I am trying to send information from notification to invoked activity, while from my activity I got null.

The code for notification is:

I have verified before the notification get notified, bundle is not null, and it has id in extras.
While, when I tried to fetch it from intent, it&#39;s gone. Help.

Android Notification PendingIntent Extras null

I am trying to put an extra message in my intent to pass to AlarmManager to be triggered at a later time. My onReceive triggers correctly but extras.getString() returns null

Setup:

Android cannot pass intent extras though AlarmManager

I&#39;m using an `AlarmManager` to trigger an intent that broadcasts a signal. The following is my code:

    ERROR/AndroidRuntime(7557): java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to start receiver com.wcc.Wakeup: android.util.AndroidRuntimeException: Calling startActivity() from outside of an Activity  context requires the FLAG_ACTIVITY_NEW_TASK flag. Is this really what you want?

i am creating a notification inside a BroadcastReceiver via this code:

When I click on the notification, it opens the NotificationActivity and inside the Activity i can retrieve the foo_id from the Intent-Bundle (e.g. 1)

However if another notification is triggered and i click on it again, the activity still receives the &quot;old&quot; value (1) from the Intent-Bundle. I&#39;ve tried to clear the bundle with clear(), but am receiving the same effect. I think sth is wrong with my code..

Notification passes old Intent Extras

My `MainActicity`  starts `RefreshService` with a `Intent` which has a `boolean` extra called `isNextWeek`.

My `RefreshService` makes a `Notification` which starts my `MainActivity` when the user clicks on it.

this looks like this:

As you can see the `notificationIntent` should have the `boolean`extra `IS_NEXT_WEEK` with the value of `isNextWeek` which is put in the `PendingIntent`.

When I click now this `Notification` I always get `false` as value of `isNextWeek`

This is the way I get the value in the `MainActivity`:

everything works fine and I get `true` when `isNextWeek` is `true`.

What do I make wrong that there is always a `false` value?

PendingIntent does not send Intent extras

My app has notifications, which - obviously - without any flags, start a new activity every time so I get multiple same activities running on top of each other, which is just wrong.

What I want it to do is to bring the activity specified in the notifications pending intent, to the front if it is already running, otherwise start it.

So far, the intent/pending intent for that notification I have is

and weirdly, it sometimes works, sometimes it doesn&#39;t... I feel like I&#39;ve already tried every single combination of flags.

**Background:**

I&#39;m using PendingIntent for alarms via AlarmManager.

**The problem:**

At first I thought that in order to cancel previous ones, I must provide the exact requestCode that I&#39;ve used before to start the alarm.

But then I&#39;ve found out I was wrong, as the [**cancellation API**][1] says:

What is an Android PendingIntent?

This function will be called multiple times.  I would like for each `notification` to launch testActivity when clicked.  Unfortunately, only the first notification launches testActivity.  Clicking on the rest cause the notification window to minimize.

Extra information:  Function `displayNotification()` is in a class called `UploadManager`.  `Context` is passed into `UploadManager` from the `activity` that instantiates. Function `displayNotification()` is called multiple times from a function, also in UploadManager, that is running in an `AsyncTask`.

Edit 1: I forgot to mention that I am passing String response into `Intent intent` as an `extra`.

I know why this is from reading the documentation on `FLAG_UPDATE_CURRENT`.  However, I am not sure how to work around it at the moment.

PendingIntent works correctly for the first notification but incorrectly for the rest

Anybody have idea how can we remove notification from application programmatically which is called using Pending intent.

I have used to cancel notification using following method.

    AlarmManager am=(AlarmManager)getSystemService(Context.ALARM_SERVICE);

	PendingIntent pi = PendingIntent.getBroadcast(Display.this, AlarmNumber, intent, PendingIntent.FLAG_CANCEL_CURRENT);

But problem is notification which fired already that are not removed from notification bar.

I there a way to get a list of the active `PendingIntent`s in a device?

I am starting to work with `AlarmManager` and I like to see if my `PendingIntent`s are created and removed correctly.

It would also be nice to see what other `PendingIntent`s are there, just as a curiosity to see if some app is doing some &quot;extra work&quot;.
