I have a table with a very large amount of rows. Duplicates are not allowed but due to a problem with how the rows were created I know there are some duplicates in this table.
I need to eliminate the extra rows from the perspective of the key columns. Some other columns may have *slightly* different data but I do not care about that. I still need to keep one of these rows however. SELECT DISTINCT won&#39;t work because it operates on all columns and I need to suppress duplicates based on the key columns.

How can I delete the extra rows but still keep one efficiently?

I&#39;d like to use a Mixin to always add some init functionality to my child classes which each inherit from different API base classes. Specifically, I&#39;d like to make multiple different child classes that inherit from one of these different API-supplied base classes and the one Mixin, which will always have the Mixin initialization code executed in the same way, without code replication.  However, it seems that the \_\_init\_\_ function of the Mixin class never gets called unless I explicitly call it in the Child class&#39;s \_\_init\_\_ function, which is less than ideal.  I&#39;ve built up a simple test case:

        def __init__(self, *args, **kwargs):

    class SomeMixin(object):
        def __init__(self, *args, **kwargs):

Btw, if all my child classes were inheriting from same base class, I realize I could create a new middle class that inherits from the base class and the mixin and keep it DRY that way. However, they inherit from different base classes with common functionality. (Django Field classes, to be precise).

I&#39;m using IntelliJ 10 IDEA Ultimate Edition. 

I&#39;ve created a new file Test.py, and IntelliJ has correctly switched to Python parsing mode. (I can confirm this by typing &quot;d&quot;, it pops up &quot;def&quot; as a suggestion, and hitting tab correctly gives me &quot;def :&quot;)

However, when I try this code...

    import os
    
    cwd = os.getcw &lt;Ctrl-space&gt;

Two things happen....

 1. I get a squggly underline underneath os and hovering over it gives me a &quot;Unresolved reference &#39;os&#39;&quot; message
 2. I get no suggestions hitting Ctrl-space above, when I&#39;m expecting to see &quot;getcwd&quot;.

I&#39;m assuming that this must be a result of my not configuring IntelliJ properly in order to handle python modules, but I have no idea what it is I&#39;m missing.

Any IntelliJ/Python users able to help me out?

Ruby Exceptions -- Why &quot;else&quot;?

I am trying to return a view not issue a redirect to the user based on certain errors that could occur from my application, I want to handle the errors + log them inside my base controller, I do not want the error to propagate up to my Global.asax - Application_Error() method as I want this method to handle any other errors inside my app e.g. user enters a bogus URL, has anyone found a way around this?

NOTE: I have left my commented code as I had a workaround for some issues, this also shows I have multiple exceptions to possible handle...

EDIT: If I issue a RedirectToAction within this OnException override everything works as expected, but I only want to return the view and no redirection...
