception happens when I try to get file from resource folder. At this line. Why? Why have that problem in JAR file? What do you think?

Why is my URI not hierarchical?

I have been a Python programmer for almost two years, and I am used to writing small scripts to automate some repetitive tasks I had to do at the office. Now, apparently my colleagues noticed this, and they want those scripts too.

Some of them have Macs, some Windows; I made these on windows. I investigated the possibility of using py2exe or even py2app to make natives of my script, but they never satisfied me...

I came to know that all of them have JVM on their systems, so can I give them one single executable JAR file of my script using something like Jython may be?

How feasible is this... I mean, I had no idea how to write scripts for Jython, neither did I care about it when I wrote them... what kind of problems will it give?
