Try the [SmartGitHg][1]. It&#39;s a Git GUI that both support Windows and Linux. And it supports GitHub very well.

I assume [git-cola][1] does what you are looking for. It is not specifically for GitHub, but it allows working with Git and its repositories in general. It is [Qt][2]-based and should work on any Linux desktop.

When I try to commit some changed files, I get the following error message with TortoiseGit

`fatal: LF would be replaced by CRLF in &lt;some file in the repo&gt;`

Now, before I get the usual `LF vs CRLF` answers, I know and understand what the debate is about. Secondly, I&#39;ve also set my global settings to:

`core.autocrlf true`

Third, [I&#39;ve got a `.gitattributes` file][1].

So I -want- to make sure or files are forced to have `CRLF`.

What I don&#39;t understand is that it&#39;s saying `FATAL` and blocking me from continuing. A Warning? Sure! Do I know what I&#39;m trying to do? I do! 

**I just want it to convert silently and STFU**.

Alternatively, if it&#39;s forced to BLOCK me, is there a way I can update all files in the repo to be `CRLF`, so this warning is no longer issued?

These repos are private, so they will never be developed outside of Windows + Visual Studio.

How do I change the color of the gutter where there are no &#39;+&#39;/&#39;~&#39; symbols?  I.e. the grey part?  This is how you change the number column: [https://stackoverflow.com/questions/250652/vim-initial-settings-change-backgound-color-for-line-number-on-the-left-side][3] but I can&#39;t find how to change the &#39;gutter&#39; color.

Any ideas?

I&#39;ve added this to my `.git/config` file:

    fetch = +refs/pull/*/head:refs/remotes/origin/pr/*

Which allows me to pull down pull request diffs, but when I check it out it actually creates a branch with that same name. Is there any way for me to push to `pr/2` and have it actually go to the pull request instead of going to a new branch named `pr/2`?

I&#39;ve a repository `moodle` on my Github account which I `forked` from the official repository.

I then cloned it on my local machine. It worked fine. I created several branches (under the `master` branch). I made several commits and it worked fine. 

I don&#39;t know how I&#39;m getting the following error when I do : `git push origin master`

I&#39;m trying to clone a remote repository on github, but it is big and my connection doesn&#39;t seem to be stable enough, so I can&#39;t clone it successfully.

But I have successfully downloaded the .zip of the repository.

Is there a way to use this zip as it was created by git clone, so I can push, pull etc..?
