I use navigation library and safeargs for passing data. I define argument to fragment like that.

Safeargs library doesnt generate direction class

If I wanted to specify a path to save files to and make directories that don’t exist in that path, is it possible to do this using the pathlib library in one line of code?

Google Play Store Internal Test cannot start roll out

I am going to start rolling out the first version of the application to the internal testers.
But the button <code>START ROLLOUT TO INTERNAL TEST</code> is disabled and I cannot see any other error messages or warnings here.
Can anyone let me know what's going?

I&#39;ve been following the docs from [Navigation Architecture Component][1] to understand how this new navigation system works. 

To go/back from one screen to another you need a component which implements `NavHost` interface.

&gt; The NavHost is an empty view whereupon destinations are swapped in and
&gt; out as a user navigates through your app.


But, it seems that currently only Fragments implement `NavHost` 

&gt; The Navigation Architecture Component’s default NavHost implementation is NavHostFragment.


So, my questions are:

* Even if I have a very simple screen which can be implemented with an `Activity`, in order to work with this new navigation system, a `Fragment` needs to be hosted containing the actual view?

* Will `Activity` implement `NavHost` interface in a near future?

Based on ianhanniballake&#39;s answer, I understand that every activity contains its own navigation graph. But if I want to go from one activity to another using the nav component (replacing &quot;old&quot; `startActivity` call), I can use `activity destinations`. What is `activity destinations` is not clear to me because the [docs for migration][2] don&#39;t go into any detail:

&gt; Separate Activities can then be linked by adding activity destinations to the navigation graph, replacing existing usages of startActivity() throughout the code base.

* Is there any benefit on using `ActivityNavigator` instead of `startActivity`?

Is there any way I can catch the `onBackPressed` event from Android back button?

I&#39;ve tried the `WillPopScope` but my `onWillPop` function only triggered when I tap on the Material back arrow button

The code works, my problem was not in the pop of this screen, but on the previous screen, I use 2 MaterialApp widgets, and somehow it gave a weird behavior.

**Short question**:

What is the correct way to handle database + network on the Paging library from Architecture components, using an API that uses page + size to load a new page and the `BoundaryCallback` class?

**Research and explanation**

Currently the class [`BoundaryCallback`][1] used in the paging library for architecture components, receives as parameter the instance of an element in the list without actual context of where this element is at. It happens in `onItemAtFrontLoaded` and `onItemAtEndLoaded`.

My Api is supposed to receive the page and the size of the page to load the next chunk of data. Boundary callback, added as part of the paged list builder, is supposed to tell you when to load the next page of data based on prefetch distance and page size.

Since the Api needs the page number and the size of the page to provide, I don&#39;t see a way to send that to the Api just by receiving one of the elements from the list as offered in `onItemAtFrontLoaded` and `onItemAtEndLoaded`. Checking the google examples in [this link][2], they use the name of the last element to get the next one, but that doesn&#39;t fit an Api with page + size.

They also have another example with only network that uses [`PagedKeyedDatasource`][3], but there is no sample or clue on how to mix that with the database and the BoundaryCallback.

**Edit**:
Only solutions I have found so far is to store the last loaded page on the shared preferences, but that sounds like a dirty trick.

Paging library - Boundary callback for network + db with API taking page and size

I&#39;m encountering this error when I use Android Studio to build my app. The APK is compiled, but when I attempt to run the app on Android P emulator, it will crash and throw the following error. Please see more details in the attachments:

One more thing, it is happening only on Android 4 operating system, not on newer versions of Android. I have found that other apps are having the same problem of `Resource Not Found`, which was not existing before using Android&#39;s app bundle. Is there some problem in the library or code or it is because of the beta version of Android&#39;s app bundle?

Android App Bundle introduces Resource Not found crash in Android app

So I have used the default docker for testcafe which on docker hub is testcafe/testcafe and I have to run a few testcafe scripts.  

However, I need the screenshot that fires on error, to be uploaded to somewhere where I can look at it later after the docker image is done running.  

I am using the Imgur program which uses bash so I re-did a few things to make it sh compatible and everything works except I need curl.  I tried running 

    apk add curl

but I&#39;m getting the error 

    ERROR: Unable to lock database: Permission denied ERROR: Failed to open apk database: 

Now I no this means that I do not have permission to do this but can I get around this is there some way to become root (this is in bitbucket pipeline).  


I do NOT really want to create my own docker.

Also note all questions I have found relating to this are about installing while creating the docker, however, my question is how to do this after the docker is created.  thx (a fine answer would be another way to save the screen shot, but preferably not with ssh).

I&#39;m working on a Flutter app using Android Studio as my IDE. I&#39;m attempting to write tests and check the code coverage but I can&#39;t work out how to view the data in the IDE or any other application.  

By running `flutter test --coverage`, a coverage report seems to be generated into a file `/coverage/lcov.info`. That file looks something like this:

Any suggestions?

Instrumentation run failed due to &#39;Process crashed.&#39;

I have a few apps on the Google play store and use the number of total installs as part of my growth plan. 
However as of July 16, 2018 I can no longer see the &quot;Total Installs&quot; in my console. It only shows &quot;Active Installs&quot;.

Did Google just remove one of the most important numbers from the play store?

How else can I get this stat? Can I get it in another screen or maybe through an API call?

Is my app or its dependencies violating the Android Advertising Id policy?

App has over 20000 monthly active users.
It&#39;s been available on google play for months.
After I&#39;ve recently switched from distribution with .apk to distribution with .aab, I&#39;ve started receiving random crashes on crashlytics and google play store. No other significant changes were made in the build that introduced the crashes.

The crash happens on the very first screen of the app, while inflating xml layout. The xml layout in question is a simple splash screen that only contains one image view and one textview. The imageview is android.widget.ImageView, not compat version, and it displays png image, not a vector image. The image is present in all drawable folder variations: drawable, drawable-mdpi, ..., drawable-xxxhdpi.

The crash happens on all android versions, from 4.1.2 up to 9.0.

Aside from other devices, I&#39;ve also received crashes from Google Pixel and Nexus 5X, both non-rooted. I happen to own both devices. I&#39;ve tried installing my app on them from google play and from sideloading services such as pureapk, but I wasn&#39;t able to reproduce the crash.

The question is similar to https://stackoverflow.com/questions/50471888/android-app-bundle-introduces-resource-not-found-crash-in-android-app , but in that question, author was able to solve his problems by using vector drawable compat. This is not my case.

It appears that the entire resource folder is missing from the apk somehow, although testing this assumption is hard. I cannot reproduce the issue so I&#39;ll have o re-destribute the app and wait for a couple of days to see how the crash has changed, and I&#39;d rather not do testing on live users.

When this bug happens, it usually happens several times in the row for the same devices, which leads me to believe that users who get this bug cannot ever launch the app. Also, I know that some of the users who previously used the app cannot use it anymore.

So, to sum this up:  
1. Crash started to appear right after switching to android application bundle distribution on google play  
2. App crashes on its first attempt to recover drawable resource - a simple png image  
3. The crash is not android-version specific; it happens on both rooted and non-rooted devices  
4. If the user gets this bug, he&#39;s probably stuck forever

What is causing this crash? Is there a workaround?

**Update:** After reading the answer below I&#39;ve concluded that the only workaround is to detect sideload installation and then open activity without any drawable resources or styles with links to Google Play and official site with old-school apk file. The user can then re-download app from another source.

This is the code I use to detect if app was sideloaded (you might need to remove `nativeLibrariesPresent` part if there are no native libraries in your app):

You&#39;ll want to start alternative activity before you do anything inside your main activity:

InvalidInstallationActivity can use xml layout and it can use string resources if you don&#39;t split your aab by language (`language { enableSplit = false }`), but it cannot use any drawable resources.
