Webkit has a specific style property for that: `-webkit-tap-highlight-color`.

Latest versions of iOS are ignoring RGBA colors for some reason.

To remove it, I ended up having to use the following:

I am trying to compile a program which uses [udis86][1] library. Actually I am using an example program given in the [user-manual][2] of the library. But while compiling, it gives error. The errors I get are: 

    example.c:(.text+0x7): undefined reference to &#39;ud_init&#39;
    example.c:(.text+0x7): undefined reference to &#39;ud_set_input_file&#39;
    .
    .
    example.c:(.text+0x7): undefined reference to &#39;ud_insn_asm&#39;


The command I am using is:

    $ gcc -ludis86 example.c -o example 
as instructed in the user-manual.

Clearly, linker is not able to link libudis library. But if I change my command to:

    $ gcc example.c -ludis86 -o example 
It starts working. So can please someone explain what is the problem with the first command?

Why does the order of &#39;-l&#39; option in gcc matter?

I have been going around and around with storing date and time in SQLite3 with the intention of retrieving the records using comparisons later e.g. `SELECT * WHERE date1 &lt; date2`

I finally gave up trying to store datetime.datetime objects and decided to use a UNIX timestamp instead as they are just an int and easy to manipulate but I am still getting errors.

After investigating the problem a little further I found that you have to use a trailing comma to create a single element tuple e.g. `(temp,)`

When I click on my `UITableViewCell`, the background part (the areas that my background image doesn&#39;t cover) turns blue when I click on the cell. Also, all of the `UILabel`s on the cell turn to white when it is clicked which is what I want.

However what I do not want is the blue background when I click it but if I do `selectionstylenone`, then I lose the highlighted colours for the `UILabel`s in the cell.

So is there any way to just get rid of the blue background when the cell is clicked but to keep the highlighted colors of the `UILabel`s?

Custom UITableViewCell selection style?

Seems like `UITextAlignmentCenter` is deprecated in iOS 6. 

I still use it and works well, but it gives a warning.

How can I fix this?

I have a solution by which I can create scrollable tables w/fixed header/footer using minor jQuery and CSS - but I am looking for a way to make this a CSS-only solution that is cross-browser compliant.

To be clear, what I am seeking to do is use **only** a `table` tag (and it&#39;s valid sub-tags, `colgroup`, `col`, `thead`, `tbody`, `tfoot`, `tr`, `th`, `td`), but adopt a set of CSS rules which will meet the following conditions:

 1. Must maintain column alignment between header / footer / content rows
 2. Must allow the header/footer to remain fixed while the content scrolls vertically
 3. Must not require any jQuery or other JavaScript in order to provide the functionality
 4. Must only use the tags provided above

This code example: http://jsfiddle.net/TroyAlford/SNKfd/ shows my current approach. Most of the JS is just to populate the table with random values, but the last portion is what drives the left/right scrollability.

CSS-Only Scrollable Table with fixed headers

I want to create alternating 100% colored blocks. An &quot;ideal&quot; situation is illustrated as an attachment, as well as the current situation.

My first idea was to create an div class, give it a background color, and give it 100% width.

I have a nav-menu on which it seems that I can&#39;t add a space (`margin: 3px;`) between the `&lt;li&gt;` elements.

You will see that I&#39;ve added a `border-bottom: 2px solid #fff;` to the `#access li` to simulate the space between elements, but that is not going to work because under the nav-menu I will have a bunch of different colors. If I add `margin-button: 2px` it doesn&#39;t work.

Add space between &lt;li&gt; elements

I&#39;m using jQuery (v1.7.1) and I need to get the absolute, floating-point width of an element, but all of jQuery&#39;s width methods seem to be rounding-off the value of the width.

For example if the actual width of an element was `20.333333px`, jQuery&#39;s width method returns `20`, i.e ignoring the decimal value.

So, my question is: How do I get the floating-point value of the width of an element?

On the settings page, I want to include three links to

- My app support site
- YouTube app tutorial
- My primary site (ie: linked to a &#39;Created by Dale Dietrich&#39; label.)

I&#39;ve searched this site and the web and my documentation and I&#39;ve found nothing that is obvious.

**NOTE:** I don&#39;t want to open web pages within my app. I just want to send the link to Safari and that link be open there. I&#39;ve seen a number of apps doing the same thing in their Settings page, so it must be possible.




How to launch Safari and open URL from iOS app

Since the upgrade to iOS 6, we are seeing Safari&#39;s web view take the liberty of caching `$.ajax` calls. This is in the context of a PhoneGap application so it is using the Safari WebView. Our `$.ajax` calls are `POST` methods and we have cache set to false `{cache:false}`, but still this is happening. We tried manually adding a `TimeStamp` to the headers but it did not help.

We did more research and found that Safari is only returning cached results for web services that have a function signature that is static and does not change from call to call.  For instance, imagine a function called something like:

    getNewRecordID(intRecordType)

This function receives the same input parameters over and over again, but the data it returns should be different every time.

Must be in Apple&#39;s haste to make iOS 6 zip along impressively they got too happy with the cache settings.  Has anyone else seen this behavior on iOS 6? If so, what exactly is causing it?

The workaround that we found was to modify the function signature to be something like this:

    getNewRecordID(intRecordType, strTimestamp)

and then always pass in a `TimeStamp` parameter as well, and just discard that value on the server side.  This works around the issue. 

Is Safari on iOS 6 caching $.ajax results?

I want to create a web-page, a page that will redirect an iPhone to the [App&amp;nbsp;Store][1] if the iPhone does not have the application installed, but if the iPhone has the app installed I want it to open the application.

I have already implemented a custom URL in the iPhone application, so I have a URL for the application that is something like:

    myapp://

And if this URL is invalid, I want the page to redirect to the App Store. Is this possible at all?

If I don&#39;t have the application installed on the phone and write the myapp:// URL in Safari, all I get is an error message.

Even if there exists an ugly hack with JavaScript, I would really like to know.

How can I check if an app is installed from a web-page on an iPhone

Fixed position breaks on header when I click on the &quot;Search Form&quot; text box field. It simply detaches from the top of the page (as it&#39;s fixed up there) and starts floating middle of the page when the virtual keyboard opens up.

iOS iPad Fixed position breaks when keyboard is opened

I understand that mobile safari has a lot of bugs around fixed elements, but for the most part I&#39;ve managed to get my layout working correctly until I added a much needed text input to the fixed navigation at the bottom. Now when the user focuses on the text input element and the virtual keyboard appears, my navigation, which is otherwise always fixed at the bottom of the page, jumps up to a really strange spot in the middle of the page.

I&#39;d add some of my code to this post, but I wouldn&#39;t be sure where to start. That navigation is fixed at the bottom and positioned to the left and bottom 0, and 100% width. From there, I don&#39;t know what&#39;s going on, I can only assume it&#39;s a mobile safari bug.

It also appears to lose it&#39;s position fixed and become relative, only while the text input element is focused on and the virtual keyboard is open.

How do I stop my fixed navigation from moving like this when the virtual keyboard opens in Mobile Safari?

An AngularJS application works fine on desktop, but is not rendering properly on mobile (actual code is showing). This is on an Android phone.

I came across this problem a few times and was wondering if there was a solution to this problem.
My problem occurs on the Chrome mobile app. There, you can scroll down a bit and the address bar disappears. So far, so good, let&#39;s make an example: &lt;br&gt; 
The container&#39;s `height` is set to `100vh`.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;

Is there a way, that it looks the same with or without the address bar? So that the container expands or something?
