Yes, that is how it works. The arguments are automatically put into an array. The argument &quot;urls&quot; behaves like a `URL[]`. [Varargs are documented here][1]. They were introduced in Java 1.5, so, are available in J2SE 1.5+, and all of Android since it supports Java 1.5+ language features. No version of JavaME/J2ME supports it.

I am saving some cookie values on an ASP page. I want to set the root path for cookie so that the cookie will be available on all pages.

Currently the cookie path is `/v/abcfile/frontend/`

but the assertion fails

so I convert the string to float then try to call `assertEquals(val1,val2)` but this is not authorized , I guess that the `assertEquals` doesn&#39;t accept float as arguments.

I am new to Java testing with JUnit. I have to work with Java and I would like to use unit tests.

My problem is: I have an abstract class with some abstract methods. But there are some methods which are not abstract. How can I test this class with JUnit? Example code (very simple):

    abstract class Car {

        public Car(int speed, int fuel) {
            this.speed = speed;
            this.fuel = fuel;
        }

        private int speed;
        private int fuel;
    
        abstract void drive();
    
        public int getSpeed() {
            return this.speed;
        }
    
        public int getFuel() {

I want to test `getSpeed()` and `getFuel()` functions.

How to test abstract class in Java with JUnit?

I&#39;m not talking about pointers to const values, but const pointers themselves.

I&#39;m learning C and C++ beyond the very basic stuff and just until today I realized that pointers are passed by value to functions, which makes sense. 
This means that inside a function I can make the copied pointer point to some other value without affecting the original pointer from the caller.

So what&#39;s the point of having a function header that says:

    void foo(int* const ptr);

Inside such a function you cannot make ptr point to something else because it&#39;s const and you don&#39;t want it to be modified, but a function like this:

    void foo(int* ptr);

Does the work just as well! because the pointer is copied anyways and the pointer in the caller is not affected even if you modify the copy. So what&#39;s the advantage of const?

Today I&#39;ve stumbled upon a tricky issue with Ruby constants. In our team someone created a module, which is included into multiple models. In our (spec) test output this results into warning messages such as:

One way to solve this is, is to declare your constants like this:

    module LifeCycle

      unless (const_defined?(:RESET))

From my understanding, `const` modifiers should be read from right to left. From that, I get that:

    const char*

is a pointer whose char elements can&#39;t be modified, but the pointer itself can, and

    char const*

is a constant pointer to `mutable` chars.

But I get the following errors for the following code:

    const char* x = new char[20];
    x = new char[30];   //this works, as expected
    x[0] = &#39;a&#39;;         //gives an error as expected

    char const* y = new char[20];
    y = new char[20];   //this works, although the pointer should be const (right?)
    y[0] = &#39;a&#39;;         //this doesn&#39;t although I expect it to work

So... which one is it? Is my understanding or my compiler(VS 2005) wrong?

const char* and char const* - are they the same?

I have a vector as member in a class and I want to return a reference to it through a getVector() function, so as to be able to modify it later. Isn’t it better practice the function getVector() to be const? However I got an error “qualifiers dropped in binding reference of type…” in the following code. What should be modified?
