It&#39;s possible to send data from the parent to a child through @Input, or to call a method on the parent from the child with @Output, but I&#39;d like to do exactly the other way around, which is calling a method on the child from the parent. Basically something like that:

When installed, you are asked for a username and password for your account. 
This creates a user level.

Is it possible to access to root user, SU?

Every time I try, it asks for a password, and none of the accounts on the PC work (i.e., Windows 10 admin account password does not work). Tried default passwords too etc., all fail. 

The reason for it is when looking at the users home directory: When creating a file, it creates it under my Windows User Account (Permissions).

But when I view files created from Bash, they are created for Root user.

So this is the confusion, I modified `bashrc` and it&#39;s no longer owned by root, So it&#39;s not accessible. 

But I cannot login to root to create or modify the files. 

Am I being a complete noob or something?

I have been running VMware for the last year no problems, today I opened it up to start one of my VM and get an error message, see screen shot.

I did follow the link and went through the steps, on step 4 I need to mount a volume using &quot;mountvol&quot;. 
when I try to mount a volume using `mountvol X: \\?\Volume{5593b5bd-0000-0000-0000-c0f373000000}\` it keeps saying `The directory is not empty.` I even created a partition with 2GB and still the same message.

**My Questions:**

How can I mount the volume that is not empty even though it is? 

Why did this Device/Credential Guard auto enable itself and how can I get rid of it or disable it.

Tensorflow crashes with CUBLAS_STATUS_ALLOC_FAILED

I&#39;ve just upgraded the Windows 10 in my laptop to Redstone 1. So I had a test of the Linux subsystem (aka. WSL, LXSS or Bash on Windows). Basically, everything is fine, but there is a problem that the RootFS of WSL is located in the `%LocalAppData%` path (e.g. `C:\Users\xyz\AppData\Local`), which is also the place where my Windows OS located. It consumes a lot of the SSD hard drive space in my laptop and I hope I can move it to my external hard drive. 

There is an another problem. Since the other hard drive partitions are mounted as DriveFS, it does not support some Linux filesystem features like `chmod`, and some of my Linux project build scripts only works in VoIFS, which only located in `/` and `/home`.

So I tried to move the whole WSL RootFS to another hard drive. Firstly I&#39;ve tried to make a NTFS Junction (hard link) for `C:\Users\xyz\AppData\Local\lxss`. I&#39;ve uninstalled the WSL completely and run `mklink` for the RootFS to another hard drive, and when I reinstall the WSL again, **it couldn&#39;t create the new user, and it reports error with code 0x80070003.**

Then I searched around, and I got this: [moving Linux filesystem - issue #449][1]. **It seems that moving and making hard link for WSL RootFS only works before Windows 10 Build 14388, it does not work in the Windows 10 Build 14393 RTM.** The only way is moving the whole `%LocalAppData%` to the external hard drive, but I cannot do that since I&#39;m a laptop user and I can&#39;t bring an external hard drive everywhere!

So I would like to ask that, is there any other ways to move WSL out of my system partition? If I can&#39;t do that, **can I create an extra VoIFS work directory in some other places and compile my stuff?**

Move WSL (Bash on Windows) root filesystem to another hard drive?

Along with *Windows 10 Anniversary update* for summer 2016, came the possibility to run *ubuntu* binaries inside the new [Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL)](https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/wsl/2016/04/22/windows-subsystem-for-linux-overview/), a &quot;lightweight&quot; virtualized subsystem.

Unfortunately, launching `C:\Windows\System32\bash.exe`, another `bash` ELF binary starts a process inside the WSL, from where you cannot escape!  You may launch only other ELF binaries.

So how can I execute `*.exe` files from Windows Bash?[1]

How can I run a Windows executable from WSL (Ubuntu) Bash

I have bash installed on my W10 laptop, but one thing that is very frustrating is I can not scroll up. 

Does anyone know of a way to enable scrolling with the mouse wheel? I could not find anything after many google searches.

Context: If I compile some C++ files and get a lot of errors, I can not scroll up to see all those errors.

I have enabled developer mode and installed `Bash on Ubuntu on Windows`.

My home directory can be found under `%localappdata%\Lxss\home\&lt;ubuntu.username&gt;\`, i have created a sub-directory called Pictures such that the full path should be

on windows: `C:\Users\&lt;windows.username&gt;\AppData\Local\lxss\home\&lt;ubuntu.username&gt;\Pictures`

on bash: `/home/&lt;ubuntu.username&gt;/Pictures`

if i create a file from bash using the command `touch hello.txt` i can freely see this file in the windows UI and copy it to my Desktop. However, if i create a new text file from the windows UI and save it in `C:\Users\&lt;windows.username&gt;\AppData\Local\lxss\home\&lt;ubuntu.username&gt;\Pictures`, even if i restart bash or windows, the file is not visible when i do `ls -l`.

Why can&#39;t bash see files created from the Windows side in it&#39;s own home directory?

**EDIT** Using `/mnt/c` is not a solution, i am trying to understand **why** it doesn&#39;t see those files and if there is a remedy to that so that it will be able to see UI created files, rather than trying to use the terminal to copy-paste or move files over.
