I am in the process of creating a Java app and would like to have a bar
on the bottom of the app, in which I display a text bar and a status (progress) bar.

Only I can&#39;t seem to find the control in NetBeans neither do I know the code to create in manually.

How can I create a bar in the bottom of a Java app, like a status bar?

In iOS 7 the `UIStatusBar` has been designed in a way that it merges with the view like this:

- It is cool, but it will somewhat mess up your view when you have something at the top part of your view, and it becomes overlapped with the status bar.

- Is there a simple solution (such as setting a property in info.plist) that can change the way it works [not overlapping] back to how it is in iOS6? 

- I know a more straightforward solution is to have `self.view.center.x` + 20 points for every single view controller, but changing them will screw other dimensions up (having a different `self.view.center.x` can cause problem to custom segues, etc.) and suddenly it turns into a tedious job that is best to be avoided. 

- I&#39;ll really be glad if someone can provide me an one-liner solution for this.

P.S. I know I can hide the status bar by doing things like having

    [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setStatusBarHidden:YES withAnimation:UIStatusBarAnimationNone];

In `didFinishLaunchingWithOptions` method, but that&#39;s a workaround, a shortcut avoiding the problem, so I don&#39;t consider that a real solution.

iOS 7 status bar back to iOS 6 default style in iPhone app?

I just upgraded my iPhone 5 iOS 7 to four beta version. Now when I run my app from Xcode 5 on this iPhone, status bar doesn’t hide, even though it should.

Not Working:

My application has a dark background, but in iOS 7 the status bar became transparent. So I can&#39;t see anything there, only the green battery indicator in the corner. How can I change the status bar text color to white like it is on the home screen?

Android Completely transparent Status Bar?

 In my iOS video app status bar is hidden in some view controllers. I have done this using following code.

    [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setStatusBarHidden:YES];

 - It works for iOS 5 and iOS 6 , but not in iOS 7.

 - I tried with this in particular view controller,

Eg:

    -(BOOL)prefersStatusBarHidden { return YES; }

It works well, but I cant show status bar again in the parent view controller.

I have problems with the translucent actionbar/navbar in the new _Android KitKat_ (4.4) and the `windowSoftInputMode=&quot;adjustResize&quot;`.

Normaly, changing the _InputMode_ to `adjustResize`, the app should resize itself when keyboard is shown, but here it won&#39;t! If I delete the lines for the transparent effect, the resize is working.

I&#39;m creating an application and I want the status bar hidden. When I test the app, the status bar is hidden whilst the splash screen is shown, but once the app is fully loaded, the status bar reappears.

I&#39;m using Xcode 5 and iOS 7, and have tried disabling the status bar programatically

          withAnimation:UIStatusBarAnimationFade];),

in the info.plist file, and using the attributes inspector on the .xib file. Nothing appears to work.

I know that are already some [stackoverflow][1] [questions][2] that say how to change the status bar for all view controllers. I am currently changing the color of status bar this way:
    
    if(IS_IOS7)

In the `application:DidFinishLaunching`

Additionally, I have changed the value of `UIViewControllerBasedStatusBarAppearance` in the plist to `NO`. However, in the splashscreen it stills shows the status bar text with the black color. 

Is it possible to change the color of the status bar text color **in the splash screen**?

In iOS 7, Phonegap applications will appear underneath the status bar. This can make it difficult to click on buttons/menus that have been placed at the top of the screen.

Is there someone who knows a way to fix this status bar issue on iOS 7 in a Phonegap application? 

I&#39;ve tried to offset the entire web page with CSS but it doesn&#39;t seem to work. 
Is there a way to like offset the entire UIWebView or just make the status bar behave like it did in iOS6?

I &#39;ve just created a simple iOS 7 app using the default Master Details template.

In the `MasterViewController.m`, `viewDidAppear` method, I logged for

    self.navigationController.navigationBar.frame.size.height

and received 44 and 20 accordingly. This seems weird, because from what I read, the Navigation Bar in iOS 7 should be 64 point height and start at 0 point, so that it sits underneath the Status bar. What I read are

What is the height of Navigation Bar in iOS 7?

What&#39;s the height of the status bar in Android? Is it always the same?

From my measurements it seems that it&#39;s 25dp, but I&#39;m not sure if it has the same height on all platforms.

(I want to know this to properly implement a fade transition from an activity that doesn&#39;t have status bar to one that does)

I&#39;m updating my app for iOS 7, and I&#39;m in the process of adjusting all my views to account for the new transparent status bar (my app will still use opaque navigation bars).

It was relatively easy to adjust for the status bar in every view, except one major problem I&#39;m having with a UISearchBar connected to a UISearchDisplayController in one of my view controllers.

The search bar seems to display normally, as shown below:

The problem is, as soon as I begin searching, the navigation bar disappears (as it should), but everything else also moves up to overlap the status bar:

This doesn&#39;t appear to be working as intended, since the darkening of the screen happens 20 pixels below the search bar, where the search bar should end.

Is there a built in solution for this in iOS 7? I&#39;d rather not have to manually adjust the frame for every view each time the user begins and ends searching.

In XCode 7.3.x ill changed the background Color for my StatusBar with:

    func setStatusBarBackgroundColor(color: UIColor) {

But it seems that this is not working anymore with Swift 3.0.

Ill tried with:

I need to resize some elements in relation to the height of the iPhone&#39;s Status Bar. I know that the status bar is usually 20 points high but this isn&#39;t the case when it&#39;s in tethering mode. It gets doubled to 40. What is the proper way to determine it&#39;s height? I&#39;ve tried 

    [[UIApplication sharedApplication] statusBarFrame]

but it gives me 20 x 480 in landscape which is correct but then it gives me 320 x 40 in portrait. Why isn&#39;t it giving me the opposite of that (40 x 320)?
