When I initialize two variables (`displayText` and `state`) in the constructor, do the other two variables (`meaningfulText` and `url`) require space in the memory to store `null` value?

Q1. If they do require space, how much memory does a `null` value take in the memory? 
(ex. `int` takes 4 bytes).

Occasionally , we have to write methods that receive many many arguments , for example :

When I encounter this kind of problem , I often encapsulate arguments into a map.

This is not a good practice , encapsulate params into a map is totally a waste of efficiency.
The good thing is , the clean signature , easy to add other params with fewest modification .

Difference of Maven JAXB plugins

I have a few really long strings in one class for initializing user information. When I compile in Eclipse, I don&#39;t get any errors or warnings, and the resulting .jar runs fine.

Recently, I decided to create an ant build file to use. Whenever I compile the same class with ant, I get the &quot;constant string too long&quot; compile error. I&#39;ve tried a number of ways to set the java compiler executable in ant to make sure that I&#39;m using the exact same version as in Eclipse.

I&#39;d rather figure out how to get the same successful compile I get in Eclipse in Ant than try to rework the code to dynamically concatenate the strings.

I am currently working on a new open source project which I store on github. I would like to extend my existing ANT build file to allow me to create numbered builds. I am imagining that I would launch the build with something like &quot;ant buildnum -Dnum=12&quot;.

When I try to make a simple module in IntelliJ it responds with:

I added a resources folder under my project root.
I added a log4j.properties file in that folder.
I changed the code to log something.

What is the right way to tell IntelliJ to include the resources folder in the classpath so the properties file is seen?

What I am trying to do is to add some extra flags for debug compilation:

So if I invoke *test* target I would like to clean up my environment, add some new flags (like *-DTEST* to the existing ones), compile the whole code once again (first sources, then test modules). 

I do not want to copy/paste the code for compiling with some new flags set since there is a lot of logic put here and there.

Is there some easy way to redefine the variable value so I can reuse the existing code?

I&#39;ve separated a project into two builds and given each of them a `plist` file. Everything works fine, but I keep getting this build warning:

&gt; Info.plist file &#39;MyApp-Info.plist&#39;

I get this when I try to build `MyApp`. Building for the second target gives the same error (with `SecondTarget-Info.plist` in the warning). I&#39;m not sure why it&#39;s a warning, since I _want_ the build to contain that `.plist` file. Each of the `.plist` files have one target membership (for their own build).

What does this warning mean? Is there any way to make it go away?

I currently have an Android project in Eclipse.

I created it with a target build of 1.5 (sdk 3).

Now I want to change it so that it has a minSdk of 3 and targetSdk of 8.

To do this I see that I must build against the newest SDK (2.2)

To do this in Eclipse I right click on my project, go to properties, click on Android and change the project build target to Android 2.2 and click apply and then ok.

However this appears to have no affect and when I try it again the target build is set back at Android 1.5.

Am I missing a step or something?
