I&#39;m creating a Color Picker tool and for the HSL slider, I need to be able to convert RGB to HSL. When I searched SO for a way to do the conversion, I found this question [HSL to RGB color conversion][1].

While it provides a function to do conversion from RGB to HSL, I see no explanation to what&#39;s really going on in the calculation. To understand it better, I&#39;ve read the [HSL and HSV][2] on Wikipedia.

Later, I&#39;ve rewritten the function from the &quot;HSL to RGB color conversion&quot; using the calculations from the &quot;HSL and HSV&quot; page.

I&#39;m stuck at the calculation of hue if the R is the max value. See the calculation from the &quot;HSL and HSV&quot; page:

RGB to HSL conversion

I&#39;m trying to include in my XAML some classes which convert values.  However, I&#39;m getting the following error when I compile:

&gt; Undefined CLR namespace. The &#39;clr-namespace&#39; URI refers to a namespace &#39;View.Summary.Converters&#39; that is not included in the assembly.(View\View)

And the XAML it&#39;s erroring on:

Of course the `???`s in the code won&#39;t work :) The problem is that I want to create a `genderConverter` converter which will compare the given value, i.e. `personObject.Gender`, against the given `Person.GenderType` value provided in the parameter and return `true` if the values match. 

I don&#39;t know how to make the converter parameter pass `Person.GenderType.Female`, `Person.GenderType.Male` and `null`, for the first, second and third radio button, respectively.

I have just installed ffmpeg and I am trying to encode all my uploaded videos to .mp4 file. Most of the users currently upload .mov and I want to convert every video to .mp4.

I am running the command as follows:

I have a problem with a p:selectOneMenu, no matter what I do I cannot get JSF to call the setter on the JPA entity. JSF validation fails with this message:

I have this working on several other class of the same type (ie, join table classes) but cannot for the life of me get this one working.

If anyone can throw some troubleshooting/debugging tips for this sort of problem it would be greatly appreciated.

 2. I have no Bean Validation in my JPA entities.

I do not want to use PHP/Perl or anything like that since I&#39;m looking at processing several millions of lines, so I need something quick. I found a program on the Ubuntu repos called xls2csv but it will only convert xls (Office 2003) files (which I&#39;m currently using) but I need support for the newer Excel files.

Any ideas?
