If you don&#39;t have a company, leave your name, it doesn&#39;t matter as long as both bundle id in info.plist file and the one you&#39;ve submitted in iTunes Connect match.

In Bundle ID Suffix you should write full name of bundle ID.

Example: 

    Bundle ID suffix = thebestapp (NOT CORRECT!!!!)
    
    Bundle ID suffix = com.awesomeapps.thebestapp (CORRECT!!)

The reason for this is explained in the [Developer Portal](https://developer.apple.com/account/ios/identifier/bundle):

&gt; The App ID string contains two parts separated by a period (.) — an **App ID Prefix** (your Team ID by default, e.g. `ABCDE12345`), and an **App ID Suffix** (a Bundle ID search string, e.g. `com.mycompany.appname`). [emphasis added]

So in this case the suffix is the full string `com.awesomeapps.thebestapp `.

The bundle identifier is an ID for your application used by the system as a domain for which it can store settings and reference your application uniquely.

It is represented in reverse DNS notation and it is recommended that you use your company name and application name to create it.

An example bundle ID for an App called The Best App by a company called Awesome Apps would look like:

    com.awesomeapps.thebestapp

In this case the suffix is `thebestapp`.

This is the section from the [CLLocationManager][1] documentation describing the app behavior with [startMonitoringSignificantLocationChanges][2]:

So my understanding is that if your app terminates (and I assume if you don&#39;t call [stopMonitoringSignificantLocationChanges][3] from [applicationWillTerminate][4]) you will get woken up with a [UIApplicationLaunchOptionsLocationKey][5] parameter to [application:didFinishLaunchingWithOptions][6]. At that point you create your [CLLocationManager][7], call [startMonitoringSignificantLocationChanges][8] and do your background location processing for a [limited time][9].  So I am fine with this bit.

The previous paragraph only talks about what happens when the app is terminated, it doesn&#39;t suggest what you do when the application is suspended.  The documentation for [didFinishLaunchingWithOptions][10] says:

&gt; The application tracks location
&gt; updates in the background, was purged,
&gt; and has now been relaunched. In this
&gt; case, the dictionary contains a key
&gt; indicating that the application was
&gt; relaunched because of a new location
&gt; event.

Suggesting that you will only receive this call when your app is launched (because of a location change) after you have been terminated.

However the paragraph on the [Significant Change Service][11] in the [Location Awareness Programming Guide][12] has the following to say:

&gt; If you leave this service running and
&gt; your application is subsequently
&gt; suspended or terminated, the service
&gt; automatically wakes up your
&gt; application when new location data
&gt; arrives. At wake-up time, your
&gt; application is put into the background
&gt; and given a small amount of time to
&gt; process the location data. Because
&gt; your application is in the background,
&gt; it should do minimal work and avoid
&gt; any tasks (such as querying the
&gt; network) that might prevent it from
&gt; returning before the allocated time
&gt; expires. If it does not, your
&gt; application may be terminated.

This suggests you are woken up with location data if your app has been suspended, but fails to mention how you are woken up:

- Does the [UIApplicationDelegate][13] get a callback telling me that I am resuming from a suspended state into a background state?
- Does the location manager (that was freeze dried when the app was suspended) start receiving [locationManager:didUpdateToLocation:fromLocation][14] callbacks? 
- Do I just need to implement code in my [didUpdateToLocation][15] message which checks the application state and does minimal processing if in background mode? 

In the process of writing this up, I think I may have just answered my own question, but it would be great to have my understanding of this confirmed by someone more knowledgeable.

I&#39;m kinda new to Objective-C and iPhone development and I&#39;ve come across a problem when trying to center the text in a table cell.  I&#39;ve searched google but the solutions are for an old SDK bug that has been fixed and these don&#39;t work for me.

Some code:

The above doesn&#39;t center the text.

I have also tried the willDisplayCell method:

        cell.textLabel.textAlignment = UITextAlignmentCenter;

and I&#39;ve tried some of the old posted solutions:

None of these have any effect on the text alignment.  I have run out of idea&#39;s any help would be most appreciated.

Center Align text in UITableViewCell problem

I&#39;m looking to set the left inset/margin of a `UILabel` and can&#39;t find a method to do so. The label has a background set so just changing its origin won&#39;t do the trick. It would be ideal to inset the text by `10px` or so on the left hand side.

I have a php webpage that requires a login (userid &amp; password). I have the user enter the information into the app just fine.. but I need an example on how to do a POST request to a website. The apple example on the support site is rather complicated showing a picture upload.. mine should be simpler.. I just want to post 2 lines of text..

Is there a way using either iTunes connect or the API to check the total number of application sales for a particular app since release. I am just curious as ITC on the iPhone only seems to show 26 weeks when displaying totals, so it missed off the first 20+ weeks. (the app has been out for about 50 weeks).

I have a URL in an iPhone application to work with. But the problem is that it has some spaces in the URL. I want to replace the spaces with &#39;%20&#39;. I know that there are the `stringByReplacingOccurencesOfString` and `stringByAddingPercentEscapesUsingEncoding` methods. I also have used them. But they are not working for me. The spaces are replaced by some unusual values.

Multiple colours in an `NSString` or `NSMutableStrings` are not possible. So I&#39;ve heard a little about the [**`NSAttributedString`**][1] which was introduced with the **iPad SDK 3.2** (or around 3.2) and is available on the iPhone as of **iPhone SDK 4.0 beta**.

I would like to have a string that has three colours.

The reason I don&#39;t use 3 separate NSStrings, is because the length of each of the three `NSAttributedString` substrings changes often and so I would prefer, not to use any calculations to re-position 3 separate `NSString` objects.

If it&#39;s possible using `NSAttributedString` how do I make the following - (if not possible with NSAttributed string how would you do it):
