I have a task to clean up a large number of directories.  I want to start at a directory and delete any sub-directories (no matter how deep) that contain no files (files will never be deleted, only directories).  The starting directory will then be deleted if it contains no files or subdirectories.  I was hoping someone could point me to some existing code for this rather than having to reinvent the wheel.  I will be doing this using C#.

I want to import subfolders as modules. Therefore every subfolder contains a `__init__.py`. My folder structure is like this:

    src\
      main.py
      dirFoo\
        __init__.py
        foofactory.py
        dirFoo1\
          __init__.py
          foo1.py
        dirFoo2\
          __init__.py
          foo2.py

In my main script I import
    
    from dirFoo.foofactory import FooFactory
In this factory file I include the sub modules:

    from dirFoo1.foo1 import Foo1
    from dirFoo2.foo2 import Foo2

If I call my foofactory I get the error, that python can&#39;t import the submodules foo1 and foo2:

I know this will delete everything in a subdirectory and below it:

    rm -rf &lt;subdir-name&gt;

But how do you delete everything in the current directory as well as every subdirectory below it and the contents of all of those subdirectories?

I have seen similar questions ([1][1], [2][2] and [3][3]), but I don&#39;t get a proper solution from them. 

I need to ignore all files under a particular folder except for a specific file type. The folder is a subdirectory for the root path. Let me name the folder `Resources`. Since I don&#39;t want to complicate things, let me ignore files under all folders named **`Resources`** wherever it is.

This is the most common solution (in all the duplicate questions)

    # Ignore everything
    *

    # Don&#39;t ignore directories, so we can recurse into them
    !*/

    # Don&#39;t ignore .gitignore
    !.gitignore

    # Now exclude our type
    !*.foo

The problem with this solution is that **it stops tracking newly added files** (since `*` ignores all files). I don&#39;t want to keep excluding each and every file type. I want normal behaviour where if any new file is added, `git status` shows it. 

I finally got a solution [here][4]. The solution is to add another `.gitignore` file in `Resources` folder. This works correctly. 

Can I achieve the same with one ignore file? I find having many ignore files in different directories a bit clunky.

This is what I&#39;m trying to achieve:

    Resources

    # Don&#39;t ignore directories, so we can recurse into them
    !*Resources/

    # Now exclude our type

But this gives the opposite output. It ignores `*.foo` types and tracks other files.

I have password protected my entire website using `.htaccess` but I would like to expose one of the sub directories so that it can be viewed without a password.

**How can I disable htaccess password protection for a sub directory? Specifically what is the `.htaccess` syntax.**

How to remove .htaccess password protection from a subdirectory

I have my Git repository which, at the root, has two sub directories:

    /finisht
    /static

When this was in [SVN][1], `/finisht` was checked out in one place, while `/static` was checked out elsewhere, like so:

    svn co svn+ssh://admin@domain.com/home/admin/repos/finisht/static static

Is there a way to do this with Git?

How do I clone a subdirectory only of a Git repository?

I am trying to print a list of the ***folders*** and ***sub folders*** of a directory to a file.

When I run **`dir /s/b/o:n &gt; f.txt`**, I get a list of the files also. I only need the folders and  sub folders.

I&#39;m starting to learn Qt. I&#39;m moving from the Visual Studio world and I am looking for a way to organize my project&#39;s structure using QMake. I&#39;ve found the &#39;subdirs&#39; template but I have quite a hard time understanding it.  

My project structure looks like this:  

    project_dir/
        main.cpp
        project.pro
        logic/
          logic.pro
          some logic files
        gui/
          gui.pro
          gui files

My *project.pro* looks like this

    TEMPLATE = subdirs
    SUBDIRS = logic \
              gui
    SOURCES += main.cpp

In the *.pro* files for the subdirectories I have appropriate *SOURCES*, *HEADERS* and *RESOURCES* variables set.

Please tell me what *TARGET*, *TEMPLATE* and other necessary values I should set in the *.pro* files.

Also, is there some good QMake tutorial other than the official one?

I was wondering if any of you know of a way to install Laravel 4 in a web host SUBDIRECTORY / subfolder while not exposing the /app/ folder and other sensible files to the publicly accesible part of the host.

The idea is, I&#39;d be able to access http://mydomain.com/mylaravel/ to be able to use Laravel, but at the same time I want to avoid anyone doing something like going to http://mydomain.com/app/ or http://mydomain.com/mylaravel/app/ and basically being able to see my config files and other code.
