I&#39;m looking for a quick way to type the &lt;kbd&gt;Enter&lt;/kbd&gt; or &lt;kbd&gt;Return&lt;/kbd&gt; key in Selenium. 

Unfortunately, the form I&#39;m trying to test (not my own code, so I can&#39;t modify) doesn&#39;t have a &lt;kbd&gt;Submit&lt;/kbd&gt; button. When working with it manually, I just type &lt;kbd&gt;Enter&lt;/kbd&gt; or &lt;kbd&gt;Return&lt;/kbd&gt;. How can I do that with the Selenium `type` command as there is no button to click?

How to handle the `onKeyPress` event in ReactJS?

I&#39;ve built an app for a game, simple to start. It&#39;s a game in which the system randomly chooses a number and a gamer (player) tries to find out the number. Everything is almost done. The app consists of a `QLineEdit`, a label and three buttons. Once the app tells the player the range of the wanted number, he/she types a *bet_number* and clicks on the play button. And according to this number he/she gets a message about how close or far the wanted number is away from the *bet_number*.

But I find it a little disgusting to click a button. Instead I want to use **Enter key** to play. So to achieve this, it comes down to specifically two questions:

1. How could one change to using Enter to play (I mean I need know when `QLineEdit` detects enter key is pressed)? In this way I&#39;ll code properly to point the play method.

2. If the play button&#39;s got the focus, how do you use enter key on this button? (make Button accept Enter key)

Also, I am getting the vibe that triggering keypress with special characters does not work at all. Can someone verify who has done this? 

Definitive way to trigger keypress events with jQuery

I want to detect when a user&#39;s keyboard actions alter the value of a text field. It should work consistently across modern browsers.

The JQuery page for the .keypress event says it&#39;s not consistent? Also, it doesn&#39;t work for backspace, delete etc.

I can&#39;t use .keydown as it is because it reacts to shift, alt and arrow keys etc. Also, it doesn&#39;t fire more than once when the user holds down a key and multiple characters are inserted.

Is there a concise method I&#39;m missing? Or should I use .keydown and filter out events that are triggered by arrow keys, shift and so on? My main concern is there will be keys that I&#39;m not aware should be filtered. (I nearly forgot about alt and ctrl, I suppose there could be others) But then how would I detect the key being held down and inserting multiple characters?

As a bonus it would detect changes due to pasting (including right-clicking) but I have the solution to that from [here][1].

jQuery Event Keypress: Which key was pressed?

I am making a stopwatch type program in Python and I would like to know how to detect if a key is pressed (such as &lt;kbd&gt;p&lt;/kbd&gt; for pause and &lt;kbd&gt;s&lt;/kbd&gt; for stop), and I would not like it to be something like `raw_input`, which waits for the user&#39;s input before continuing execution.

When using the example code from the jQuery documentation for the keypress event handler, I&#39;m unable to capture the &lt;kbd&gt;Delete&lt;/kbd&gt; key. The snippet below is going to log `0` when the &lt;kbd&gt;Delete&lt;/kbd&gt; key is pressed in FireFox:

Seems there&#39;s gotta be a way to capture the &lt;kbd&gt;Delete&lt;/kbd&gt; key, but it&#39;s an ambiguous term so Google isn&#39;t proving to be much help with it.

I want to trigger an event just after I stop typing (not while typing) characters in my input textbox.

I&#39;ve tried with:

How to trigger an event in input text after I stop typing/writing?

I want to detect whenever a textbox&#39;s content has changed. I can use the keyup method, but that will also detect keystrokes which do not generate letters, like the arrow keys. I thought of two methods of doing this using the keyup event:

 1. Check explictly if the ascii code of the pressed key is a letter\backspace\delete
 2. Use closures to remember what was the text in the textbox before the key stroke and check whether this has changed.

Both look kinda cumbersome.

Submit form on pressing Enter with AngularJS

I&#39;m trying to implement key-press functionality which will remove a div when the user hits `Esc`. This works for Firefox &amp; IE with the following code:
