You need to add a &lt;code&gt;x:ClassModifier=&quot;internal&quot;&lt;/code&gt; in the UserControl tag of the XAML file if you change the visibility of the class in the .cs file to internal.

The file generated from the XAML file (e.g. MyControl.g.cs) needs to match the code-behind file (e.g. MyControl.cs). &lt;code&gt;x:ClassModifier&lt;/code&gt; allows you to control the visibility of the part declaration in the MyControl.g.cs file.

I thought that I could use SimpleDB to take care of the most challenging area of my application (as far as scaling goes) - twitter-like comments, but with location on top - till the point when I sat down to actually start implementing it with SDB.

First thing, SDB has a 1000 bytes limitation per attribute value, which is not enough even for comments (probably need to break down longer values into multiple attributes). 

Then, maximum domain size is 10GB. The promise was that you could scale up without worrying about database sharding etc., since SDB will not degrade with increasing loads of data. But if I understand correctly, with domains I would have exactly the same problem as with sharding, ie. at some point need to implement data records&#39; distribution and queries across domains on application level.

Even for the simplest objects that I have in the whole application, ie. atomic user ratings, SDB is not an option, because it cannot calculate an average within the query (everything is string based). So to calculate average user rating for an object, I would have to load all records - 250 at a time - and calculate it on application level.

Am I missing something about SDB? Is 10GB really that much of a database to get over all SDB limitations? I was honestly enthusiastic about taking advantage of SDB, since I use S3 and EC2 already, but now I simply don&#39;t see a use case.

What&#39;s the point of using Amazon SimpleDB?

I&#39;ve seen some code, as well as some errors generated from my compiler that have a &#39;`**`&#39; token before the variable (eg **variablename unreferenced-- or something, I can&#39;t recall exactly offhand).  I&#39;m fairly certain this is related to pointers, if I had to guess it looks like it&#39;s trying to dereference twice.  &#39;`**`&#39; is fairly ungoogleable.  Can someone point me to a good website/documentation or would someone care to explain it here?

If I call `SelectAll` from a `GotFocus` event handler, it doesn&#39;t work with the mouse - the selection disappears as soon as mouse is released.

EDIT: People are liking Donnelle&#39;s answer, I&#39;ll try to explain why I did not like it as much as the accepted answer.

 - It is more complex, while the accepted answer does the same thing in a simpler way.
 - The usability of accepted answer is better. When you click in the middle of the text, text gets unselected when you release the mouse allowing you to start editing instantly, and if you still want to select all, just press the button again and this time it will not unselect on release. Following Donelle&#39;s recipe, if I click in the middle of text, I have to click second time to be able to edit. If I click somewhere within the text versus outside of the text, this most probably means I want to start editing instead of overwriting everything.

If I set TreeViewItem Background it highlights the header only. How can I highlight the whole line?

I want to take a collection of objects and bind it to a StackPanel so basically if the collection has 4 elements, inside the stack panel that should produce 4 buttons lets say.

How to use StringFormat in XAML elements?

I have a few WPF applications and I want all my styles to be in a shared assembly instead of declaring them in each application separately.

I am looking for a way so I don&#39;t have to change all my `Style=&quot;{StaticResource BlahBlah}&quot;` in the existing applications; I just want to add the reference to this style assembly, and delete it from the current application, so it&#39;s taken from the assembly.
