I am new with ```Express```. As ```Express 4.x``` has removed bundled middlewares.
Any middleware I want to use should be required. When I read the README with [express-session][1] and [cookie-session][2] on github, I feel it hard to understand the difference.

So I try to write simple code to figure it out. I run twice for each middleware.

I understand that `Type?` indicates that `Type` is nullable, but assuming `x`, `y`, and `z` are locals, what does `x?.y?.z` mean?

The repeating sections of the strings I&#39;m given can be quite long, and the strings themselves can be 500 or more characters, so looping through each character trying to build a pattern then checking the pattern vs the rest of the string seems awful slow. Multiply that by potentially hundreds of strings and I can&#39;t see any intuitive solution.

I&#39;ve looked into regexes a bit and they seem good for when you know what you&#39;re looking for, or at least the length of the pattern you&#39;re looking for. Unfortunately, I know neither.

How can I tell if a string is repeating itself and if it is, what the shortest repeating subsequence is?

I&#39;m playing around with pattern match and I found out, that it&#39;s not quite easy to pattern match parameters of a method against an empty map. I thought it would go something like this:

But it seems like the first function clause matches arbitrary maps:

I&#39;d like to know the distinction between the two. I am looking for a better glob pattern for usemin, i want to to find all `.js` files but exclude the `.spec.js` files. I have the following solution so far.

The solution i have at the moment requires me to keep adding file extensions to exclude them, else they get picked up, for example `.html` files.

I tried to make it only look for `.js` files and exclude the `.spec.js` from them but it does not seem to work.

But I still have an issue, the number of images in my project is huge and this task takes ages. I&#39;m looking for a way to run my task ONLY on modified files. If I had an image or modify it, `imagemin()` will only run on this image, and not on all.

Once again everything is working perfectly fine, but the run time is really long.

Any time there&#39;s an error in my CoffeeScript gulp watch stops - obviously not what I want.

Prevent errors from breaking / crashing gulp watch

I&#39;ve installed gulp both globally and locally using 

    npm install gulp

When try to run gulp i get 

`&#39;gulp&#39; is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.`

Running npm list gulp (or -g), I `gulp@3.7.0` with the location of either my global or local gulp installation.

I&#39;ve tried running `node gulpfile.js` pointed to my gulpfile, and it runs without error, and of course, it starts with `require(&#39;gulp&#39;)`. 

Any suggestions on getting gulp working on Windows(8.1)?

I currently have two tasks, that both compile sass files. I would still like to concat the two directories into separate files but it seems that it would be more maintainable if I could simply create a &#39;sass&#39; task that would be responsible for all of the sass compilation.

But now it appears that neither file is being compiled. Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong?

Gulpjs combine two tasks into a single task

I&#39;m trying to use Gulp to:

1. Take 3 specific javascript files, concatenate them, then save the result to a file (concat.js)
2. Take this concatenated file and uglify/minify it, then save the result to another file  (uglify.js)

I have the following code so far

        var gulp = require(&#39;gulp&#39;),
            gp_concat = require(&#39;gulp-concat&#39;),
            gp_uglify = require(&#39;gulp-uglify&#39;);
        
        gulp.task(&#39;js-fef&#39;, function(){
            return gulp.src([&#39;file1.js&#39;, &#39;file2.js&#39;, &#39;file3.js&#39;])
                .pipe(gp_concat(&#39;concat.js&#39;))
                .pipe(gp_uglify())
                .pipe(gulp.dest(&#39;js&#39;));
        });
    
        gulp.task(&#39;default&#39;, [&#39;js-fef&#39;], function(){});

However, the uglify operation doesn&#39;t seem to be working, or the file isn&#39;t generated for some reason.

What do I need to do to make this happen?
