Select the layout, and then drop the widget onto the corresponding selected item in the Object Inspector pane. If you find it tricky to select the layout on the actual form, you can also select it via the Object Inspector pane.

One way (that I usually do as a workaround for not having to show the structure panel) is to select the layout, setting the top or bottom margins to any value (10, whatever) and then dragging the component into the layout. Yeah, that is just for the pure pleasure of dropping the component in the layout, i know, but is a way.

My small trick:

 - Select layout
 - Change temporary &quot;layoutTopMargin&quot;
 - Drop into layout required widgets
 - Restore layoutTopMargin to default 0

According to the [cppreference.com][1] reference site on [std::shufle][2], the following method is being deprecated in c++14:

Why will we no longer be able to call the following function without passing a third parameter?

    std::random_shuffle(v.begin(),v.end()); //no longer valid in c++14

It doesn&#39;t appear as though a different function deceleration has a default parameter set.  What is the reason behind this?  Was there some kind of alternative added?

Why are std::shuffle methods being deprecated in C++14?

I came across this [old question](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/6146182/how-to-optimize-for-comprehensions-and-loops-in-scala) and did the following experiment with scala 2.10.3.

I rewrote the Scala version to use explicit tail recursion:

I am using Qt Designer, and I would like to move a couple of top-level widgets into a horizontal layout.

I use Python 3 and PyQt5. Here&#39;s my test PyQt5 program, focus on the last 2 lines:

I know `exec` is a language keyword in Python. But code on [Official PyQt5 Documentation][1] *(specifically the **Object Destruction on Exit** part)*. I see that example shows use of `app.exec()` which confuses me.

When I tested it on my machine. I found there is no any visible difference from my end. Both with and without `_` produces the same output in no time difference.

My question is:

 - Is there anything wrong going when I use `app.exec()`? like clashing with Python&#39;s internal `exec`? I suspect because both `exec`&#39;s are executing something.
 - If not, can I use both interchangeably?

I have seen references to all three of these applications on various parts of the Qt website but am completely unclear as to the exact differences between them and whether they are actually separate things or just different names for the same thing, or the name changed over time? Qt Designer vs Qt Quick Designer vs Qt Creator?

Installed just the IDE on Windows 7.  I want to create a Plain C++ Project (Non-QT Project); however I get an error: **No valid kits found**.  When I click on Options-&gt;Kits, I see the *Desktop (default)* kit, and it shows no errors.  

Am I getting the error because I didn&#39;t install a Qt library?  If so, is there any way I can bypass downloading/installing that and just use the IDE?

With iOS 8.0, Apple introduced [UIAlertController](https://developer.apple.com/library/prerelease/iOS/documentation/UIKit/Reference/UIAlertController_class/index.html) to replace [UIActionSheet](https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/documentation/uikit/reference/uiactionsheet_class/Reference/Reference.html). Unfortunately, Apple didn&#39;t add any information on how to present it. How to scroll the edittext inside the scrollview

I am running a Docker container mainly as an isolated development environment for the `R` language. (The usage of `R` here is orthogonal to the rest of the post, i.e. you can just assume any generic program that can run in a `repl`-session.) A lot of times this will involve doing stuff like plotting, making graphics and so on; and I need to look at 
these. Hence, I would prefer to have the option of displaying graphics I created in my container. Here is how I do this so far. First I create a `Dockerfile`. Leaving out the trivial steps the ones most relevant are:

I&#39;m in the lucky situation that I can use the latest and greatest in CSS, disregarding legacy browsers. I thought I could use the flex layout to finally get rid of the old table-based layouts. For some reason, it&#39;s not doing what I want...

In Xamarin.Forms every ```View``` has the two properties ```HorizontalOptions``` and ```VerticalOptions```. Both are of type ```LayoutOptions``` and can have one of the following values:

Apparently it controls the view&#39;s alignment on the parent view. But how exactly is the behavior of each individual option? And what is the difference between ```Fill``` and the suffix ```Expand```?

Hello fellow programmers!

I&#39;ve got a simple box-layout which I would love to achieve using flexbox, but I simply can&#39;t figure it out. It should look like this image.

So basically a row and two columns, with the row being fixed at lets say 100px in height, but all in one container. My code so far is:

In my IntelliJ Idea 13.1.2 IDE I keep running into situations where I&#39;m selecting on a click and drag via my laptop touch pad. I keep accidentally clicking and dragging text and cutting lines. I&#39;ve searched the options and settings panels for the words click and drag but I don&#39;t see a way to turn this feature off. IntelliJ&#39;s help talks about how to use click and drag cutting but doesn&#39;t say how to disable it.
Does anyone know how to disable cut and paste through click and drag in the IntelliJ IDE?

I am trying to detect if a folder or a file is dragged in the **`dragover`** or **`dragenter`** events.

### For example:

In the `ondrop` event, there is an argument called `MouseEvent`, which has a field named `dataTransfer`, where are listed files (`.files`) or items (`.items`), depending on the browser, and I can read that in both [Chrome][1] and [Firefox][2]. However, for the `dragover` and `dragenter` events those fields (`.files` and `.items`) are empty. The problem is that **I need that information while dragging, not dropping**.

*NOTE: For both files and folders `event.dataTransfer.types[i] === &quot;Files&quot;` is `true`.*

### Background Research

I found [the following answer][3] to partially fit for my question: 

&gt; WebKit, and hence Chrome, is quite restrictive on when you can call `getData`. You&#39;re not allowed to do it inside `dragstart` or `dragover`. I think this is the canonical bug.

But that answer is from 2012, and **I can&#39;t find actual updated information on the topic**, so I am looking for updated information on this.
