Now, the first grey ring is generated fine. The blue ring however starts from the left of the drawable and goes to the right just like how a linear progressbar works. This is how it shows at 50% progress with the red color arrow showing direction.

When uninstalling an android application, or do some configuration, there will show such a horizontal progress bar, like following picture:

So my question is why the real height of the progressbar is not the one I set? How to increase the height of the progressbar?

I want to create an Action Bar just like this. Just under the Action Bar, there&#39;s a ProgressBar that fills according to page load. I&#39;ve seen this example from many apps, like Feedly, but I haven&#39;t been able to create my own implementation.  I tried using Android&#39;s own APIs to create it:

How to implement a material design circular progress bar in android

I am using a [`RecyclerView`](http://developer.android.com/reference/android/support/v7/widget/RecyclerView.html) and fetching objects from an API in batches of ten. For pagination, I use [`EndlessRecyclerOnScrollListener`](https://gist.github.com/ssinss/e06f12ef66c51252563e).

It&#39;s all working properly. Now all that&#39;s left is to add a progress spinner at the bottom of the list while the next batch of objects is fetched by the API. Here is a screenshot of the Google Play Store app, showing a `ProgressBar` in what is surely a `RecyclerView`:

The problem is, neither the `RecyclerView` nor the `EndlessRecyclerOnScrollListener` have built-in support for showing a `ProgressBar` at the bottom while the next batch of objects is being fetched.

I have already seen the following answers:

**1.** [**Put an indeterminate `ProgressBar` as footer in a `RecyclerView` grid**](https://stackoverflow.com/a/28090719/3287204).

**2.** [**Adding items to Endless Scroll `RecyclerView` with `ProgressBar` at bottom**](https://stackoverflow.com/a/30691092/3287204).

I am not satisfied with those answers (both by the same person). This involves shoehorning a `null`  object into the data-set midway while the user is scrolling and then taking it out after the next batch is delivered. It looks like a hack that sidesteps the main problem which may or may not work properly. And it causes a bit of jarring and distortion in the list

Using [`SwipeRefreshLayout`](http://developer.android.com/intl/ja/reference/android/support/v4/widget/SwipeRefreshLayout.html) is not a solution here. `SwipeRefreshLayout` involves pulling from the top to fetch the *newest* items, and it does not show a progress view anyway.

Can someone please provide a good solution for this? I am interested in knowing how Google has implemented this for their own apps (the Gmail app has it too). Are there any articles where this is shown in detail? All answers &amp; comments will be appreciated. Thank you.

I was going through developer site of android and I found a class named **[ContentLoadingProgressBar][1]**. By seeing this class I come up with some questions in my mind. It would be great if someone answers my questions.

 1. What is the difference between Normal `ProgressBar` and `ContentLoadingProgressbar`?
 2. What is the practical usage of ContentLoadingProgressBar?
 3. Can we show/hide this progressbar according to our requirement?
 
 5. How can I custom style this progressBar?

Add a Progress Bar in WebView

I have some difficulties finding the correct way to specify that a progress bar should have the small indefinite style. 

I would be glad if somebody could provide an example for me and others that do a quick search for this information.

How can I change the style of a ProgressBar to small?

In my application, I have a `WebView` which loads any URL from the internet. Now, sometimes due to slow networks the page takes a long time to load and the user sees only a blank screen.

I want to show a `ProgressBar` while the `WebView` gets loaded and hide the `ProgessBar` when the `WebView` gets loaded completely.

I know how to use the `ProgressBar` and `AsyncTask`s, but here is my problem.

This is the code that I use to load my `WebView`.

		mWebView.getSettings().setJavaScriptEnabled(true);
		mWebView.setWebViewClient(new HelloWebViewClient());

Now, if I try to **show the `ProgressBar` using `AsyncTask`s** then I guess I would have to give the code to load the URL in the `doInBackGround()` function of my `AsyncTask` and show the progress through the `onProgressUpdate()` function.

But, how do I load the URL inside the doInBackground() as **doInBackground()** runs on the **Non-UI thread** and I wont be able to use `mWebView.loadUrl(web_URL)` inside it.

Any suggestions? Am I missing something obvious? Please guide me.

ProgressDialog spinning circle

My applications UI is built using the Android Support Library, but there is currently no AppCompat version of the (intederminate) progressbar, which my app really needs.

I would prefer to not use any third party libraries to achieve material design progressbars, so I&#39;m wondering if anyone sits on information about why it&#39;s not included in the support library, and if there is any sign of it arriving (and when).
