I am using **Volley** Network Library in my application.

**The Issue is that it is sending  data more than once when network connection is slow.**

And After I Google this issue, all i can find about this issue is below point:

But I am not able to edit my volley library Hurlkstack classes.

It says: 

The jar of this class file belong to container android Private libraries which does not allow modification to source attachments on it entries.

What should i do can some one help me

Android volley sending data twice

I was hoping that this piece of code would be enough for me to get implicit caching of responses. I&#39;m not sure if it works or not, because i was under the assumption when a request is sent:

1. it would hit the cache first and send that to onresponse

2. then when the results come through from the remote server it would provide it to the onresponse 

Update:

I figured how to manually retrieve the cache and reconstruct it into a JSONObject and send it through OnResponse function but that doesn&#39;t seem to efficient considering there is implicit caching. JsonObjectRequest class should return JSONObject as the cached entry instead of raw response data.

But i&#39;m still interested to know if i&#39;m making some mistake.

The ambiguity is solely due to the lack of documentation, so i apologize if i&#39;m missing something quite obvious.

Android Volley + JSONObjectRequest Caching

I use the new Volley framework for Android to do a request to my server. But it timeouts before getting the response, although it does respond. 

I tried adding this code:

    HttpConnectionParams.setConnectionTimeout(httpParams, 5000);
    HttpConnectionParams.setSoTimeout(httpParams, timeoutMs);

in `HttpClientStack` of the Volley framework to a different integer (50000), but it still times out before 50 seconds.

Is there a way to change the timeout to a long value?

I am rarely getting this error while making an API call.

    java.lang.IllegalStateException: Fragment  not attached to Activity

I tried putting the code inside `isAdded()` method to check whether  fragment is currently added to its activity but still i rarely gets this error. I fail to understand why I am still getting this error. How can i prevent it?

Imagine I&#39;m in a Service that already has a background thread. Can I do a request using volley in that same thread, so that callbacks happen synchronously?

There are 2 reasons for this: 
- First, I do not need another thread and it would be a waste to create it.
- Second, if I&#39;m in a ServiceIntent, the execution of the thread will finish before the callback, and therefor I will have no response from Volley. I know I can create my own Service that has some thread with a runloop I can control, but it would be desirable having this functionality in volley.

Can I do a synchronous request with volley?

I have few questions around using Volley in my projects:

 1. Can this library be used in any Java project or just Android?
 2. I see multiple branches [here][1] and no documentation on which branch is to start with. Which branch should I use to start with?
 3. How do you integrate this library in your own project? What approach is better: Make Volley as a standalone library project and spin a jar and put it in your project or copy the all source code inside your project?

Volley Android Networking Library

I am using the volley library to perform network operation in android. So I am trying to add this library in my project  which is created in Android Studio and gradle system.

I added the volley library in my project but when I sync with gradle then I am getting error message. I tried all the answers which I see here but nothing worked for me.

Error: Configuration with name &#39;default&#39; not found in Android Studio

This is not really a question, however, I would like to share some of my working code here for your reference when you need.

As we know that `HttpEntity` is deprecated from API22 and comletely removed since API23. At the moment, we cannot access [HttpEntity Reference on Android Developer][1] anymore (404).  So, the following is my working sample code for **POST Multipart Request with Volley and without HttpEntity**. It&#39;s working, tested with `Asp.Net Web API`. Of course, the code perhaps is just a basic sample that posts two existed drawable files, also is not the best solution for all cases, and not good tuning.

Working POST Multipart Request with Volley and without HttpEntity

How can custom headers be set for a Volley request? At the moment, there is way to set body content for a POST request. I&#39;ve a simple GET request, but I need to pass the custom headers alongwith. I don&#39;t see how JsonRequest class supports it. Is it possible at all?

Has anyone been able to accomplish sending a `multipart/form-data` POST in Android with Volley yet? I have had no success trying to upload an `image/png` using a POST request to our server and am curious if anyone has. 

I believe the default way to do this would be to override `public byte[] getPostBody()` in the `Request.java` class and attach the `File` there with a blank Header key for the boundary. However, converting my file to a `String` for the `Map&lt;String, String&gt; postParams` and then having it encoded again seems obtuse and not really elegant.  Also I&#39;ve been unsuccessful in my attempts. This is really the only thing holding us back from switching to this library.

Anyway, all thoughts and answers are extremely appreciated. Thank you for your help.  

How to send a “multipart/form-data” POST in Android with Volley

But I could not create a .jar library with the volley files:

Send POST request with JSON data using Volley

I saw Google IO 2013 session about Volley and I&#39;m considering switching to volley. Does Volley support adding POST/GET parameters to request? If yes, how can I do it?

I&#39;ve seen different advice on the best way to do this [This question][1] covers creating a jar. Elsewhere, I&#39;ve seen advice to simply copy the volley source into your own project. [This section][2] on libraries at android.com would seem the most authoritative. However, after compiling volley, I don&#39;t have an aal library, whereas that section says I should have.

So my question is this: I have an existing Android Studio project with a standard layout, and a git repository; what should I do to add volley? Where should I download it to? How should I add it to Android Studio? Which Gradle files, if any, do I need to modify.

Hopefully, for those of you have done this a few times, this should be bread-and-butter stuff, but I haven&#39;t been able to find a straightforward description.

The gradle.build file in the volley repository has this line.

    apply plugin: &#39;android-library&#39;

According to [the documentation][3]: &quot;*Library projects do not generate an APK, they generate a .aar package (which stands for Android archive).*&quot; However, when I build the volley project, no .aar is created.

My feeling is that as Volley is a library project, created by the Android team, it is most probably intended to be generated and used as .aar package. Any advice on whether it would be preferable to generate a .aar, and how to do that, would be appreciated.

Best way to incorporate Volley (or other library) into Android Studio project

I am thinking of implementing the Android Volley library in my next projects ([Google IO presentation about Volley][1]).

However, I haven&#39;t found any serious API for that library.

How do you use the Android Volley API?

I am using **Volley** for my Android app to fetch data from my server. It works well except when handling the error from my server. My server sends this response when there is a mistake:

Android: How handle message error from the server using Volley?

Hi I&#39;ve a tabbed activity, and in the first tab I fetch data from server and show it in a recyclerview within card views. For fetching the data from server I use the volley library. I want to implement the Pull to refresh to load the data (so whenever I pull it has to do the request to the network). And I want also to disable the network request whenever I switch between tabs (because when I change tab focus in my app it starts to fetching data) I want to do the network request only 1 time (when user log in first time) and then others requests maneged only by pull to refresh.

I&#39;m developing an Android app that communicate with a RESTful web service I wrote. Using `Volley` for `GET` methods is awesome and easy, but I can&#39;t put my finger on the `POST` methods.

I want to send a `POST` request with a `String` in the body of the request, and retrieve the raw response of the web service (like `200 ok`, `500 server error`).

All I could find is the `StringRequest` which doesn&#39;t allow to send with data (body), and also it bounds me to receive a parsed `String` response.
I also came across `JsonObjectRequest` which accepts data (body) but retrieve a parsed `JSONObject` response.

I decided to write my own implementation, but I cannot find a way to receive the raw response from the web service. How can I do it?

How to send a POST request using volley with string body?

I have a problem with Volley POST request on slow network. Everytime I see `BasicNetwork.logSlowRequests` in my LogCat, my POST request is executed twice or more resulting multiple (2 or more) postings for 1 request. I already set the retry policy to 0, but It doesn&#39;t help.

Android Volley double post when have slow request

I would to build an object of getString and call get_String in other fields. But it seems that it is hard to get the result out from the onResponse. I know it cannot work in this current way. Could anyone help me to settle this problem?


How can I return value from function onResponse of Volley?

Does anybody know how to attach a session cookie to the request using com.android.volley library?
When I log in to a web site it gives me a session cookie. Browser would send that cookie back with any subsequent request. Volley does not seem to do that, at least not automatically.

Using cookies with Android volley library

I am trying to make a https request using this code:

    RequestQueue queue = Volley.newRequestQueue(getApplicationContext());
    request = new Request&lt;String&gt;(Request.Method.GET,&quot;https://devblahblahblah.com/service/etc&quot;,errListener);


but I am getting this error:

&gt; com.android.volley.NoConnectionError:
&gt; javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException:
&gt; java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: Trust anchor for
&gt; certification path not found.

Two points to be noted:

 1. The HTTPS cert is valid. Easily opens without any warning on browser.
 2. The above code works fine with HTTP links.

I actually need to know if there are any switches/options in the Android Volley framework by using which I&#39;ll successfully hit a HTTPS URL?
