Try double-clicking on the bottom right hand corner of the cell (ie on the box that you would otherwise drag).

If the formula already exists in a cell you can fill it down as follows:

* Select the cell containing the formula and press &lt;kbd&gt;CTRL&lt;/kbd&gt;+&lt;kbd&gt;SHIFT&lt;/kbd&gt;+&lt;kbd&gt;DOWN&lt;/kbd&gt; to select the rest of the column (&lt;kbd&gt;CTRL&lt;/kbd&gt;+&lt;kbd&gt;SHIFT&lt;/kbd&gt;+&lt;kbd&gt;END&lt;/kbd&gt; to select up to the last row where there is data)
* Fill down by pressing &lt;kbd&gt;CTRL&lt;/kbd&gt;+&lt;kbd&gt;D&lt;/kbd&gt;
* Use &lt;kbd&gt;CTRL&lt;/kbd&gt;+&lt;kbd&gt;UP&lt;/kbd&gt; to return up

On Mac, use &lt;kbd&gt;CMD&lt;/kbd&gt; instead of &lt;kbd&gt;CTRL&lt;/kbd&gt;.

An alternative if the formula is in the first cell of a column:

* Select the entire column by clicking the column header or selecting any cell in the column and pressing &lt;kbd&gt;CTRL&lt;/kbd&gt;+&lt;kbd&gt;SPACE&lt;/kbd&gt;
* Fill down by pressing &lt;kbd&gt;CTRL&lt;/kbd&gt;+&lt;kbd&gt;D&lt;/kbd&gt;


Select a range of cells (the entire column in this case), type in your formula, and hold down Ctrl while you press Enter. This places the formula in all selected cells.

I&#39;ve tried reading through questions about sibling imports and even the

I have an interesting challenge - I need to run a check on the following data in Excel:

    |   A  -   B  -   C  -  D   |
    |------|------|------|------|
    |  36  |   0  |   0  |   x  |
    |   0  |  600 |  700 |   x  |
    |___________________________|

You&#39;ll have to excuse my wonderfully bad ASCII art. So I need the D column (x) to run a check against the adjacent cells, then convert the values if necessary. Here&#39;s the criteria:

If column B is greater than 0, everything works great and I can get coffee. If it doesn&#39;t meet that requirement, then I need to convert A1 according to a table - for example, `32 = 1420` and place into `D`. Unfortunately, there is no relationship between A and what it needs to convert to, so creating a calculation is out of the question.

A case or switch statement would be perfect in this scenario, but I don&#39;t think it is a native function in Excel. I also think it would be kind of crazy to chain a bunch of `=IF()` statements together, which I did about four times before deciding it was a bad idea (story of my life).

How can I get the cell where my VBA Function is called from?

In other words, what is the VBA equivalent for INDIRECT(ROW(), COLUMN()) ?

I&#39;m *not* looking for **ActiveCell**.

What I want to do is have a simple function `ThisRow_Col(rColumn As String)` return the column X of the row it&#39;s called from. Say in B2 I call =ThisRow_Col(&quot;A&quot;), it should return the value of A2. This should work regardless of which cell active.

**EDIT**: Thanks Charles for the answer: **Application.Caller**. The following code gets the column X of the current row, independent of where the selection is:

    Function ThisRow_Col(rColumn As Range)

        ThisRow_Col = Application.Caller.Worksheet.Cells(Application.Caller.Row, rColumn.Column).Value

    End Function

Note that passing the column as a Range (`ThisRow_Col(A1)`) is better than passing it as a string, because Excel can automatically update the formulas if you move or insert columns. Of course the `1` row of `A1` is just a convention.

Here&#39;s my formula in cell B1:

I get `FALSE` when A1 does not say `#VALUE!` so that part is fine.  But, when it does say `#VALUE!`, I get a `#VALUE!` error in cell B1, when I want it to say `TRUE`.  How do I do this?

Error in finding last used cell in Excel with VBA

This seems like a simple Pivot Table to learn with.  I would like to do a count of unique values for a particular value I&#39;m grouping on.

For instance, I have this:

    ABC   123
    ABC   123
    ABC   123
    DEF   456
    DEF   567
    DEF   456
    DEF   456

What I want is a pivot table that shows me this:

    ABC   1
    DEF   2

The simple pivot table that I create just gives me this (a count of how many rows):

    ABC   3
    DEF   4  

But I want the number of unique values instead.

What I&#39;m really trying to do is find out which values in the first column don&#39;t have the same value in the second column for all rows.  In other words, &quot;ABC&quot; is &quot;good&quot;, &quot;DEF&quot; is &quot;bad&quot;

I&#39;m sure there is an easier way to do it but thought I&#39;d give pivot table a try...
