I have a UITextView for text editing.  By default, it has a small margin around the text.  I want to increase that margin by a few pixels.

The contentInset property gives me margins, but it does not change the text &quot;wrap width&quot;.  The text is wrapped at the same width, and the extra &quot;margin&quot; just causes the view to scroll horizontally.

Is there a way to make a UITextView of a certain width display the text with a narrower &quot;wrap width&quot;?

I have a typeclass `MyClass`, and there is a function in it which produces a `String`.  I want to use this to imply an instance of `Show`, so that I can pass types implementing `MyClass` to `show`.  So far I have,

    class MyClass a where
        someFunc :: a -&gt; a
        myShow :: a -&gt; String 
    
    instance MyClass a =&gt; Show a where
        show a = myShow a

which gives the error `Constraint is no smaller than the instance head.`  I also tried,

    class MyClass a where
        someFunc :: a -&gt; a
        myShow :: a -&gt; String
    
    instance Show (MyClass a) where
        show a = myShow a

which gives the error, `Class `MyClass&#39; used as a type`.

How can I correctly express this relationship in Haskell?

I should add that I wish to follow this up with specific instances of `MyClass` that emit specific strings based on their type.  For example,

    instance MyClass Foo where

I can&#39;t work out how to autoplay a video using the [new embed code style for Youtube][1]. I tried adding &amp;autoplay=1 to the url, which worked with the old style, but it didn&#39;t work. How can I autoplay a video using the new embed code style for Youtube?

I have a set of video frames saved as images in a directory, and I&#39;m trying to encode these to a good quality video, however every setting and every format I try produces very noticeable artifacts.

The basic command is this:

    ffmpeg -r 25 -i %4d.png myvideo.mpg

and I&#39;ve tried the minrate and maxrate flags. Any of {mpg, avi, mov, flv} formats will do.

Any suggestions for settings? Final file size is not an issue.

Using ffmpeg to encode a high quality video

I&#39;ve created an HTML5 video player (very simple) that works perfectly on the iPad and the browser.

However, when I open it on the iPhone, I only get a play button which, when pressed, opens the native video player on a new window, on top of all my stuff.

That means I lose access to my custom controls and time tracking (written in Javascript), since the video is now running isolated.

Is there any way to override Apple&#39;s control of HTML5 video on the iphone and get it working like on the ipad?

I have a form where a user can add multiple select boxes for multiple cities. The problem is that each newly generated select box needs to have a unique id. Can this be done is JavaScript?

because I use this in other parts of my program where it is working as expected.

To call this function I need an `Activity`, but at the moment my layout is just a simple more or less static view in plain XML and I&#39;d prefer to leave it that way, to save me from the overhead of creating an `Activity` just to set some text.

Am I overlooking something obvious? Is it not possible at all? Any help or workarounds welcome!

Edit: Just tried some things and it seems that HTML formatting in xml has some restraints: 

- tags must be written lowercase 

- some tags which are mentioned [here][1]  do not work, e.g. `&lt;br/&gt;` (it&#39;s possible to use `\n` instead)
