In IntelliJ when I right click on a test I dont see a &quot;Run ClassX or MethodY&quot; anymore. Infact there is no &quot;run&quot; window and when I right click I cannot run any class.

It was all working fine about 3 hours ago so I am not quite sure what has changed?

**UPDATE 1** I installed IDEA 11 and imported settings from 10 and then saw that it was not a free upgrade close IDEA 11 and started using IDEA 10. I am fairly certain things stopped working from that point but not sure. Is that a problem? Can I somehow delete IntelliJ configuration directory somehow and restart?

I was just wondering with how should we deal with the iPhone 5 bigger screen size.

As it has more pixels in height, things like GCRectMake that use coordinates (and just doubled the pixels with the retina/non retina problem) won&#39;t work seamlessly between versions, as it happened when we got the [Retina][1].

And will we have to design two storyboards, just like for the iPad?

I personally don&#39;t think Apple will require you to check the screen size every time you have to draw something, like many answers say. Does that happen with the iPad?

iOS 6 apps - how to deal with iPhone 5 screen size?

I have just installed Xcode 4.5 for iOS6 support, and I have seen a new icon called &#39;Exit&#39; in my Storyboard, listed under my view controllers along with &#39;First Responder&#39; etc. A little green icon labeled &#39;Exit&#39;.

I can find anything about it, nor work out how it can be used. How does it work?

I&#39;ve just upgraded to Xcode 4.5 GM and found out that you can now apply the &#39;4&quot; Retina&#39; size to your view controller in the storyboard.

Now if I want to create an application that runs on both iPhone 4 and 5, of course I have to build every window twice, but I also have to detect whether the user has an iPhone with 3.5&quot; or 4&quot; screen and then apply the view.

How should I do that?

In my app I have multiple views, some views need to support both portrait and landscape, while other views need to support portrait only.  Thus, in the project summary, I have all selected all orientations.

The below code worked to disable landscape mode on a given view controller prior to iOS 6:

This method is correctly called when the view appears (I can set a breakpoint to ensure this), but the interface still rotates to landscape mode regardless of the fact that I&#39;m returning the mask for portrait modes only.  What am I doing wrong?

It seems that it&#39;s currently impossible to build an app that has different orientation requirements per view.  It seems to only adhere to the orientations specified in the project summary.

iOS6: supportedInterfaceOrientations not working (is invoked but the interface still rotates)

Suppose I have a nav controller stack with 2 view controllers: VC2 is on top and VC1 is underneath.  Is there code I can include in VC1 that will detect that VC2 has just been popped off the stack?  

Since I&#39;m trying to detect the popping of VC2 from within the code for VC1 it seems that something like **viewWillAppear** or **viewDidAppear** won&#39;t work, because those methods fire every time VC1 is displayed, including when it is first pushed on the stack.

**EDIT:** it seems I was not very clear with my original question.  Here&#39;s what I&#39;m trying to do: determine when VC1 is being shown due to VC2 being popped off the top of the stack.  Here&#39;s what I&#39;m NOT trying to do: determine when VC1 is being shown due to being pushed onto the top of the stack.  I need some way that will detect the first action but NOT the second action.  

Note: I don&#39;t particularly care about VC2, it can be any number of other VCs that get popped off the stack, what I do care about is when VC1 becomes the top of the stack again due to some other VC begin popped off the top.

I upgraded [Xcode][1] version and when using external static libraries, I get this message:

My app (iPad;iOS 6) is a landscape only application, but when I try using a UIPopoverController to display the photo library it throws this error:

I have a UICollectionView with a flow layout and each cell is a square. How do I determine the spacing between each cells on each row? I can&#39;t seem to find the appropriate settings for this. I see there&#39;s a min spacing attributes on the nib file for a collection view, but I set this to 0 and the cells doesn&#39;t even stick.

How do you determine spacing between cells in UICollectionView flowLayout

Apple&#39;s iPad Mini is a smaller clone of the iPad 2 in more ways than we&#39;d want. In JavaScript, the `window.navigator` object exposes the same values for the Mini and iPad 2. My tests so far to detect the difference have not lead to success.

Why is this important? 

As the iPad Mini and iPad 2 screens are identical in pixels but vary in actual size (inches / centimeters), they vary in [PPI][1] (pixels per inch).

For web applications and games to offer a friendly user interface, certain elements are adjusted in size relative to a user&#39;s thumb or finger position, thus, we may want to scale certain images or buttons to provide for that better user experience.

Things I have tried so far (including some pretty obvious approaches):

 - `window.devicepixelratio`
 - CSS element width in cm unit
 - CSS media queries (such as `resolution` and `-webkit-device-pixel-ratio`)
 - SVG drawings in similar units
 - Doing all sorts of CSS webkit transforms for a set time and counting rendered frames with `requestAnimFrame` (I was hoping to detect a measurable difference)

I&#39;m fresh out of ideas. How about you?

Thanks for the responses so far. I would like to comment on people voting against detecting iPad mini versus 2 as Apple has uhm, one guideline to rule them all. Okay, here&#39;s my reasoning why I feel it really makes all sense in the world to know if a person is using an iPad mini or a 2. And do with my reasoning what you like.

The iPad mini is not only a much smaller device (9.7 inch versus 7.9 inch), but its form factor allows for a different usage. The iPad 2 is usually held with two hands when gaming unless you&#39;re [Chuck Norris][2]. The mini is smaller, but it is also much lighter and allows for gameplay where you hold it in one hand and use another to swipe or tap or whatnot. As a game designer and developer myself, I&#39;d just like to **know** if it&#39;s a mini so I can choose to provide the player with a different controlscheme if I want (for instance after A/B testing with a group of players). 

Why? Well, it&#39;s a proven fact that the majority of users tend to go with the default settings, so leaving out a virtual thumbstick and putting some other tap-based control on the screen (just giving an arbitrary example here) when the player loads up the game for the first time is what I, and probably other game designers, would love to **be able to** do.

So IMHO this goes beyond the thick fingers / guidelines discussions and is just something Apple and all other vendors ought to do: allow us to uniquely identify your device and **think different** instead of **following** guidelines.

Detect iPad Mini in HTML5

When I run this command:

...I get this result (with nothing else in the file):

But when I run `wget http://yahoo.com` with no `--user-agent` option, I get the full page.

The user agent is the same header that my current browser sends. Why does this happen? Is there a way to make sure the user agent doesn&#39;t get blocked when using wget?

I recently started wondering about sites like http://thismachine.info/ that get the user&#39;s operating system info. I have not been able to find out how to do that with PHP, and wanted to try to figure it out.

I noticed that they list the `user-agent`, which gives lots of info about the browser. Do they get the operating system information from that, or from something else? Is there an API I could use to get the user&#39;s operating system?

I see how they got the Browser and IP, but could not figure out the Operating System part!

I understand the error to be due to the site not letting python access it, to stop bots wasting their network resources- which is understandable. I went searching and found that you need to change the user agent for urllib. However all the guides and solutions I have found for this issue as to how to change the user agent have been with urllib2, and I am using python 3 so all the solutions don&#39;t work.

How do I set a custom useragent string in a WKWebView? I&#39;m trying to embed the version of my app so that my server-side can see what features are available. I found the following method:

I&#39;ve tried updating to the recommended overload with a completion handler (but set to NULL) like this:

But then this line throws two errors:
