You&#39;ll need `IComponentContext` or `ILifetimeScope` for most purposes. These are automatically provided by Autofac, so all you need to do is take a (constructor) dependency on one of them and the current instance will be injected.

Both interfaces provide the standard `Resolve()` operations, while `ILifetimeScope` extends `IComponentContext` by adding methods for starting new nested lifetimes.

Components that want to use the services of the container to access other components need to do so within their own scope, rather than the &#39;global&#39; `IContainer`, so that the correct instance can be returned. E.g. within an HTTP request, the injected `IComponentContext` or `ILifetimeScope` will be the one for the current request.

Most problems that require an injected context can also be (often more elegantly) overcome using Relationship Types - see: http://autofac.readthedocs.org/en/latest/resolve/relationships.html.

Trying to convert a JSON string into an object in C#. Using a really simple test case:

I understand the concept behind DI, but I&#39;m just learning what different IoC containers can do.  It seems that most people advocate using IoC containers to wire up stateless services, but what about using them for stateful objects like entities?

Whether it&#39;s right or wrong, I normally stuff my entities with behavior, even if that behavior requires an outside class.  Example:

1. Is it considered bad practice to have your entities depend on outside classes such as the ShipQuoter?  Eliminating these dependencies seems to lead me towards an anemic domain, if I understand the definition correctly.

2. Is it bad practice to use an IoC container to resolve these dependencies and construct an entity when needed?  Is it possible to do this?

Self injection with Spring

I&#39;m a little confused concerning when to use `${...}` compared to `#{...}`. Spring&#39;s documentation only uses `#{...}`, but there are plenty of examples that use `${...}`. Furthermore, when I started with SpEL I was told to use `${...}` and it works fine.

For those who are confused, an example of how I use it would be

According to the [paper written by Martin Fowler][1], inversion of control is the principle where the control flow of a program is inverted: instead of the programmer controlling the flow of a program, the external sources (framework, services, other components) take control of it. It&#39;s like we plug something into something else. He mentioned an example about EJB 2.0:

&gt; defines ejbRemove, ejbPassivate
&gt; (stored to secondary storage), and
&gt; ejbActivate (restored from passive
&gt; state). You don&#39;t get to control when
&gt; these methods are called, just what

This leads to the difference between framework and library:

I think, the point of view that DI is IOC, means the dependency of an object is inverted: instead of it controlling its own dependencies, life cycle... something else does it for you. But, as you told me about DI by hands, DI is not necessarily IOC. We can still have DI and no IOC.

However, in this paper (from the pococapsule, another IOC Framework for C/C++), it suggests that because of IOC and DI, the IOC containers and DI frameworks are far more superior to J2EE, since J2EE mixes the framework code into the components, thus not making it Plain Old Java/C++ Object (POJO/POCO).

I currently creating some experimental projects with nodejs. I have programmed a lot Java EE web applications with Spring and appreciated the ease of dependency injection there.

Now I am curious: How do I do dependency injection with node? Or: Do I even need it? Is there a replacing concept, because the programming style is different? 

I am talking about simple things, like sharing a database connection object, so far, but I have not found a solution that satisfies me.

Passing parameters to constructors using Autofac

Is it possible to configure Autofac to work with ASP .NET MVC and ASP .NET Web Api. I&#39;m aware that the dependency resolvers are different. But when using the documented approaches I can only set one global resolver.
