When trying to connect a Navigation Bar Button to the Exit item of a ViewController in Xcode 6 (not really sure if it&#39;s an Xcode 6 problem but worth mentioning as it is in beta) it does not find the Swift function in the custom class.

The function it should be finding:

    @IBAction func unwindToList(segue: UIStoryboardSegue) {
    
    }


I made another button on the view just to make sure I could get an IBAction working with Swift and that I was writing it correctly. This works fine:

    @IBAction func test(sender: AnyObject) {
    
        NSLog(&quot;Test&quot;)
    }

I have seen [this question](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/12792573/cannot-connect-storyboard-unwind-segue) that seems like the same issue but according to the answers there this should be working.

Xcode 6 is in beta and, of course, Swift is very new, but wanted to see if anyone has come across this before considering it a potential bug.

I created a toolbar in IB with several buttons. I would like to be able to hide/show one of the buttons depending on the state of the data in the main window. 

`UIBarButtonItem` doesn&#39;t have a hidden property, and any examples I&#39;ve found so far for hiding them involve setting nav bar buttons to nil, which I don&#39;t think I want to do here because I may need to show the button again (not to mention that, if I connect my button to an IBOutlet, if I set that to nil I&#39;m not sure how I&#39;d get it back).

How do I show/hide a UIBarButtonItem?

I am trying to change the color of the Settings button to white, but can&#39;t get it to change.

I&#39;ve tried both of these:

    navigationItem.leftBarButtonItem?.tintColor = UIColor.whiteColor()
    navigationItem.backBarButtonItem?.tintColor = UIColor.whiteColor()

but no change, it still looks like this:

What I wanted to do is to remove the text from the &#39;Back&#39; button of a ```UIBarButtonItem```, leaving only the blue chevron on the navigation bar. Keep in mind that I&#39;m developing for iOS 7. I&#39;ve tried several methods, including, but not limited to:

This is the image method which I did not like (the image looked out of place):

Removing the title text of an iOS UIBarButtonItem

I&#39;m trying to overwrite the default action of the back button in a navigation controller. I&#39;ve provided a target an action on the custom button.  The odd thing is when assigning it though the backbutton attribute it doesn&#39;t pay attention to them and it just pops the current view and goes back to the root:

    UIBarButtonItem *backButton = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] 
                                      initWithTitle: @&quot;Servers&quot; 
                                      style:UIBarButtonItemStylePlain 
                                      target:self 
                                      action:@selector(home)];
    self.navigationItem.backBarButtonItem = backButton;

As soon as I set it through the `leftBarButtonItem` on the `navigationItem` it calls my action, however then the button looks like a plain round one instead of the arrowed back one:

    self.navigationItem.leftBarButtonItem = backButton;

How can I get it to call my custom action before going back to the root view?  Is there a way to overwrite the default back action, or is there a method that is always called when leaving a view (`viewDidUnload` doesn&#39;t do that)?

I&#39;ve been looking around for this solution for a while but haven&#39;t got any. 
e.g one solution is 
      
     self.navigationItem.setRightBarButtonItem(UIBarButtonItem(barButtonSystemItem: .Stop, target: self, action: nil), animated: true)

This code will add a button with &quot;stop&quot; image. Just like this, there are other solutions with &quot;search, &quot;refresh&quot; etc. But **what if I want to add a button programmatically with the image I want?**

How big should a UIBarButtonItem image be?

I have a view controller that is the detail view of a table.  When you click on the row of the table it takes you to the detail view.  The detail view is embedded in a navigation controller such that there is a button at the upper left of the navigation bar that sends you back to the table.  So far so good.

I now want to add an edit button to the right side of the navigation bar so that you can edit the detail view.  My plan is this will add another view controller modally that lets you edit the details of the item.  Standard stuff.

However, when I try to drag a bar button item from the list of objects to the navigation bar, it won&#39;t take.  Instead, when I let go off the mouse button, it leaves the bar button on the tab bar controller at the bottom.  (My navigation scheme includes different tabs and for each tab a table, detail view etc.)

Anyone run across this before and can suggest what I&#39;m doing wrong or some sort of workaround to add the bar button item to the right side of the navigation screen.  Do I have to add it in code?

The following code successfully places the button in the navigation bar:

Now, I would like to call `func sayHello() { println(&quot;Hello&quot;) }` when the button is touched. My efforts so far:

    // also with `sayHello` `sayHello()`, and `sayHello():`

and..

I drag a Round Rect Button to the position of the right Bar Button Item, and set an image to the Round Rect Button. All works well, except the warning &quot;Plain Style unsupported in a Navigation Item&quot;. Even if i select the style of the Bar Button Item to &quot;Bordered&quot;, warning still be there. Add button to navigationbar programmatically

I want to create a UIBarButtonItem with a custom image, but I don&#39;t want the border that iPhone adds, as my Image has a special border.

It&#39;s the same as the back button but a forward button.

This App is for an inHouse project, so I don&#39;t care if Apple reject or approves it or likes it :-)

UIBarButtonItem with custom image and no border

When I push a `UIViewController`, it has some title in back button at new `UIViewController`, if the title has a lot of text, It does not look good in iPhone 4s So I want to remove it.
 
If I add some code in `prepareForSegue` function, it is going to be a trouble.

Any better way to achieve this？

How to remove all navigationbar back button title

I was using iOS 6.1 earlier, but now I have moved to iOS 7. Along with other problems, I have observed that in my navigation bar, the left space of left bar button item and right empty space of the right button bar item are quite more in IOS 7 than in iOS 6.

I need to know is there a way I can reduce empty spaces of left, right bar button items in navigation bar??

I have an iOS 7 app where I am setting a custom back button like this:

But this disables the iOS 7 &quot;swipe left to right&quot; gesture to navigate to the previous controller. Does anyone know how I can set a custom button and still keep this gesture enabled?

How to add multiple UIBarButtonItems on right side of Navigation Bar?

I&#39;ve created a popover from a `UIBarButtonItem` using Xcode Storyboards (so there&#39;s no code) like this:

Presenting the popover works just fine. However, I can&#39;t get the popover to *disappear* when I tap the `UIBarButtonItem` that made it appear. 

When the button is pressed (first time) the popover appears. When the button is pressed again (second time) the same popover appears on top of it, so now I have two popovers (or more if I continuer pressing the button). According to the [iOS Human Interface Guidelines][2] I need to make the popover appear on the first tap and disappear on the second:

 &gt; Ensure that only one popover is visible onscreen at a time. You should not display more than one popover (or custom view designed to look and behave like a popover) at the same time. In particular, you should avoid displaying a cascade or hierarchy of popovers simultaneously, in which one popover emerges from another.

How can I dismiss the popover when the user taps the `UIBarButtonItem` for a second time?

I am trying to set an Image for bar button Item for that I have an image like:

I&#39;m trying to add a `UIBarButtonItem` containing a `UIImage` to a `UIToolbar`.  The image keeps being tinted and I can&#39;t get it to show as the original colored image - all I want to do is display an image, verbatim, in a `UIBarButtonItem`!  I&#39;m following the directions in the iOS 7 transition guide to set the image rendering mode to `UIImageRenderingModeAlwaysOriginal`.

    UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed:@&quot;myImage.png&quot;];
    image = [image imageWithRenderingMode:UIImageRenderingModeAlwaysOriginal];

One thing to note is that I set the tintColor for the main UIWindow of my app right when it loads...maybe this isn&#39;t important with regard to my issue, but thought I&#39;d mention it.
