Notepad++ provides 2 types of features:

 - Auto-completion that read the open file and provide suggestion of words and/or functions within the file
 - Suggestion with the arguments of functions (specific to the language)

Based on what you write, it seems what you want is auto-completion on function only + suggestion on arguments.

To do that, you just need to change a setting.

 1. Go to `Settings` &gt; `Preferences...` &gt; `Auto-completion`
 2. Check `Enable Auto-completion on each input`
 3. Select `Function completion` and not `Word completion`
 4. Check `Function parameter hint on input` (if you have this option)

On version 6.5.5 of Notepad++, I have this setting

The answer is to **DISABLE** &quot;Enable auto-completion on each input&quot;. Tested and works perfectly.

I&#39;m getting this error when I try to upload using paperclip with my rails blogging app.
Not sure what it is referring to when it says &quot;MissingRequiredValidatorError&quot;
I thought that by updating post_params and giving it :image it would be fine, as both create and update use post_params

Paperclip::Errors::MissingRequiredValidatorError with Rails 4

The C++11 Standard (ISO/IEC 14882:2011) says in `&#167; C.1.1`:

    char* p = &quot;abc&quot;; // valid in C, invalid in C++

For the C++ it&#39;s OK as a pointer to a String Literal is harmful since any attempt to modify it leads to a crash. But why is it valid in C?

The C++11 says also:

    char* p = (char*)&quot;abc&quot;; // OK: cast added

Which means that if a cast is added to the first statement it becomes valid.

Why does the casting makes the second statement valid in C++ and how is it different from the first one? Isn&#39;t it still harmful? If it&#39;s the case, why did the standard said that it&#39;s OK?

I&#39;m currently running IntelliJ IDEA 13.1. While running IntelliJ 13 intellisense/autocomplete stopped working. I tried upgrading and it still doesn&#39;t work.

I can explicitly invoke code completion using `ctrl+space`. I looked in _Settings-&gt;Editor-&gt;Code Completion_ and nothing looks out of place. Is there somewhere else that turns this feature on/off?

I want to perform both exact word match and partial word/substring match. Elasticsearch: Find substring match

I am trying to import various libraries which I can&#39;t remember their exact name. Unfortunately **Xcode** 6 (using `swift`) isn&#39;t auto completing them like was done in **Xcode** 5 using objective-c. 

For instance:

    ALAssetsLibrary
    MPMediaPlayer

etc.

I am forced to Google the exact framework name and then go back and copy paste.

In general autocomplete is working very poorly. Am I doing something wrong in Xcode 6?

Should I set any flags in settings to get it to work?


Xcode 6 isn&#39;t autocompleting in Swift

Is it just me or Xcode 6 (6.0.1) with Swift seems to be **super slow** when you type your code, especially with autocompletion?

A normal Objective-C class, even if inside a Swift project, works almost the same as before, so it&#39;s Swift that kills it.

Does anyone else experience the same inconvenience? Do you have any idea of how to improve performance? 

- I tried to play with some settings but no luck.
- I&#39;ve also of course tried restarting Xcode and the computer with no luck.
- No other heavy
   apps are open.

I use a Mid 2009 Macbook Pro (2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) with 8GB RAM and SSD HD, which is not the newest thing at all, but still not a complete junk.

It is a shame as I was excited to start using Swift and it is now really unbearable.

I was working on a .js file this morning on Notepad++, as usual, when the program just crashed. So I ended it, and re-opened it to see that all my code lines in my .js file, had disappeared, and now all I have left is the file with a size of 0kb because there&#39;s nothing left in it. How the hell is that even possible ? It erased everything I typed and saved the file as if there&#39;s nothing in it. 

Do you know a way to get my code back ? Or did something like this ever happened to someone ? :/ I&#39;m kinda worried because there was a lot of work there and I don&#39;t feel like re-typing it all...

Lost code lines when Notepad++ crashed

Situation:

Open a text file in n++, make some modification, press ALT-F4 or Close program.
The N++ won&#39;t ask &quot;Do you want to save your changes&quot;. Instead it quits and text file on hdd remains unchanged.

But when I open the N++ again, the MODIFIED file is still in there. Red tab is indicating unsaved changes and I can save it by ctrl-s. I can also save it by closing the tab (n++ will ask).

I want to save the file automatically every time I close the n++. All of my other istallations does that but this. I could not find any settings in the n++ options. Any idea?
