I downloaded Composer, installed Laravel, and started my first Laravel project to begin learning Laravel using the lessons on laracast (great lessons). Lesson two covers routes. My new project does not have a routes.php file.

I deleted composer and started again. Same thing. Tried two different computers. Same thing. I was using NetBeans so I tried using PHP Storm. Same thing. I tried making my own routes.php file but it doesn&#39;t seem to work right because I know nothing about Laravel at this point. I tried creating and saving the project in htdocs, and then PHPStorm project folder, again - no routes.php file.

Composer is saved here- C:\Users\myName\AppData\Roaming\Composer\vendor\bin. I used composer global require &quot;laravel/installer&quot; in command prompt to install laravel. Any ideas?


Missing routes.php File in New Laravel Project

I have the following code, it is supposed to cast a `rune` into a `string` and print it. However, I am getting undefined characters when it is printed. I am unable to figure out where the bug is:

I started using Visual Studio Code today (I&#39;ve been using Atom and Sublime for years). 

In Atom/Sublime (and Chrome, Firefox, etc...) you can go to another open tab with CMD + a number. Is it possible to get that behavior in VSC? (Mac)

JSX or HTML autocompletion in Visual Studio Code

I would like to automatically format TypeScript code using the build-in formatter when I save a file in Visual Studio Code. 

I&#39;m aware of the following options, but none of them is good enough: 

 - Format manually `Shift + Alt + F`
 - Format on type `&quot;editor.formatOnType&quot;: true`
  - It formats the line when you press enter. Unfortunatelly, it leaves it unformatted when you mouse-click another line or press up/down arrow. 
 - Use existing extension
  - I tried this [one](https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=gyuha.format-on-save), but it does not seem to work too well. 
 - Use beautify `&quot;beautify.onSave&quot;: true`
  - It does not work with TypeScript
 - Write custom extension
  - It&#39;s tricky if you want to handle autosaves and builds correctly. 

How do you format code on save in VS Code

I just downloaded [Visual Studio Code][1] and started playing with it. 

The you tube [video here][2] recommends Quick Tour Videos. 

So the question is how can I see the welcome page on Visual Studio code. When ever I open now, I am not seeing it. Probably when you open for the first time, you are shown this. But once you close that how do I reopen it?

How can I display lineendings (CR,LF) in Visual Studio Code (not in Visual Studio)?

At the moment there is only the little statusbar menu which display/change the line ending if the actual file. But sometimes it would be great to see the line endings directly in every line especially when there are mixed line endings (not good, but this happens from time to time).

I use the following settings, but none of them show the line endings.

Visual Studio Code: How to show line endings

I came from **Sublime** to **Visual Studio Code** and I&#39;m looking for the history of searches in the Visual Code , what was in the Sublime with  - 

&lt;kbd&gt;Ctrl&lt;/kbd&gt;+&lt;kbd&gt;Shift&lt;/kbd&gt;+&lt;kbd&gt;F&lt;/kbd&gt;

How could I get the same functionality on Visual Studio Code on its search text field ?
