I know that similar questions have been asked before, but my problem is new only after installing Android Studio 2.3, the latest version in March 2017.  I have several years experience developing Android applications, and I have never encountered this problem before.  After upgrading to version 2.3 of Android Studio, my emulator is no longer able to access the internet.  I even uninstalled/reinstalled Android Studio 2.3 from scratch and created a new emulator, and I am still getting the same error.  This is not an app problem.  I can&#39;t even access the internet from Chrome, and I wasn&#39;t having this problem last week.  The message that I get says that the server DNS address could not be found -- DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_BAD_CONFIG.  The only thing that has changed on my computer in the last week is the new version of Android plus possibly updates to Windows 10.  And yes, my computer has access to the internet.  Below is an image of my emulator when I try to use Chrome to search for &quot;Google&quot;.

Android emulator not able to access the internet

I have Android Studio Beta. I created a new project with compile my old modules but when I tried launching the app it did not launch with the message:

    Error:Execution failed for task &#39;:app:transformDexArchiveWithExternalLibsDexMergerForDebug&#39;.

But I don&#39;t know how to solve this error. I googled this for hours but with no success.

When I did not import the second module (parser) the app did not crash on dex but when the module was not imported app did not work. :D :D 

Unable to merge dex

So I&#39;m reading *Android 6 for Programmers: An App-Driven Approach* and the first two app examples I had no issues with the examples, this time the FlagQuiz example when loaded in Android Studio 3.0 Canary-3 I&#39;m getting this error which isn&#39;t letting me build the project:

&gt; Error:Unsupported method: BaseConfig.getApplicationIdSuffix().
The version of Gradle you connect to does not support that method.
To resolve the problem you can change/upgrade the target version of Gradle you connect to.
Alternatively, you can ignore this exception and read other information from the model.

I am trying to run a selected build variant but giving me following error in Run tab,

I am trying a sample with [Room Persistence Library][1].
I created an Entity:

Seems like that problem is related to execution of db operation on main thread. However the sample test code provided in above link does not run on a separate thread:

I&#39;m using **Android Studio 3.2 Beta5** to migrate my project to **AndroidX**. When I rebuild my app I got these errors:

I just updated my Android Studio to 3.0 canary 1.
Now I am working on my existing project on Android Studio 3.0 canary 1.
By default **gradle:3.0.0-alpha1** is set in my project: gradle_file. 
So I changed my gradle version to 2.2.3 and now I&#39;m getting this error:

Newly installed **Android studio 3.1.3** is giving strange dependencies error when making a new project and compiling for very first time.

Failed linking file resources

I installed Flutter following official document and also installed Flutter and Dart plugin on Android Studio.

But, I can&#39;t see File&gt;New Flutter Project wizard on Android Studio 3.0.1

New Flutter Project wizard not showing on Android Studio 3.0.1

I have updated Android Studio to version 3 and now seems unable to compile my project previously compiled without errors.

The error message is the follow

So why It doesn&#39;t compile?
Is this a bug of Android Studio 3 and\or included `com.android.tools.build:gradle:3.0.0` plugin or I&#39;m missing something? With the previous version no problem to compile exactly the same project.

In Android Studio 3.0, once we create a project, a folder named `mipmap-anydpi-v26` is automatically created in the `res` directory. What actually does it do? Why do we need it? How will we utilize it for development purposes?

Also, there are two XML files automatically created in this folder after project setup. Why do these XML files reside in a mipmap folder? I thought we should keep all XML files in a drawable folder instead of mipmap.

I&#39;m totally new to Android programming. I have Android Studio 3.0.1 running on Kubuntu Xenial 64-bit on a desktop with a Haswell processor.

I am configuring virtual devices. I am thinking of doing that corresponding to the physical Android devices I own. However, I notice that x86 images are placed in the &quot;Recommended&quot; pane:

A few of my old devices are x86 but the newer ones are x86_64. Should I choose x86_64 accordingly though it is not in the &quot;Recommended&quot; pane?

Does this make a difference when I am going to distribute APKs on Google Play Store in the future?

I recently noticed a new file generated at `&lt;module&gt;/release/output.json` by Android Studio 3 Canary 1 each time I run `Build` -&gt; `Generate Signed APK...`, which has contents that look like following.

Android Studio 3.0 Error. Migrate dependency configurations for local modules

I&#39;m using Android Studio 3.0 Canary 1. I&#39;m trying to update it to Android Studio 3.0 Canary 2 but it shows the following error:

I even tried running Android studio with sudo from the command line:
