How to put a CardView attribute in a style?

I tried to use CardView in my Application which worked pretty good within my xml Layout. Since I want to generate them in my code and not via xml I tried to set the radius with CardView.setRadius()-Method as suggested by Android Developers (https://developer.android.com/preview/material/ui-widgets.html#cardview).

This does not work at all! I hope someone can help me, with my problem or got a nice workaround with xml layouts.

I&#39;m trying to get a CardView to display the ripple effect when touched by setting the android:backgound attribute in the activity XML file as described [here][1] on the Android Developers page, but it isn&#39;t working. No animation at all, but the method in onClick is called. I&#39;ve also tried creating a ripple.xml file as suggested [here][2], but same result.

Ripple effect on Android Lollipop CardView

I am using RecyclerView with GridLayoutManager and I have each item as CardView.

Unfortunately, the CardView here does not seem to change its background color. I tried in layout and programmatically as well but I have tried nothing seems to work.

I Have been struggling for quite a while. I appreciate if someone could help me out with this issue.

CardView background color always white

The [CardView][1] has an attribute `card_view:cardBackgroundColor` to define the background color.
This attribute works fine.

At the same time there isn&#39;t a method to change the color dynamically.

I&#39;ve just tried solutions like:

    mCardView.setBackgroundColor(...);

or using a Layout inside the cardView

       &lt;android.support.v7.widget.CardView&gt;
            &lt;LinearLayout
                android:id=&quot;@+id/inside_layout&quot;&gt;
        &lt;/android.support.v7.widget.CardView&gt;

I know backgroundColor but i have image on my Layout.

From what I understand, early in the preview stage there seemed to be no way to set elevation in XML only on `CardView`s without a hack in Java. Now that the official release is out, is there any way of doing this in XML without writing Java code to set elevation?

I have tried `card_view:cardElevation` to no effect.  I had thought when I was using the emulators for 5.0 everything was fine. But now that I&#39;m using the official version on my actual device all of my `CardView`s disappeared

How to add colored border on cardview?

I have a `RecyclerView` that is inside a `CardView`. The `CardView` has a height of 500dp, but I want to shorten this height if the `RecyclerView` is smaller.
So I wonder if there is any listener that is called when the `RecyclerView` has finished laying down its items for the first time, making it possible to set the `RecyclerView`&#39;s height to the `CardView`&#39;s height (if smaller than 500dp).

How to know when the RecyclerView has finished laying down the items?

Hello I am am working on demo application in which i am using the card view of support library. By default it is adding shadow around it. I want to remove this shadow &amp; should looks like simple.

I tried this that is not working for me.

Round only top corner of cardview

I&#39;m using `android:paddingLeft` and `android:paddingTop` to set the padding for the new `CardView` widget but it doesn&#39;t work. 

I can set the margin for all the controls inside the `CardView` as a workaround but that&#39;s a pain if there are too many controls. 

How to set padding for the new cardview widget?

I have a `CardView` with rounded corners, I want to have an `ImageView` at the top like shown in the example taken from the material design guidelines below.

However, the [material design guidelines][3] state that cards should have rounded corners, and not square corners.

The problem I have is when I set the `card_view:cardCornerRadius` to something other than  `0dp`, e.g. `4dp`, then the following happens:

As can be seen, the `ImageView` does not fit into the `CardView`.

My question is, how can I make this `ImageView` fit to the layout of the `CardView` when it has rounded corners.

This won&#39;t work because you can&#39;t set a tag nor can I access the adapter from `onClick.`

How do I get the position selected in a RecyclerView?

Hi I&#39;ve a tabbed activity, and in the first tab I fetch data from server and show it in a recyclerview within card views. For fetching the data from server I use the volley library. I want to implement the Pull to refresh to load the data (so whenever I pull it has to do the request to the network). And I want also to disable the network request whenever I switch between tabs (because when I change tab focus in my app it starts to fetching data) I want to do the network request only 1 time (when user log in first time) and then others requests maneged only by pull to refresh.

**And my problem:** as you see in CAdapter, only constructor&#39;s **Log** message displayed.

**UPDATE**: if there is another way to display some dynamic data inside another dynamic card if yes is it better to use it instead of recyclerView?

How to add a recyclerView inside another recyclerView

I would love to enable touch feedback for my Open-Source library.

I&#39;ve created a `RecyclerView` and a `CardView`. The `CardView` contains different areas with different `onClick` actions. Now I would love to trigger the Ripple effect if a user clicks anywhere in the card, but I&#39;m not able to achieve this behavior.

Touch feedback with RecyclerView and CardView

I&#39;d like to use the new CardView widget that was introduced with the new Android L Developer Preview Support Library (As mentioned [here][1]), which seems to be part of a new revision of the v7 support library.

I have now updated my SDK version, downloaded the newest Support Library package, but I still cannot find the new CardView widget.

I already searched the web and the official docs, but could not get any hints on where I can get the new support library.

Any help is highly appreciated!

Using android.support.v7.widget.CardView in my project (Eclipse)

In brief:

How can we define color states of CardView&#39;s cardBackgroundColor property (in a ListView layout, in this case)? 

(I am using RC1 of Android L developer preview, on a phone with 4.4 installed, and &quot;com.android.support:cardview-v7:21.0.0-rc1&quot; in build.gradle)

Longer:

In CardView layout, we set the corner radius and background color of the CardView via cardCornerRadius and cardBackgroundColor.

However, the background color doesn&#39;t repect selected states, i.e. if the list item is pressed, for example.

If, in the inner view of the CardView, you set a background colour, and associated states, which are respected, however, it will display over the corners you defined in the CardView.

So, how can we ensure the states in CardView&#39;s cardBackgroundColor are respected?

CardView background color states not being respected

I&#39;m trying to implement a layout which contains RecyclerView and ScrollView at the same layout.

Layout template:

Problems: i can scroll until the last element of `ScrollView`

Things i tried: 

 1. card view inside the `ScrollView` (now `ScrollView` contains `RecyclerView`) - can see the card up until the `RecyclerView`
 2. initial thought was to implement this `viewGroup` using `RecyclerView` instead of `ScrollView` where one of it&#39;s views type is the `CardView` but i got the exact same results as with the `ScrollView`
