**Common to both TextBlocks and TextBoxes:**

 - Can be used to display text
 - Can be set to specific Height and Width or be set to Auto so that they grow in size with the text. 
 - Can set font size, font type, font styling, to wrap and to range left, right or centred. 
 - Can have opacity set and have Pixel Shaders applied. 

**TextBlock:**

 - Used for displaying text more focused typographically. 
 - Can contain text set to different colors, fonts and sizes. 
 - The line height can also be increased from the default setting to give more space between each line of text. 
 - Text inside a TextBlock cannot be made selectable by the user.

**TextBox:**

 - Used for displaying text more focused for content input or when content is needed to be made selectable by the user. 
 - Can only be set to one colour, one font size, one font type etc. 
 - Have fixed Line Spacing. 
 - Can also be set to a fixed height and width but also have scrollbars switched on to allow content to expand.

TextBlock is more lightweight control for displaying text and TextBox is used when you require user input or edit existing text. [Proof for mem usage][1].

Is it possible to use the @Data Lombok annotation at class level yet override the getter for the Boolean field? The default it generates is getXXX method for the Boolean field. I wish to override it as isXXX()?

As you can see in my Load() method in my ViewModel first I am getting matchList (which is a list of a DataContract Class) from my Service.Then by foreach loop I am inserting my matchList items to my _matchObsCollection(which is an ObservableCollection of DataContract Class)).Now here I am getting the above error (as I shown in Title) &quot;This type of CollectionView does not support changes to its SourceCollection from a thread different from the Dispatcher thread&quot;

I am writing a WPF program and I am trying to figure out a way to format data in a TextBox through some repeatable method like a style or template. I have a lot of TextBoxes (95 to be exact) and each one is bound to its own numeric data which can each have their own resolution defined. For example if the data is 99.123 with a resolution of 2 then it should display 99.12. Similarly a data value of 99 and resolution 3 should be displayed as 99.000 (not 99). Is there a way to do this?

I should clarify, there are 95 TextBoxes on the current screen I&#39;m working on, but I want every TextBox throughout the various screens in my program to display the correct number of decimal places. Now that I think about it, some of these are TextBoxes (like the screen I&#39;m working on now) and some are DataGrids or ListViews, but if I can figure out how to get it working for TextBoxes I&#39;m sure I can figure it out for the other controls as well.

There&#39;s not much code to share in this case but I&#39;ll attempt to make it clearer:

It turns out that after walking away from the computer for a while, I came back to find a simple answer that was staring me in the face. Format the data in the view model!

What&#39;s the difference between the `Window.Loaded` and `Window.ContentRendered` events in WPF?  Is the `ContentRendered` event called first? 

The description of the `Window.ContentRendered` event [here][1] just says

&gt; Occurs after a window&#39;s content has been rendered.

The description of the `Window.Loaded` event [here][2] says

&gt; Occurs when the element is laid out, rendered, and ready for interaction. 

I have a case where I want to set the window&#39;s `MaxHeight` to the height of the working area of the screen that is displaying my window.  Which event should I do it in?

I think I found what I was looking for, but I&#39;m even more confused now.  The `Loaded` event happens first and then the `ContentRendered` event happens.  In the book Programming WPF by Chris Sells &amp; Ian Griffiths, it says that the `Loaded` event is 

&gt; Raised just before the window is shown

While the &#39;ContentRendered` event is 

&gt; Raised when the window&#39;s content is visually rendered.

This contradicts what the MSDN documentation says about the `Loaded` event:

&gt; Occurs when the element is laid out, rendered, and ready for interaction. 

This is even more confusing now.

Do I need to unbind items as the item disappears in order to prevent memory leaks? I guess I&#39;m just a little worried that if I reload and a new template is applied to a control, and in that template there exists a binding to an outside element, could that prevent the control made for the template from being garbage collected?

So WPF windows only have four resize mode options: `NoResize`, `CanMinimize`, `CanResize` and `CanResizeWithGrip`. Unfortunately, the options that enable resizing also enable maximizing the window, and those that don&#39;t are useless to me.

Is there an option to disable the maximize button while keeping the resize feature?

So, cutting my teeth on JavaFX, so far things are moving along fine.

However, all of the text fields have a line running across them, 10px or so from the top.

Not just in my application, but in the SceneBuilder application as well.

Note, I&#39;m not using any explicit CSS, I don&#39;t know what SceneBuilder uses. The screen shot is from SceneBuilder, my screens look identical.

Edit: I downloaded the samples, it&#39;s clearly something to do with the Modena theme. The Caspian theme looks just fine. Below is a screenshot from the Modena.jar TextFields section. It&#39;s interesting that the `TextArea` suffers a similar issue, though not as universally as the `TextField`.

Folks keep clamoring for this, so here it is. I essentially just followed this: https://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/get_started/form.htm and use a default Netbeans 8.0.2 JavaFX Application project. Just cut and pasted it in from the website.
