Jenkins has a link to their REST API in the **bottom right of each page**.
This link appears on every page of Jenkins and points you to an API output for the exact page you are browsing. That should provide some understanding into how to build the API URls.

You can additionally use some wrapper, like I do, in Python, using http://jenkinsapi.readthedocs.io/en/latest/

**Additional Solution:** use **Restul api wrapper libraries** written in `Java` / `python` / `Ruby` - An object oriented wrappers which aim to provide a more conventionally way of controlling a Jenkins server.

I am required to extract the time of the day from the [datetime.datetime][1] object returned by the *[created_at][2]* attribute, but how can I do that?

This is my code for getting the datetime.datetime object.

In iOS 7, the document directory of the iOS simulators can be found in:

    /Users/Sabo/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/

However, in **iOS 8 Beta Simulator**, I can&#39;t find the corresponding directory for **iOS 8** in the directory above.

I heard that Groovy has a built-in REST/HTTP client. The only library I can find is [HttpBuilder](https://github.com/jgritman/httpbuilder), **is this it?**

Basically I&#39;m looking for a way to do HTTP GETs from inside Groovy code without having to import any libraries (if at all possible). But since this module doesn&#39;t appear to be a part of core Groovy I&#39;m not sure if I have the right lib here.

Let&#39;s say I have an API where you can get users:

    GET /RESTAPI/user/

And you can delete users by:

    DELETE /RESTAPI/user/123

What is the *RESTful convention* on what the DELETE&#39;s response body should contain?
I expected it should be the new list of all users which now doesn&#39;t contain the user with id 123 anymore.

Googling around didn&#39;t get me any satisfying answers. I only found opinions on how to do that, **but isn&#39;t there a strict definition of RESTful Services**?

since this questions asks for a strict definition regarding DELETE. Those questions were answered by loose opinions only.

RESTful - What should a DELETE response body contain

I am playing around with Nodejs and express by building a small rest API. My question is, what is the good practice/best way to set the code status, as well as the response data?

Let me explain with a little bit of code (I will not put the node and express code necessary to start the server, just the router methods that are concerned):

The code below works perfectly, and when sending a request with Postman, I get the following result:

As you can see, the status shows 200, which is OK. But is this the best way to do this? Is there a case where I should have to set the status myself, as well as the returned JSON? Or is that always handled by express?

For example, I just made a quick test and slightly modified the get method above:

    router.get(&#39;/users/:id&#39;, function(req, res, next) {
      var user = users.getUserById(req.params.id);
      if (user == null || user == &#39;undefined&#39;) {
        res.status(404);
      }
      res.json(user);
    });

As you can see, if the user is not found in the array, I will just set a status of 404.

Proper way to set response status and JSON content in a REST API made with nodejs and express

I’ve been trying to access this particular REST service from a PHP page I’ve created on our server.  I narrowed the problem down to these two lines.  So my PHP page looks like this:

We’re using a Gentoo server.  We recently upgraded to PHP version 5.6.  It was after the upgrade when this problem appeared.    

I found when I replace the REST service with an address like `https://www.google.com`; my page works just fine.  


In an earlier attempt I set `“verify_peer”=&gt;false`, and passed that in as an argument to file_get_contents, as described here:  https://stackoverflow.com/questions/15076819/file-get-contents-ignoring-verify-peer-false  But like the writer noted; it made no difference.  

I’ve asked one of our server administrators if these lines in our php.ini file exist:

 - extension=php_openssl.dll
 - allow_url_fopen = On


He told me that since we’re on Gentoo, openssl is compiled when we build; and it’s not set in the php.ini file.  

I also confirmed that `allow_url_fopen` is working.  Due to the specialized nature of this problem; I’m not finding a lot of information for help.  Have any of you come across something like this?  Thanks.  

file_get_contents(): SSL operation failed with code 1, Failed to enable crypto

Recently, in our company, we decided to use _Ansible_ for deployment and continuous integration. But when I started using Ansible I didn&#39;t find modules for building Java projects with Maven, or modules for running JUnit tests, or JMeter tests. 

So, I&#39;m in a doubtful state: it may be I&#39;m using Ansible in a wrong way. 

When I looked at Jenkins, it can do things like build, run tests, deploy. The missing thing in Hudson is creating/deleting an instance in cloud environments like AWS.

So, in general, for what purposes do we need to use Ansible/Jenkins? For CI do I need to use a combination of Ansible and Jenkins?

Please throw some light on correct usage of Ansible.

When setting up how Jenkins shoul pull changes from subversion
I tried checked Poll SCM and set schedule to `5 * * * *`, I get the following warning

Does anyone know how to increase the the timeout window before Jenkins logs out a user?  I&#39;m looking to raise it to 1 day or so.

I work in and out jenkins all day and we keep getting logged out between running of jobs.  Added to this frustration, the &#39;stay logged in&#39; checkbox doesn&#39;t seem to work either.

Basically we upgraded to xcode 6.1 and our build are getting the &quot;ResourceRules.plist: cannot read resources&quot; error.

We have a Jenkins server that does our ios builds for us.  We are using the [Xcode plugin][5] on Jenkins to do the actual build and signing.  Any thoughts on how we can make this change without manually opening xcode and doing this solution found on the other answers:

&gt;and add :

I&#39;m very new to Xcode and iOS build in general.  I have found the project.pbxproj file inside the Unity-iPhone.xcodeproj file.  It looks like this contains the build settings under the **/* Begin XCBuildConfiguration section */** section it lists what looks like similar build properties foundin Xcode, however I do not see anything like &quot;Code Signing Resource Rules Path&quot;.

Does anyone have experience manually editing this file?  Is that a bad idea in general?

How do we manually fix &quot;ResourceRules.plist: cannot read resources&quot; error after xcode 6.1 upgrade?

I&#39;m following [guideline][1] how to sign Android apk with Jenkins. I have parametrized Jenkins job with KSTOREPWD and KEYPWD. A part of Jenkins&#39; job configuration (Build-&gt;Execute shell) is to take those parameters and store them as environment variables:

    export KSTOREPWD=${KSTOREPWD}
    export KEYPWD=${KEYPWD}
    ...
    ./gradlew assembleRelease

The problem is when the build is over anybody can access the build &quot;Console Output&quot; and see what passwords were entered; part of that output:

    08:06:57 + export KSTOREPWD=secretStorePwd
    08:06:57 + KSTOREPWD=secretStorePwd
    08:06:57 + export KEYPWD=secretPwd
    08:06:57 + KEYPWD=secretPwd

So I&#39;d like to suppress echo before output from `export` commands and re-enable echo after `export` commands.
