The purpose of that target is to build for iOS devices, even if your phone is not plugged in. You can compile for iOS (armv7, armv8, arm64) architectures and see if there are any errors upon compilation, as these errors may be different than when you build for iPhone Simulator (i386 architecture).

This allows you to build (&lt;kbd&gt;⌘&lt;/kbd&gt;+&lt;kbd&gt;B&lt;/kbd&gt;) for iOS architectures, but you will not be able to run your executable on this target, as there is nothing to run the program on.

Also super-useful now: the Generic iOS Device allows you to Archive without having a device plugged in, so you can package the app and upload to iTunes Connect without needing a device!

So there are plenty of tutorials on how to convert a `PEM` to a `PPK` using `puttyGen`. However my issue is that my windows machine had the only `PEM` copy and I converted it into a `PPK` and deleted it. Now I need to figure out how to convert a `PPK` into a `PEM` so that my mac can `ssh` into the server. I still have access to the server so I could also just make a new key if I had to, anyone know how to convert `PPK` to `PEM`?

I have a Swift struct like this.

I have entries in here ranging back to a large number of iOS versions (many GB are for old iOS 8 versions and there are many iOS 6 and 7 versions as well). 

I don&#39;t expect to care about building apps in Xcode to support these iOS versions any more (maybe I will care about iOS 8.4 for a few more months), I might build an app for some of the older iOS versions on a whim, but certainly am happy to give up the ability to do so if I can reclaim 10 or so GB of my disk.

Does anyone know how safe it is to remove these directories? What of value can possibly be contained within them?

I have a pretty straight-forward range input slider.  It works pretty well on all browsers except on iOS Safari.  

The main problem I have is when I click on the slider track, it doesn&#39;t move the slider.  It merely highlights the slider.  It works fine when dragging the thumb.  Any ideas on how to fix this?

I am using `xcode 7.1` and trying to upload my app to the app store directly through xcode. While uploading I am getting a weird error:-

Note:- I recently made changes in the accounts (xcode preference section). Is this related to my error?

I also restart the xcode but issue still there?

I have a project named `XXX`. I want to rename this project to `YYY`.

Note that `XXX` is an extremely common term (for e.g. &quot;data&quot;, or simply &quot;project&quot;), and thus a simple RegEx search-and-replace is not possible, out of risk of corrupting the project configuration files.

My current project directory contains the following items:

 - `XXX`
 - `XXXTests`
 - `XXX.xcodeproj`

and I want to rename them to:

 - `YYY`
 - `YYYTests`
 - `YYY.xcodeproj`

... respectively, with the necessary changes being reflected in my project file.

How can I accomplish this without having to manually create and populate a new project?




How do I completely rename an Xcode project (i.e. inclusive of folders)?

I am taking screenshots from my iOS Simulator and trying to put them into iTunes Connect but it continues to tell me that I have the wrong size. They are the same size with the pictures that are already in iTunes Connect. What just happened?

I am deleting some folders and files to make more space on my drive. I know that in path:

    ~/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Devices/

There are folders for each simulator and each version. This folder has around 11GB size for me. I know that I could delete simulators with old versions that I no longer use. But from that unique identifier I can&#39;t know which is the right one and which not. So my question is: Can I delete it all? It&#39;s okay if next time I wouldn&#39;t have any of my app in simulator but  can I loose something more? Old versions of simulator? Or anything else? Thanks

Xcode - free to clear devices folder?

I&#39;m building an app and I need to use an input text.

The problem comes when you tap on this input text, the keyboard doesn&#39;t appear.

I don&#39;t know why, I don&#39;t know what I&#39;m doing wrong. It is supposed to be straightforward.

Here is some of my code:

Archive button grayed out in Xcode

The situation goes a little something like this:

1. I am programming Xcode whilst concurrently listening to music on my Bluetooth headphones... you know to block out the world.

2. Then, I go to launch my app in the iOS simulator and BOOM all of a sudden my crystal clear music becomes garbled and super low quality like it is playing in a bathtub 2 blocks away... in the 1940s. 

3. Note: the quality deterioration does NOT occur if I am playing music on my laptop or cinema display and I launch the sim. It seems to be exclusively a Sim -&gt; Bluetooth issue. 

The problem is more than just annoying. Because often after stopping the simulator the crappy bathtub quality music continues. To fix it I have to open sound preferences in OSX and briefly toggle back to my laptop sound and then back to my Bluetooth headphones. 

This is a big deal because I launch the simulator 50x a day and have to do this toggle thing every time as well as suffer listening to 40s era mono ham radio quality music. 

For your information, the headphones I am using are Plantronics BackBeat Pro and I am up to date on firmware. I am on OSX 10.11.4 and Xcode 7.3... but this problem has persisted through all versions for 2+ years now. Can you save me from the 1940s?
