I install the CLion on a Ubuntu 14.04. I build my first project with help CMakeLists.txt:

Source file:

My source file is located in a **/home/user/Desktop/sh**. But after build, I don&#39;t see any executable file in this folder. Where is it?

I&#39;ve installed jupyter on local network LAN but im unable to access `http://&lt;IP&gt;:8888` from another macine on LAN. I&#39;ve opened ports 8888 and port range 49152 to 65535 with iptables (this range is specified at http://jupyter-notebook.readthedocs.io/en/latest/public_server.html) 

This guide http://jupyter-notebook.readthedocs.io/en/latest/public_server.html describes exposing a notebook publicly but I&#39;m just attempting to share over LAN.

Have I missed a step ?

I&#39;m failing miserably to be able to restore a single collection into an existing database.
I&#39;m running Ubuntu 14.04 with mongo version 2.6.7
There is a dump/mydbname/contents.bson based off my home directory.

If I run

    mongorestore --collection contents --db mydbname

Then I get:

    connected to: 127.0.0.1
    don&#39;t know what to do with file [dump]

If I add in the path

    mongorestore --collection contents --db mydbname --dbpath dump/mydbname

Then I get

    If you are running a mongod on the same path you should connect to that instead of direct data file access

I&#39;ve tried various other combinations, options, etc. and just can&#39;t puzzle it out, so I&#39;m coming to the community for help!


Restoring single collection in an existing mongodb

Trying to install inside a docker, either vim or nano but I only get this:

    0% [Connecting to archive.ubuntu.com (91.189.88.152)]

Exit docker and do `ping archive.ubuntu.com` and I get reply, do the same time inside docker it does not respond. 

What could be the problem?

I tried installing Docker using ubuntu 14.0LTS virtualbox

`sudo apt get install docker`

However, when I try running docker it gives me the following error

`The program &#39;docker&#39; is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
sudo apt-get install docker`

I have an app with the following services:

- `web/` - holds and runs a python 3 flask web server on port 5000. Uses sqlite3.
- `worker/` - has an `index.js` file which is a worker for a queue. the web server interacts with this queue using a json API over port `9730`. The worker uses redis for storage. The worker also stores data locally in the folder `worker/images/`

Now this question only concerns the `worker`.

### `worker/Dockerfile`

When I run `docker-compose build`, everything works as expected and all npm modules are installed in `/worker/node_modules` as I&#39;d expect.

If on the host, I `npm install`, then everything works just fine. But I don&#39;t want to do that. I want the container to handle dependencies.

What&#39;s going wrong here?

(Needless to say, all packages are in `package.json`.)

Docker-compose: node_modules not present in a volume after npm install succeeds

When I run `docker-compose up` in my Docker project it failes with the following message:

    Error starting userland proxy: listen tcp 0.0.0.0:3000: bind: address already in use

`netstat -pna | grep 3000`
shows this:

    tcp        0      0 0.0.0.0:3000            0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN      -  

I&#39;ve already tried `docker-compose down`, but it doesn&#39;t help.

I am trying to run cv2, but when I try to import it, I get the following error:

`ImportError: libGL.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory`

The suggested solution online is installing

`apt install libgl1-mesa-glx`

but this is already installed and the latest version.

NB: I am actually running this on Docker, and I am not able to check the OpenCV version. I tried importing matplotlib and that imports fine.

Cannot connect to the Docker daemon at unix:/var/run/docker.sock. Is the docker daemon running?

Where&#39;s docker&#39;s daemon.json? (missing)

I want to download an image accessible from this link: `https://www.python.org/static/apple-touch-icon-144x144-precomposed.png` into my local system. Now, I&#39;m aware that the `curl` command can be used to download remote files through the terminal. So, I entered the following in my terminal in order to download the image into my local system:

    curl https://www.python.org/static/apple-touch-icon-144x144-precomposed.png


However, this doesn&#39;t seem to work, so obviously there is some other way to download images from the Internet using `curl`. What is the correct way to download images using this command?

`dmesg | tail` command shows output like this,

Given the option between using GPG and OpenSSL for local encryption before pushing archives to an off-site backup location, what are the benefits and drawbacks of each solution?

Background:
I currently manage a server infrastructure based on Ubuntu 14.04.1 with all current patches applied as they become available.

All of these systems are headless, automatically built using vetted preseeds and automation tools, and run in virtual machines via KVM on uniform Intel-based hardware.

We have a preference for Ruby, but a stronger preference for &quot;doing things correctly&quot;. Because of both, we&#39;ve chosen the &quot;backup&quot; gem as the means to create encrypted archives of data we want preserved, since it will create the same encrypted archives for a developer using Vagrant that it would in production, regardless of the mechanism by which it&#39;s transmitted. 

All software and configuration is managed via Puppet, so neither decision will have any impact on &quot;user experience&quot; or convenience. Either option will create relevant scripts to manage, verify, or restore from any backups created. 

Given that, does either encryption option offer any advantage against the other when used for this purpose?

I&#39;m using g++ 4.8.4 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. When trying to compile with &#39;-std=c++14&#39;, I get this error:

    g++: error unrecognized command line option &#39;-std=c++14&#39;

Compiling with &#39;-std=c++11&#39; works fine, so I&#39;m not sure what&#39;s going on. Does g++ really have no support for c++14 yet? Am I using a wrong command line option?

I used &quot;sudo apt-get install g++&quot; which should automatically retrieve the latest version, is that correct?

Compile c++14-code with g++

i&#39;m using **android studio 2.1.1** in ubuntu 14.04.Now my question is,i want to run the program through my phone without emulator. so i chose the target as usb device but whenever i run this,below mentioned error is rasing.

**Error running app : No target device found.**

i checked my device by using **adb devices** command in terminal.

i also tried with selecting of MTP &amp; PTP.but nothing worked out.

I am installing **sylius** bundle and while install sylius I need to run `yarn install` So
While I run the command: 

    yarn install

I get the error:
&gt; ERROR: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: &#39;install&#39;

Yarn install command error No such file or directory: &#39;install&#39;

I was just adding tmux plugins to my .tmux.conf file to find out that one of the plugins (tmux-copycat I think) requires tmux 1.9.  When I start tmux I get the message `Error: Tmux version unsupported.  Please install tmux version 1.9 or greater!&quot;.  

So, what is the best way to upgrade tmux 1.8 to 1.9 on Ubuntu 14.04?
