When you compile your project in IntelliJ IDEA, it instruments the bytecode of compiled classes to add runtime checks for various flavors of `@Nonnull` annotations. This behavior is controlled by the option:

Settings | Build, Execution, Deployment | Compiler | [x] Add runtime assertions for not-null-annotated methods and parameters.

I am working on a project using Typescript and some of the ES6 features exposed by Typescript like ES6 String Literals e.g. `` `Something ${variable} Something else` ``.

Whilst debugging a problem I dropped a breakpoint into my typescript file to step through it in the source panel, which usually works fine.

But Chrome Dev Tools has an issue with ES6 String literals and doesn&#39;t seem to recognise the end of an ES6 String literal.

Instead all code following the string literal is marked red (string highlighting in debugger) and blocked from variable inspection as chrome debugger seems to think it is all one massive string.

Has someone encountered this issue, found a fix or knows whether this is on Google&#39;s roadmap for Chrome Dev Tools?

Chrome Dev Tools Issue With ES6 String Literals/Typescript

This might be a simple question, but I can not get it work.

I am using Slack Python Api to mention a user in a channel, and I am referring to the document here, https://api.slack.com/methods/chat.postMessage, and my code is simple as,

    from slackclient import SlackClient
    sc = SlackClient(token)
    message = sc.api_call(
      &#39;chat.postMessage&#39;,
      channel=&#39;#channelname&#39;,
      text=&#39;This is a test.&#39;
      )

This will send a message to the channel, but I can not find any option to mention users. And I tried to put `@someone` inside the message such as

     text=&#39;@someone This is a test.&#39;

The message will be posted but in plain text, but really mentioning someone. 
BTW, I am using a Test Token.(Or maybe this feature is only available for authorized token? )

Is there any option or method to do this?

I am new to IntelliJ and recently updated to **IntelliJ-2016.3**.  
In the editor for Java code, it shows the method signature upon usage. How do I disable this feature?

IntelliJ shows method parameter hints on usage - How to disable it

I&#39;m a beginner with spring boot. I&#39;m involved in the beginning of a project where we would build rest services using spring boot. Could you please advise the recommended directory structure to follow when building a project that will just expose rest services?

Maybe this is very simple but I&#39;m actually a noob on Java 8 features and don&#39;t know how to accomplish this. I have this simple line that contains the following text:

and I want to convert that line into a String array, separating each value by the comma (,), however, I also want to trim every field before returning  the final array, so I did the following:

    Arrays.stream(line.split(&quot;,&quot;)).map(String::trim).toArray();

However, this returns an Object[] array rather than a String[] array. Upon further inspection, I can confirm that the contents are actually String instances, but the array itself is of Object elements. Let me illustrate this, this is what the debugger says of the returned object:

    Object[]:
        0 = (String) &quot;Key&quot;
        1 = (String) &quot;Name&quot;

 As far as I can tell, the problem is in the return type of the map call, but how can I make it return a String[] array?

I&#39;m running: 

 - IntelliJ Ultimate 2016.3
 - Homebrew 1.1.2
 - OS X 10.11.5 El Capitan 

I ran `brew install groovy` which resulted in groovy being installed in `/usr/local/Cellar/groovy/2.4.7/`. Brew also added a symlink: `/usr/local/bin/groovy -&gt; ../Cellar/groovy/2.4.7/bin/groovy`


When I open the groovy project in IntelliJ, it gives me an option to Configure a Groovy SDK. I haven&#39;t set this up yet, so I get a &quot;Create&quot; button, which launches finder. From what I can tell there&#39;s nothing that I can select to make IntelliJ happy. I&#39;ve tried `/user/local/bin/groovy`, `/user/local/Cellar/groovy`, `/user/local/Cellar/groovy/2.4.7`, `/user/local/Cellar/groovy/2.4.7/bin` etc. No mater which I choose, IntelliJ doesn&#39;t accept the library and continues to tell me &quot;Error: library is not specified&quot;. 

Does anyone know how I&#39;m supposed to go about telling IntelliJ where groovy is?

I&#39;m using *Express.js* in my code with *Node.js* v7.3. In this I&#39;ve created a `User Router` which forwards the requests to my `User Controller`.

I&#39;m using async/await inside the `User Controller` to do asynchronous calls. The problem is that IntelliJ gives me a warning saying that 

&gt; Promise returned from login() is ignored.

The thing is I&#39;m not even returning anything from the `login()` method.

Here&#39;s the code - 

**UserRouter.js**

    router.post(&#39;/login&#39;, function (req, res, next) {
        userController.login(req, res); // I get the warning here
    });

**UserController.js**

    exports.login = async function (req, res) {
        try {
            const verifiedUser = await someFunction(req.body.access_code);

If I write the same login method using native promises only then I don&#39;t get this warning. Am I understanding something wrong here or is IntelliJ at fault?

Thanks to @Stephen, I understand that an async function returns a promise but wouldn&#39;t it be better if Intellij identifies that nothing is being returned from the async function and doesn&#39;t show that warning because when I chain a `.then()` after the `login()` function, it provides an `undefined` object into the then result. It means if we don&#39;t return something from the async function explicitly then undefined is returned?

1. Output of first `System.out.println()` statement:

2. Output of second `System.out.println()` statement:

        java.lang.ClassCastException: java.lang.Integer (in module: java.base)
            cannot be cast to java.lang.Long (in module: java.base)

Why do I get the first output? Isn&#39;t there a cast as well? Why do I get the exception in the second output?

PS: I use Java 9; I tried it with the JShell and I got an exception on both outputs. Then I tried it with IntelliJ IDE and got the first output but the exception at the second.
