I made a POST request to a HTTP (non-HTTPS) site, inspected the request in Chrome&#39;s Developer Tools, and found that it added its own header before sending it to the server:

    Upgrade-Insecure-Requests: 1

After doing a search on `Upgrade-Insecure-Requests`, I can only find [information][1] about the server sending [this][2] header:

    Content-Security-Policy: upgrade-insecure-requests

This seems related, but still very different since in my case, the CLIENT is sending the header in the *Request*, whereas all the information I&#39;ve found is concerning the SERVER sending the related header in a *Response*.

So why is Chrome (44.0.2403.130 m) adding `Upgrade-Insecure-Requests` to my request and what does it do?

This header has since been added as a [W3C Candidate Recommendation][3] and is now officially recognized.

For those who just came across this question and are confused, the [excellent answer][4] by Simon East explains it well.

The `Upgrade-Insecure-Requests: 1` header used to be `HTTPS: 1` [in the previous W3C Working Draft][5] and was renamed ***quietly*** by Chrome before the change became officially accepted.

(This question was asked during this transition when there were no official documentation on this header and Chrome was the only browser that sent this header.)

Is there a command/subcommand that can be passed to the `aws` utility that can 1) verify that the credentials in the `~/.aws/credentials` file are valid, and 2) give some indication which user the credentials belong to? I&#39;m looking for something generic that doesn&#39;t make any assumptions about the user having permissions to IAM or any specific service.

The use case for this is a deploy-time sanity check to make sure that the credentials are good. Ideally there would be some way to check the return value and abort the deploy if there are invalid credentials.

In general the problem is with amount of references that needs to be injected. It will be even worse when there are more cars.

First approach that comes to my mind is to inject Car1 and Car2 in factory constructor but it is against factory approach because factory will return always the same object. The second approach is to inject servicelocator but it&#39;s antipattern everywhere. How to solve it?

Factory method with DI and IoC

Similar to [this][1] old question about prior ASP.NET versions, I want to get the request body of an HTTP POST to be bound to a string. It seems that the method binds, but that `value` is null, when ASP.NET invokes my controller method:

Do I still have to go grab the body from a stream? Or should this just work?  When testing the above method, I used the following http headers:

    Content-Type: Application/json;charset=UTF-8

I&#39;m passing in the following in the body:  `{ &quot;a&quot;: 1 }`

I do NOT want to bind to a string variable named a. I want to bind any JSON I get, and then I want to use the JSON content, any arbitrary content at all, from within my method.

If I understood the documentation, the `[FromBody]` attribute should have done what I wanted, but I&#39;m guessing that the ASP.NET core MVC binding mechanism won&#39;t bind a json to a &quot;string value&quot;, but perhaps I could do something else that gets me an equivalent level of flexibility.  

A similar question [here][2] gives me the idea maybe I should have written `[FromBody] dynamic data` instead of using `[FromBody] string value`.

Update: This kind of trick should be thought about before doing it, because if you wanted to have the .net core framework handle JSON and XML encoding for you, you just killed that capability.  Certain types of REST servers can and often do have requirements to support both XML and JSON content-types, at least ones I have encountered which have standards documents.

ASP.NET Core MVC : How to get raw JSON bound to a string without a type?

After I have migrated my project from VS2013 to VS2015 the project no longer builds.  A compilation error occurs in the following LINQ statement:

The compiler returns an error:

What causes this issue?  Is it possible to fix it through a compiler setting?

Roslyn failed to compile code

I was writing a unit test on a piece of code that returned JSON. The type that it returns is an anonymous type, so I thought to verify the values on it I&#39;d just cast the object to a `dynamic` to do my assertions.

However, when I do that, my build fails but I don&#39;t have any error messages. I was able to reproduce this with very simple code in a new Unit Test Project:

        var obj = new { someValue = true };

        dynamic asDynamic = obj;

        Assert.IsTrue(asDynamic.someValue);
    }

The build succeeds when I comment out the assertion though:

In contrast, I ran the following code in LinqPad 5 beta (which uses the Roslyn compiler) and had no issues:

    var obj = new { someValue = true };
    dynamic asDynamic = obj;
    Console.WriteLine((asDynamic.someValue == true).ToString());

What&#39;s going on here? Since the error isn&#39;t showing I can&#39;t tell if I&#39;m using `dynamic` incorrectly, or if it can&#39;t find the overload to use for `IsTrue()` because of the `dynamic`, or if this is a bug in the compiler (though I highly doubt this, I don&#39;t have any evidence that there&#39;s something wrong with my code).

Regarding the overload issue, I tried `Assert.IsTrue((bool)asDynamic.someValue);` but the build still fails, still no error message.

Per @RonBeyer&#39;s comment, I had also tried more casting such as below to no avail:

        dynamic asDynamic = (dynamic)obj;
        Assert.IsTrue(((dynamic)asDynamic).someValue);

        Assert.IsTrue((bool)asDynamic.somevalue);

Upon closer inspection, I found that there was an error listed in the Output window:

VS2015 build fails with no error message with Dynamic

My project builds all fail but I&#39;m not shown any errors. I tried cleaning and rebuilding, that didn&#39;t work. 

I changed the MSBuild output verbosity to &#39;Diagnostic&#39; hoping it would help me identify the problem and now I&#39;m stuck. Here&#39;s what the output looks like:

Visual Studio 2015 project builds failed but no errors

We are currently evaluating the new Visual Studio 2015 and encountered a strange problem with IntelliSense. When I compiled our main solution with the new studio the build succeeds, but nevertheless 6 errors are shown. 

I discovered that it&#39;s not a real error, but only an intellisense error. The code is definitely correct and everything compiled successfully. The code however is marked red and errors show up in the error list.

All 6 errors have the same origin. It&#39;s a simple constructor call. Strange enough, but there are also some occurrences of the exact same constructor without any errors.

The error message:
    
    Code: CS1729
    Message: &#39;&lt;the class&gt;&#39; does not contain a constructor that takes that many arguments.
    Project: &lt;the project name&gt;
    File: &lt;the path to the file&gt;

The new studio was installed on a freshly installed Windows 7 without any legacy software (no VS13).

I&#39;ve already tried to clear the caches, deleted the suo file, deleted bin and obj directories, cleaned and rebuilt the solution etc. But nothing worked.

Can anyone explain that behavior to me?

The way I got this to show was by enabling *&quot;Just My Code&quot;* and warn if there isn&#39;t any user code on launch. This is something that recently happened to our project, and I&#39;m not sure what we did to cause this. But I&#39;ve been unable to fix it. Breakpoints won&#39;t fire and quick watch gives weird results.

I&#39;ve tried googling the issue, but none of the standard &quot;break points won&#39;t fire&quot; solutions have worked. I&#39;m all out of ideas.

I&#39;ve checked the configuration manager and every project is also set to Debug there as well.

I turned off &quot;Enable Optimaizations&quot;, and I no longer get the &quot;you are debugging a Release build&quot; dialog. It runs and stops on breakpoints again! However the output window displays this at start up:

&gt; Symbols for the module &#39;Navigo.exe&#39; were not loaded.
&gt;
&gt; 1. Use a debug build configuration or disable the debug option &#39;Enable Just My Code&#39;.
&gt; 2. Check the &#39;Symbols&#39; settings under debugging options.

So this solves my *primary* problem of no longer being able to use breakpoints and the popup. Which is odd since I thought you needed symbols to be loaded for breakpoints to work. So how can the breakpoints work if the symbols aren&#39;t loaded? Maybe it&#39;s just a bad message?

After that, I have created a new branch called develop on Visual Studio online, and I have tried to check it out creating a new local branch but it doesn&#39;t appear on Team Explorer.
